This is my last planned GT3 race and the last planned race by me for Assetto Corsa. I only picked this up when Goldtop stopped to just carry on racing on the most appropriate night for me with GT3's my priority, i actually wasn't a big fan of AC. However to keep up with peoples appetite for this was too much especially when Tibs decided to stop, I don't have that much freetime to try out all the mods out there. I would have been happy just doing GT3's but clearly people arn't happy with that. Plus i actually want to be doing more racing so am now looking further afield and in other sims.

Hope someone does step in, but this community has shrunk massively since i first started here and unfortuneatly i don't see the trend reversing.

Hope to see you around somewhere

Thanks for your organisation, I for one really appreciated it. I do hope that someone can take it on otherwise there's going to be a big hole in Wednesday evenings.

Lap count updated.

Tricky one this to learn, plenty of hairpins and some tricky corners. Didnt realise how tough this was going to be.

1:20 for me so far, with 40L fuel. No idea where that stands. Had trouble getting any heat in the tyres, only 60degs after 10 laps.
Hoping its one of those tracks that's better to race on than practise, lots of hairpins!

Better than me Mark, i'd better get practising!!

eta/ trouble is stringing more than 6 laps together without a spin or a cut track.

Thank you Spanner for this great combo and for all your efforts, you put into organising these events  :thumbup2:

Great race with Luka, the whole 22 laps. Only mistakes was going to decide where we would end, with our equal pace. Braking had to be done so precise, too early and you're slow, too late and you're off.
Thank you all who kept coming back for these races

That turned out to be a pretty good race.  :) the track presented a different challenge in these cars and it was fun trying to keep the pace up. Only thing I didn't like was the lack of grip with the car just under steering every turn on tyres that just not would warm up. Maybe run a higher ambient temp if we use again. :-\

Had a great qually session and bagged 3rd, smashing my pb by 3 seconds  :o

My joy dropped a notch when I noticed Simons Nismo lined up alongside me on the grid  :P last I looked he was well down the order!
Just about kept ahead in the opening corners to keep 3rd, but that was thrown away on the penultimate corner when I got spat off the astro turf verge on my cold tyres and he nipped ahead  :'(
Then enjoyed chasing him hard for about 10 laps before having a couple of sloppy laps allowing shark to scamper off.
Did have a short spell late on where I closed the gap a bit but then he put in a lot of consistent fast laps that I just couldn't catch. Good work in the heavy Nismo, I really thought this would be the one track it would lose its advantage but he pulled a good lead over me in the z4.
Finished 4th about 12 secs ahead of the rest, so a good nights work  :)

Thanks to Spanner for stepping in and providing us with some great racing. I don't know what is going to happen now for Wednesday nights, hopefully someone will take up baton??

Err, isn't there still one round remaining?

We haven't even used these cars at zandvoort yet either  :)

Last night again reminded me why we need championships/series that mean something as to where you finish and who you compete with. One off races just aren't going to give that, if people have offs or aren't competitive in a one off race are just going to bale  :(
I'm all for using different cars at different tracks but we still need a backbone series, maybe running alternate weeks.

Pfew that was a bit of an uphill struggle. Never heard of the track before and had no practice, so the first 15 min. where much needed. Had a working setup for the SLS so that was my weapon of choice.
First lap, last corner, went a little wide and try to floor it on the astroturf on cold tires and off i went. Restarted from the pits and was happy with my race pace, only in my haste to regain time i went off again. This field is too competative to be making mistakes like that! Still had fun blasting around with this combo.

I'll be on holiday for the final round but looks like my championship lead is uncatchable anyway so yey me.  ;) ;D

My joy dropped a notch when I noticed Simons Nismo lined up alongside me on the grid  :P last I looked he was well down the order!
My practice was the qualifying session, so I got faster the more laps I did (as normal). Didn't feel I'd really got to grips with the car/track combo in qually though.

Good work in the heavy Nismo, I really thought this would be the one track it would lose its advantage but he pulled a good lead over me in the z4.
Took me more than half the race to really get to grips with the car/track combo, then once I'd worked out how to go faster, I did. The Nissan didn't help me, so all that extra pace was my driving not the car. I would have definitely been quicker in the other cars as the Nissan was a mare both accelerating and braking in most of the corners. I was having to be really light on the pedals.

Sooo, is it the final round at Monza this week or next week?  :whistling: If not, then are we running a race at all?  :)

I was sticking to the bi-weekly schedule so was going to post up Monza for next week. I would hope Chris is ready to step in soon.

I am not going to be able to do anything until 1.3 is out.

Unless someone wants to setup the stuff and i tell them the combo's im afraid it will have to wait.

So has 1.3 been officially given a release date? Or are you just going on rumour? I dnt tned ot frequent the AC forums and a quick look there had no real mention of 1.3.

sorting out the stuff isnt hard, i could do it for you, i just dont have time to try out the combos for quality, permissions etc. making sure it works.
