We could do with a team for this. I can't be there as I am away on Hols, but can anyone who would like to
represent SROUK sign up. I think we are still winning this mini league so let's keep the advantage  ;D

Post to the GC link above, or here, and Geoffers should see it.

I noticed that Team7 have their server running with Zolder on it but I was unable to join, due to being booted out.  After about ten attempts I gave up.  :(

Hello guys, Wednesday evening the server T7 worked well, after watching what happened  ???
I wanted to ask if there is still a free place in the team for Sunday's race  ;)
Thanks, see you soon

See you on track

Thanks for the heads up Clive.

80% chance that I will be back home for this, so put me down as a "possible". Might get a few laps practice early afternoon, otherwise it will be some rapid setup tweaks in qualifying  :-\

I think that Simon may be out of this as he has gone for Windows 10 and now PnG will not run.    ::)

Worked OK for me, although I wasn't too keen on 10 & have gone back to 7!

I don't want to talk about Race 1 but in the second one I was able to play to my strenghts.  That is, pick a fast car, park it in the corners and boot it down the straights!  Ask Geoffers.  ;-)

And a big thank you to Otto, Federico and Giuseppe for their support in this series.   :thumbup2:

Tried the "free" download of win10 on my laptop, which was running Win 7 quite happily.

Mr Microsoft said
"just download and allow the installer to run. Your computer may reboot several times during the installation and we will let you know when it is complete"   What could go wrong?? ::)

So, I downloaded... I pressed the "Install" button, and sure enough the laptop started the installation, rebooting a couple of times ...............................until the screen went blank and the lights were on but no-one was at home.

The only thing I could get at was the Bios, but no matter what I did Win 10 was not bootable and Win 7 was no more..............laptop dead!!!  :taz:
Fortunately we had a Win7 CD in the office at work, so I "borrowed" that thinking it would be a simple matter of re-loading a fresh install of Win7..hahahahahahahahahh!!!

It took me a whole weekend to persuade the computer to accept Win7 again and gradually add even the basic functions.  Still have issues with the USB ports and a couple of other drivers seem reluctant to load/work/update.

Just to be clear, I am not impressed with Win 10!

As for the races last night..

The Elan was fun and I picked up places as cars ahead queued up to try and demolish the pits by hurling their cars at the row of cones. If someone had told me how this added to the points I could win I would have had a go myself!! It always felt like that Elan could/should  have been pushed harder , but my concentration was just not up to 100% driving so I kept it safe and steady with only 1 or 2 minor excursions and safe 6th? place.
Started qually for the next race and suddenly remembered that I was down for  GPL race in the Joe Shaw Memorial Trophy at 9:00 so had to make a sneaky exit...sorry guys. Quite enjoyed that Escort and was down to 1:35 on race fuel with a few seconds still available if I could hook it all together..ah well maybe next time?

Sorry for my bad performance, I tried but only two days of testing were few for me.
Race 1 was not so bad, after the front flip, with the damaged car, I did "only" a few errors.
In race 2 I was a little tired  :sweatdrop: and the second lap I lost the Escort and slammed against the rail  :cursing: I saw that the car was broken and I retired.
Next time I'll ask Federico to tell me a few days before the event  :thumbup1:

mmm..beer smiley is vanished  ???

Hello to all,
In race 1 after a good start from pole, I made a big mistake by engaging second gear instead of third ::), the result was a spin mid-corner that made me fall in last place, from there I started to overtake but when I reached Melis my tires were finished, however, a third place is good for the team, congratulations to Fede, who has held high the banner.

In race 2 I made a good start from the second position by bringing in the lead (thanks to the engine of the BMW ;D), from that moment I tried to distance the brilliant Melis trying not to destroy the left front tire, despite my age that are still able to make it, congratulations to Clive for his excellent podium and all the guys who helped us.

Many thanks to all for hospitality, see you next time.

Otto

If anyone wants another bash at this combination, I notice that NoGrip are running it again on Wednesday as a fun race.

They are indeed, unfortunately I will probably not be able to make it.

Are you guys still interested in racing P&G every week? Is Matt still intending to go back to P&G at some point or has RRE taken over? I don't know what you guys think, but I'm of the opinion that we need to pool the resources of SROUK, GC & NG I try to organise some more regular joint races, as currently every separate league is suffering from low numbers. This may improve when the new update is released I guess, but for how long?  We need to do something otherwise this excellent mod is no more!

Wasn't just absolutely great when we only had GPL!   ::)

I think that people have spent too much to drop RRE at the minute so I expect that I will do as many of the Wednesday night PnG races as I can.  Sundays are not much good on a regular basis as there are too many things getting in the way.  Looking forward to the 3.1.1 release!  Or is it 3.2?

Post by: Giuseppe Reali on August 26, 2015, 04:42:00 PM +0100
Sorry guys, what is the RRE?
I agree with you, the PnG is a great mod, but they are many years that we use it, and slowly will retire as the inimitable GPL.
Personally are oriented on AC because in my opinion is much better as driving sensations, offers plenty of cars of different categories (even some of the PnGs) and I got tired of driving the old carts always understeer \ oversteer.
Although there is some small problem still remains the best simulator on the market.
RF2 is a bad sim and not consider, graphic ridiculous, all messed up, and depart dying too and there are not many other alternatives.
In the coming months in AC will be implemented new features about the pit and start.

Since not you tell me, take away a curiosity, you still wonder why there are not more smileys with beer or bottle?
It will be because you do not want to make people drink or a kind of gentlemen's agreement?
Apart from that it is absolutely ridiculous in this forum there are not kids, and still remained the smiley much worse ... those who shoot, hang, machete in the head ... perhaps these are more educational ??

 :punk:

Hello to all,

Race 1: It 'was tough at the beginning I had to avoid the barrel right and left but I stayed calm and managed to climb back up to the first position (Thanks to Otto and his mistake ??? ;D). Melis race toward the goal that was coming, but luckily also his tires began to wear out.

Race 2: I knew that the Escort was more slow but kept very well on the tires and during training I was constantly on tour.
At the start I was behind Melis and I kept the inside copying, under braking for the first corner I found a BMW outside of the curve to make room I put two wheels on the grass.
After the race, 'I was a mess, I made a mistake and ended up with two wheels on and off the race ended :-[.
Sorry for the bad race.

Goodbye see you soon.

Thank you

@Geoffers: Can you send me or point me at the results files for these races so I can update our system and move them off the
"forthcoming" list?

My jury is still out on P&G, I like P&G very much but the attendences had dropped so much that I felt it was no longer worth the effort I
was having to put in. I am trying R3E, actually the full name (which I think is pants) is "Race Room Racing Experience"
"Race Room" or RRE works well enough for me. We seem to be gradually getting more interest in R3E with some new members
joining in now so I will probably continue with that for the rest of the year on Thursdays.

Fede came to race with us at one of our early test races, so have a word with him Guiseppe
We could use some more fast people to give Berger some more competition  ;D

https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=501&theme=4

Just as I decide to try a new sim series I get scheduled all over the country for half the races  :taz:
but I will be there at every event I can be.
