Didn't it used to be anti-clockwise with only half the number of corners?

It may have been run anti-clockwise on occasion but clockwise is the norm. The track had the Campagnano loop added, a few years ago (thats right, I'm too lazy to look it up atm). Before then it was straight from Cimini, to the Trincea complex, which nearly mirrored the Curvone complex.

Hey guys,

Looking to run this race tonight and was looking for the server last night. But i could not find it. Was it not up or is it hidden behind some buttons in this new version 1.2??

I don't know what needs to be done to get people to turn up to race these days  :surrender: a great track and car selection yet still only 8 turn up  ???

It was still a great race and I generally had someone ahead to chase the whole race length.  :) Even qually was enjoyable trying desperately to break into the top 3 but only bagging 4th.
Race start was good, though hard to keep on the throttle on cold tyres and spanner put me under early pressure as I attacked shark ahead. After a while the challenge faded but I could see the front 3 for a long while into the race as Erik and Luka fought each other.
Just as I was settling for 4th with 3 laps remaining I saw a track-rejoining Erik ahead and I gratefully took 3rd place. Erik pressured me to the end and my rears were shot so I was glad to see the chequered flag and a place on the podium  :)

Please don't shout me down on this. I've been 'racing' on public servers recently. What with the wreckers, noobs it is very frustrating. However I have noticed that there are a few good racers amongst them who must get as pissed off as I do with the quality of the racing on these servers. I've often thought, "wonder if I set up a server and invite these guys to join".  Wonder if something could be done along these lines.

Good for you  :) what about the other 17 drivers to fill out a grid?  ::) smart ass  ;)

Maybe we need a proper poll to see what most people want to race? And also what's the reason they aren't bothering to attend the races anymore?  :-\. Might be format/choice of evening/car choice etc etc  :-\
Maybe it's just a glitch as its holiday season, but it's been a downward trend for a while now.

That was a frustrating outing for me. In practice the ASC.exe crashed on me. Luckely it remembered my booking though! Then after qually was over i tried to alter the setup to take in fuel and medium compounds.. now it told me it was an invalid setup...???? WTF is that all about???? Anyone experienced this before'??

Had to load a previous race setup which just had enough fuel in it, but when i was ready it put me in pitlane refusing to select first gear... grr.. With such a competitive field i was going nowhere, bummer as the track is nice, especially the first sector. Congrats to the podium.
P.s. i just assumed mediums where needed, but softs might have been the way to go then?

I noticed other crews are experiencing low turnouts as well. I am sure it is a combination of holiday/summer season (i have lot of other things going on also, so very little time for AC and i am sure i am not the only one..) and the fact it is more attractive to enter a proper series instead of random races. For this one it might be the fact that  there are already a lot of GT-leagues out there?

There is enough content (and new DLC coming) to make some nice series. I put some suggestions here https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=12897.30 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=12897.30), so it would be nice to get some more comments from fellow AC'ers here to see where we need to go!

I still believe the single best thing we can do is email everyone registered for SRou to announce the series to get them interested, get people to sign up and then email everyone who is signed up to a series about every single event (before the event) to remind them about races. I suspect 95% of the registered members on here have no clue there is even anything happening cause they either havent used SRou for ages or don't browse.

Most people are not organised and can't remember jack poop, so just reminding them about events by email is amazingly effective at keeping people interested imho.

LOL

Can I opt out of your email list please, I get enough junk mail as it is.  I still have GPL leagues doing that to me!

SROUK is offering me the choice of two half finished sims that don't cover the cars that I want, so I'm not racing.

That's not quite true as it looks like I might get a PnG outing every other week at Nogrip.

BTW Brother Simon's PC is currently flat on its back after the Windows 10 episode, so you wont see him either.  Although I don't think that he ventured into AC.

It would be one email to all members to get signups and then one email for those that signup so no need to worry yourself if you're not interested.

Sorry to Chris for the nudge, I kept looking at helicorsa to show me where i was, was it just the contrast against the sky? By the time i realized it doesn't work for the front of the car i hadnt realised where we were.

If people are in a position to want to race then they can come on the site. we havent gone anywhere. If people cant be bother to look on the site are we going to get them to turn up regularly and race?

Since you put it that way ... GT2/3 cars, open wheelers are not attractive to me.
Didn't say anything against because I`m in minority so I choose not to race.

I like to eat steak but not every day.  ;)

And that's why we should have some polls to see who wants to race what!  Am sure most of us are flexible on what's raced and a rotating set of series could cater for most tastes. Random fun races each week are never going to draw bigger grids.

There's a reason why companies pay millions in advertising cause it works. You can say people can be bothered if they want but you will never get many drivers internally or externally without advertising. It's not about the series cause gt3 is very popular generally. If there are no changes here to attract more people then i think that will be the end of ac here and probably some of the other games too.

Fyi, like bob, im in the middle of a house move, i have no internet and im working from 8am through till 10/11pm everyday and have done now for 2 weeks, ive had the occasional early finish about 7/8 tho :).

As for people not turning up.. I dont see why anyone is supprised, loads and loads have people have posted up ideas and things to do and im yet to see any of them happen.

If it wasnt for sutol mentioning this on a completely unrelated car forum i wouldnt have popped by.  Im sure lots of it is due to the holiday season but lets face it.. Gt3 cars ... Again... Id rather boil my piss and bear grylls the shit out of it!

There are so many good cars which would make for a good race.. Yet we use gt3 cars... Blurgh.

Postal : it was probably invalid because you put fuel in and the weight of it lowered the car to invalid levels.

I do miss Wednesday night racing for sure.

After the last few game updates it put me off assetto corsawith all the feeling lost in code.

Also my work shifts of late have landed on race nights.
Tomorrow work from 15.30 till 24.00 :-(

Played ac last night, first for a long time and really got back in to it and will be on next Wednesdays race.

Ahh thanks mate! Didn't think of that, will have a try by increasing spring rate or ride height then. :thumbup1:

I would say; take a standard car and track as it is a bit late minute for tomorrow's race. I won't be attending though as it is my wife's birthday. Luckely this is such a great community there is a R3E race with Gr.5 monsters the day after, so i can still get my fix!  ;) :P ::) 8)

Good luck pleasing everyone!
The first mistake is trying to please anyone but yourself. :) It's not about the choices of cars or tracks its about attracting the right people and enough of them, once you have people they will drive whatever you put in front of them. People will always moan about everything under the sun, you simply ignore all of it and do you're own thing. Once you realise there is no pleasing anyone, let alone everyone, and therefore the best thing to do is please yourself then the job is a lot easier. Let people moan, it's fine, just ignore it.  :)

Thanks for your time and commitment to organising the events, people do appreciate it (even if they don't show it very well).  :thumbup2:

Just try the combo's out..

Main thing is making sure the combo is fun!

I remember when i fisrt joined there was a much more varied combination of cars and tracks, the lotus 49 at silverstone was very tough to learn but by god it was fun!
