Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

I will be in Italy for this race, and will not be able to race now for the next 3 weeks  :(

I will make sure the server is running the right track/cars etc before I go, but if the server gets stopped
for the other races, then please can someone check it's running and start it if required?
I will leave my home brew server running with the same details if a back up is required.

Also, as the session clock starts when the first person connects and resets when the only person on reconnects
please can someone connect to the server at the start of prac, and drop and reconnect if the clock needs to be
reset to 30 mins.

Mucho grassy ass, and happy racing
Matt

I hope RRE improve the AI soon. It's pointless doing an offline race as they will just take you out.  >:(

The cars and track are great tho  :thumbup1:

Nice to have you with us Jose. Early days for this sim at the moment but hopefully with more folk joining it's popularity will increase.

Thanks Tony,

My first impressions are very good. Just two weeks ago I got it and at first I had a little trouble setting with my wheel (FANATEC CSR) but I got a good setup and I can say I really like the FFB, physical, etc.

I miss more classic cars, of course. Hopefully eventually take out more cars, if it can be of the 60s much better.

Cheers

Approx 2:03.5 best here for me in free practise. Had a couple of races at nurby on Tuesday in the Gr5s and they were brilliant so I'm hoping tonight will be just as good in a car that really suits this track.

With a couple of regulars away for this I hope we still get the turnout this event deserves.

Hey Guys

2:03's are fantastic lap times. I race pace should be around there. Or high 02's. I run a business, so only had limited practice as well, but I really enjoy close racing. So hope we can have a hum dinger of a race. :)

What a Prat  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: I forgot now we are using a SimRacing server on RACE NIGHT, not Matt's server which I have been using up to now including this week. Wondered why no one else was with me,  ??? by the time I realised my mistake it was too late you were all racing.  Shouldn't make that mistake again.

You missed a cracker.

A lot of position changes off the line put me in 3rd, and meant I had Reinhard crawling all over me for the first 10 minutes. I eventually cracked under the relentless pressure and binned it off the last corner. The battle for the lead lasted all race and looked amazing, and once Reinhard got past me he managed to close the gap to 2nd then grab the lead on the final lap. A proper thriller.

Sorry for the penalty in T1 fella, I lost the rear turning in and cut the apex.

Bloomin love the M1, it's such a joy to chuck around :)

Hey Gents.

Great race tonight. I had loads of fun, and was extremely nervous. Close race GoldTop. PS, sorry about the last ciacane, I slowed down on the straight to let you buy.

Senior Berger, lighting, well done. Your too quick. : :angel-wings:: you have wings Champ,

Thank you for letting me race Gents

That's a shame Bill....you missed a heck of a race  :sweatdrop:

Got the jump on Mr. Berger at the start (again ;)) and was surprised at being able to hang onto Ant as we got through the first few laps. There were a couple of places where I seemed a bit quicker but just couldn't get a clear opportunity to attempt a pass. I eventually got alongside running up to the chicane but lost my braking reference and made a right mess of it  :wetfish:  ::) Not sure what slowed down Ant (hope it wasn't my doing as I was all over the place there) but I found myself behind Mr. Berger.....again  ;)

A decent turnout considering a few regulars were away for this.

My 1st experience online and was so good.
A shame that finally my gap was 1 second slower that the midfield and about 2 seconds to the top.
So I didn't have more battles. Only the 2 or 3 first laps can got the pace with the group.
The first laps Tony was very close to me. But little by little my gap was increasing and the las 15 minutes of race I was alone  :(

But the feelings were very good. No lag, good car, good gentleman drivers.  :)

Grats all, and thanks phspok for organize it.

Cheers!

I nearly ended that one early too, thankfully kept it off the wall.

I was already losing touch with 3rd n 4th, when Jim had his little faux pas, Reinhard got caught up in it. I was promoted to 3rd for two corners before the pressure, I'd placed on myself, told.

After letting the field by, I was off again. I did get back to 5th, though I can't remember how (I really should write these on the night). Catching Jim at the end peaked my interest, though I was never really in with a chance.

Watching the gaps between 1st n 2nd, and 3rd n 4th it seemed their respective battles were intense. Then Reinhard turned it on, just to spoil the leaders day... lol.

Thanks for the opporchancity guys, was ace. Grats Reinhard, Tudor and Anty you were robbed... lol.

Such is life, disappointing but I'm terribly slow - still learning to drive on this "Sim". (Less competitive than on GTL, seconds off the pace.) Still next race at Zolder should be better as I know the track and only need to sort out driving these cars!

Bill, your quite right. This sim seems to amplify the difference between v.good and moderate drivers. Unfortunately you and I will not see many other cars during these races.

Eck - my Crew Chief warned me that if I didn't push I'd lose my 4th place. It takes the guy behind's best lap and compares it to your last lap. If it calculates that he'll catch you before the end if you continue at your current pace, and that if you lap at your PB he *won't* catch you, it tells you to push. It told me to push, so I pushed. I think you would have caught me at the pace I'd been going :)

Is this right? Does this happen or am I being a plonker? (answers on a postcard etc).

Post by: mr_belowski on August 28, 2015, 08:37:55 PM +0100
It doesn't often trigger. You need to have been racing against that same car for 3 or more laps (no position change), you need to be close enough that if you go at your current pace and he goes at the best pace he's had for the last 3 laps, he'll be close to you at the end.

There's an equivalent rule for the car in front of you.

They do exist and do work :)

Not sure if Tony is aware of this great mod by mr_belowski....

I must admit though it is sometimes a little strange that I'm getting encouragement to push harder from someone I'm racing with

When S3 add more data to the shared memory block I'm hoping this includes the names of each driver in the race. Then I can make the app say stuff like "let Jim through, he's awesome"

I have done the results. If the qual postitions are wrong, then please live with it, it's fiddly enough editing the .xml file to get
the race order correct  :P If the race results are wrong then please shout up. I will try to watch the replay for the previous
week and see if I need to correct that result, but am a little pressed for time today.

It always seems to lose someone in the results file, "possibly" someone who has not raced on that server before, dunno could be
just coincidence, but this time it lost Jose, so I assumed he ran as "senyorlobo" It's not a big deal if people race
with different names to the lobby names, but it makes my life slightly harder as I have to try to match names in the database.  ::)

Jose ran under his real name
