In my recent spirit of taking different cars I think it'll be the F575 tonight, there's hardly ever one on the grid.

In reality mate providing Jon doesn't crash the championship is his, there is no way I can match his pace.  The only reason we are level is because he has missed so many races.  Now if we were racing at Brno I might give him a good run for his money, wonder if anyone would notice if we swaped location.  ;)

To be honest guys im chuffed with 2nd place, never expected to finish so high in the championship.

You might be right on outright pace Greg, but never never give up when you are neck and neck with just one race left. Anything can and does usually happen! John could suffer any kind of problem, from disconnection, wheel problems, incident with another driver or just lapse of concentration and he's off into the barriers, race over. It's a one race shootout, the best thing you can do is make sure you finish. :o

Everything to play for tonight Greg, you can win this championship, you just have to believe.  8)

Gonna nip out to local store and see what wheels they've got in. If nothing, then tyf has his orders ;) Very true about not giving up. Anything can happen. I've spun out at monza more than a few times. If I don't race, grats on the title Greg 8) the man who finishes with more points deserves to win, simple as that :)

Firstly and most importantly, massive congratulations to Greg for his win tonight and also for taking the championship!!!!!!!!!!

I had the worst race ever in my entire life. F575 was a very very very very bad choice. It had no rear end grip at all, would just spin decelerating or accelerating, I was completely hopeless in it. Very sorry to Jamera who I tried to overtake and failed miserable at, didn't make contact but made both of us go off. Utterly useless, was only my nature of never quitting that made me stay as it was so dismal i could barely get the car round the track. By the looks of it Tyf was having the same problem as me in the F575 cause I kept seeing him from time to time as we both cocked up a lot.

Very surprised I wasn't lapped, must have spun so many times. No low speed grip at all that car, awful, awful awful.

 ;D :o :P

Ok for starters, congrats Greg on win and champs! :)

For 2nds I was gonna say that, before u can have ur ballz cut off... U first need them! ???
Meaning Shark and me both had the ballz to pick a 'weird' car, F 575 GTC in this case. But I honestly think u lot can call us both eunuchs from now on, loool!  :D ;) ;D

I've never seen Shark spin so many times in 1 race, not even in a wet endurance one, haha! And mine had so much understeer that I was turning into Lesbos #2 when I wasn't even finished driving through Lesbos #1, ffs! ;D ;D ;D

3rds, Shame that JonM couldn't make it, but seeing Ze Gregg won this race and a bunch of others this season, it's well deserved imo! :D

Roll on season #3, although my 2 fav cars will prolly be driven by some1 else :-[ Think I'll go for stuff that I can handle in the future :)

Tx for the races so far peeps! :)

B'ah...what a crap end to the season >:(

Made up a couple of places on first few laps only to get rear ended at high speed, sending me spinning backwards across the first chicane for about 400 yards  :o and just to top off my annoyance (I) get given a stop and go straight after !!? ??? >:( ...presumably because my car went spinning across all the apexes from the shunt :-\ ???

Just to add the final insult to injury, i perform my stop and go, pull out the pitbox with the rev limiter on, leave the pit straight only to be told i got another stop and go for speeding in the pitlane ...wtf ? ::)

Rejoined about 1 lap down...race over. Was so p*ssed off after all that, my concentration just went and i rethit the escape key.
Pants, missed out on the chance to have a good scrap with some peeps. :'(

Many congratulations to Greg on winning the race and the S2 championship.  O0

Had a horrible, horrible race. Qualified 4th with a new PB, and was matching the front runners for pace over the first few laps. Then I spun it out of the first chicane, and everything went downhill from there. Spent the rest of the race spinning off every few laps. Seems like most of the field were having similar problems. I need to check the replay over a couple incidents, hope I didn't get in people's way too much when recovering.  :(

On the plus side, it's been an excellent championship. The standard of racing has been very good, I look forward to racing with you all in S3.  8) Think I might give Monza a miss next time though, or maybe take a Corvette.  ;)

Grats to you Greg for winning drivers and Monza.

My goal was to finish ahead of you Mo and I thought you might have held on longer to third but then I thnk you spun into T1, I figured controllers issues like nGT sprint last week!! Think I could have battled for the win if I hadn't spun it round at Della Roggia - what a horrible turn that is!! Anyhow, think I can find some good pace at Monza.:)

First of all thanks to everyone for making it almost fun to be moderator  ;)  An excellent standard of driving by all throughout the season.

Secondly thanks for all the grats guys, I never expected to win the championship but believe me I'm delighted.

Thirdly grats to the ZIP team on the team championship (if my maths are correct)

Onto the race, started well and took my chance when Flybri ran slightly wide on lap 2 or 3 allowing me to take 1st.  After that it was just a case of maintaining the pace and putting those consistant laps in.  There was never any room for error with no more than a 7 sec gap to the following guys.  I cant believe how nervous I was at the start, unbelievable, lol.
To cap off an excellent evening Flybri finished 3rd to secure our 2nd place in the team championship.

Anyway its been a great season racing with you guys, looking forward to season 3.

Big congrats to Greg for the title, doing it in style winning the last race!

Had a good quali, almost broke my pb and started 5th.  Gutted for LEUV going LD on the formation lap, stonking quali lap for pole  :-\
Started steadily but had too much rear wing AND too short gearing so I had to be mighty through the tight stuff and under braking to keep up with the front-runners.  Good battles with Rich and Fly but couldn't keep up with Gregs pace without my tyers melting!  First GTR race in a while so very happy with 2nd  ;D

Think I'm going to try a different car for S3, far too many F550's around these days! ::) :)

Congrats to Greg on the championship - and finishing in style too 8)

My goal was to finish ahead of you Mo and I thought you might have held on longer to third but then I thnk you spun into T1, I figured controllers issues like nGT sprint last week!!

No I've no controller issues that I can blame, just no control over the 550 on low wing. I lost it trying to go around the outside of Zacari into T1, no low speed grip and once it happens once the the tyres are fecked so I had about 5 spins in the end.
Congrats on the 3rd spot Rich, sorry I couldn't race you for it.

Spent the rest of the race spinning off every few laps. Seems like most of the field were having similar problems. I need to check the replay over a couple incidents, hope I didn't get in people's way too much when recovering.  :(

No complaints from me,  our contact was hilarious - both of us rejoining after spins and in each other's blind spots followed by a comical tussle to get onto the tarmac and get the power down ...great stuff.

Raced with my lights on again, there's no way of telling from the cockpit of the 550  :-[ soz for the distraction.

Thanks for the racing throughout the season and look forward to S3...........

:'( I'm still pretty gutted after yesterday as I've been reasonably lucky with simbin gtr recently, For some reason on the pace lap it decided to go black and then the usual "GTR has encountered problems........etc, etc.." Being the last race of the season I was just that little bit more excited about racing  ;D

Nevermind, theres always next time.

Look forward to season 3, then gtr2

Thanks and well done to all involved, on both the drivers and mods side.

and me get lagg since that car colour pack went on, but I'll try to get my computer fixed soon
so I can have a bash at sprint races maybe. Cheers Dave  :-\ later  ;)

Not sure how a car pack could give lag? Could give you lower fps in theory but that's not lag. Probably just coincidence.

My system was giving me slow fps online after he 1.5 patch release which it had never done before (and I've never installed v1.5). But a new PC cleared all that. I'm still worried that we are not using v1.5 of GTR and that could be causing some problems, but that is not really based on fact and the missing v1.5 server options is not something we want to deal with. If we can just hold out till GTR2 then the v1.5 decision is irrelevant anyway.

More likely lag is a change in networking between your PC, the server and/or Simbin's lobby somehow, but gawd knows.  :-\

Hope to see ya in the Sprint races!  ;D

Hi,  I'm having a new machine built soon, it should be in time for GTR2 but if you or anyone
could advise what spec computer I should get it would be much appreciated. I'll move over to give you the win or something  But I probably would get the latest Nvidia graphics card
because the game goes on about it,but what else I'm not sure of. :-\ my Internet connection is
2.2 broadband  but it's not cable it's just down the phone line , could this be my lagg and 1fps problem! Jon and me cannot race with these problems we are fed up and need a cure. We know it can be Great, thanks Shark  :-[ :) see you soon!

1FPS  occurs lot more on Pentium. I'd switch to A64, something like an Opteron 148 very nice or even dual core Opteron 170 but twice the price of single core 148. Prefer ATI cause I can force triple buffer, other wise not much difference between ATI and Nvidia.

Post by: Simon Gymer on March 30, 2006, 09:12:37 AM +0100
Yeah definately get an AMD64 rather than Intel. The 1 FPS plagues the Intels as Rich says, nothing to do with internet connection.

I think Nvidia just released a new fast value card didn't they the 7900GT, might be worth a look if you're not looking for top of the range. Not an Nvidia fan myself but nowadays they're all damn good cards both ATI and Nvidia, neither will let you down.

I'd get 1GB RAM at minimum, 2GB if you can.

Also recommend from me is the Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-Fi sound card. Very nice.

Hope to see you back soon!

I would actually not get dual core CPU. They are relatively new technology and i've seen quite a few issues with them. In year or two there'll be much better support for them but for now i'd go for single core.

Btw i'm burning my San Diego 3700. Leaving it at stock clock of 2.2ghz then decreasing volts until it starts to error. So far done a few nights of StressCPU and last test was 1.25v for 6 hour at least without a single error. That show it might be a great overclocker.. stock for 2.2ghz is 1.35v - 1.4v.

I got this one from MicroDirect, stepping is KACAE I think not sure though. If you get one I recommend getting boxed retail version rather than OEM, probably won't make a difference but the one I got was in a box.

I've gamed on Pentium for years but I think your right its time for a change.
I'm talking to my man on Sunday who built my other machines this info will be
very usefull I'll take some notes now. Some of it was like a foreign language
to me but I'm sure he will know about it and be quietly impressed,
Thanks again lads  :P  I can't wait!!   ;)
