looking forward for the other races. servus Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Mark J on July 16, 2015, 08:12:24 PM +0100 err, going to ask the question, is anyone other than me and H@L thinking of turning up to this race? Judging by the complete lack of interest shown I am beginning to wonder?
Shout up if you are otherwise I will race in my other league which doesn't normally clash with this but the race got postponed a week. They get people to sign up before the event showing an intent to race, which I think is a good thing and we should do here. Must admit I am really struggling with the braking in these GT2 cars. Just spent an hour and half just trying to set a 1:49.7 time without destroying the front tyres through flat spotting. That still made me 4 secs slower than the AI :surrender: though I was on meds and 30L fuel. Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: picnic on July 16, 2015, 09:30:46 PM +0100 If I'm not at the race no one else will be as I'm setting it up, so count me in although I detest this track.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Stefan aka Postal on July 17, 2015, 08:07:01 AM +0100 Hi, i don't think i will do this one. Got a GTL race here on Monday, which i would like to do and will be back for AC on Wednesday for the GT3's. Also GT2 is not my most favourite class, however i will attend those races if i have time.

Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: picnic on July 19, 2015, 05:41:06 PM +0100 Hello Richard, welcome to our corner of the Internet ;)
Come race time you'll be able to choice whatever car you prefer from those listed in the race announcement. Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: spanner on July 19, 2015, 07:10:07 PM +0100 Hi Richard
We run the booking system here, which i a bit of a pain but it does allow you to pick what ever car you like. Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: picnic on July 19, 2015, 07:21:14 PM +0100 Server up

Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: picnic on July 19, 2015, 07:31:33 PM +0100 You're not as I ****** up and needed to restart it :(
Search for .org.uk in the server list. Select you car, enter the password (see above) and click join. You'll then get a countdown timer that shoudl expire at about 8:15 BST Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: picnic on July 19, 2015, 09:03:18 PM +0100 So glad I don't waste time practising this stupid game. First off it crashed during the countdown to the race start. After killing all the processes and getting the game back up I checked I'd got what I thought would be enough fuel for my shortened race. All during quali I was using just under 0.6 of a galleon, 1st lap of the race I use well over 4 galleons! So that screws that then. Game over, bye bye
Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Mark J on July 19, 2015, 09:41:25 PM +0100 Sadly, that was pretty awful. Only 8 cars and 7 of them were Bmws ::)
The already terrible braking in these GT2 cars was exaggerated by whatever grip level you chose for this race and the car was so bad under braking it wasn't even enjoyable. Just doesn't feel like you can grab these cars by the scruff of the neck and race them. I spent the whole time trying to brake very early and like a 7rd old ballerina and still regularly locked up and ran off. Carp! :( Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: SRW on July 19, 2015, 09:57:24 PM +0100 In recent races I have killed the tyres in the first few laps by flat spotting, but this time I chose the second from hardest tyre and although I had the flat spot warning come up on screen for the second half of the race I found the tyres held out a lot better and the race quite enjoyable.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Simon Gymer on July 20, 2015, 11:48:12 AM +0100 Love those cars, they really suit my driving style. Having to not lock the tyres suits my gently, gently approach to racing. Unlike the aliens I'll never be able to throw a car around sideways for the best lap time so having to be smooth in these really works for me.
Having qualified 2nd I shot off the line whilst Richard had a terrible start this put me in the lead and ended up with Richard having an incident. This meant I had no pressure the whole race and cruised to the finish in first poking in a good couple of laps on the final couple of laps (although nowhere near Soft Tyre pace). If anyone wants my setup for the BMW then just message me. I made a setup for Nurburgring and used the exact same one for Imola (bar fuel differences). Worked a treat. I find the differential the most important setting in nearly all the cars in AC tbh so once you've got a differential setting that works for you then stick with it and everything else is tweaking. Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: keikojoe on July 20, 2015, 12:31:32 PM +0100 Hi guys , has anyone got a full replay they can upload? I made the worse start ever lol , im usually super quick of the line but hey ho. Was taken out by a driver as i was passing him , was forced onto the grass and was running half on and off then was bumped off into last place . Took everyone within id say a lap and simon was too far ahead to catch . Look forwards to racing simon as he was quick and consistent. :)
Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Legzy on July 20, 2015, 09:36:00 PM +0100 Cool, with the amount of enjoyment/support for AC I'm reading in this thread, GTR2 will be back to weekly races before I know it :thumbup1: >:D tumbleweed

This is why I'm posting the next BMW race up, and that's it. This entire league has turned into a load of childish mudslinging about someone's favourite sim not being raced all the time. Count me out. EDIT: misread it, sorry. :( Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Legzy on July 20, 2015, 10:22:57 PM +0100 Cool, with the amount of enjoyment/support for AC I'm reading in this thread, GTR2 will be back to weekly races before I know it :thumbup1: >:D tumbleweed Oh for crying out loud... But I do keep checking these threads, hoping to see its popularity take off :thumbup2: I had hoped that giving a little poke might encourage people to turn up & make the most of the prime Sunday slot... If I'd know it would lead to toys being thrown out the pram I wouldn't have stuck my unwelcome oar in. I know I didn't pick up on the sarcasm (my bad, and I apologise for it), so there's a good chance someone else wouldn't - and without it it doesn't exactly come across well, or at least it didn't to me. The downside of text rather than speech. :-\ Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Simon Gymer on July 21, 2015, 08:36:36 AM +0100 Nothing will ever take off without advertising. We don't even advertise to our own members let alone anyone else so it's no wonder turnout in all SRou series (not specific to AC) for any game are small. With such a wide range of games available for people to play you need to draw people in to something otherwise you'll just get lost in the crowd. Our biggest series only attracts 15 drivers on the best weeks!
And then you have the website, which is very functional and has some great features and unlike a lot of SimRacing league websites actually works (hoorah), but it does look like it came from the early 90s. Snazzy websites looks more appealing, irrelevant of reality and this is a factor when you're trying to attract new drivers. Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: Mark J on July 21, 2015, 03:59:36 PM +0100 Crikey for once I find myself in complete agreement with Sharky ;D
Plus everyone is far too touchy on here lately :( it's sim racing ffs, and we actually all want just good racing with decent grids :) Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: spanner on July 21, 2015, 09:08:34 PM +0100 your just as touchy as the rest of us Mark, having just read the GT3 thread!
Ok, having seen the replay, i'll appologise for that Richard, as it does look like i drove you off. I'n my defence, with my limited visibility in the car i felt i was on the line and there wasnt any room aned couldnt quite work out why you were trying to overtake around the outside, on the grass, with a LHer coming up and i couldnt tell where you were. As you were annoying me by going quicker on the grass, and harrassing me, and confusing me without khowing where you were as the corner came up i took my line automatically. Clearly we were both suffering with visibility. Good race other than that with nsfast but shame about your driving lol Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 GT2 - Imola - Jul 19 Post by: keikojoe on July 22, 2015, 11:55:31 AM +0100 Thanks for the apology spanner . :)
