Just want to point out if anyone is struggling for FPS with the 65s, the LITE65 carset (in case it hasn't been tried yet?) :helpsmilie:

Good idea there.  I always use Lite online.  Fps are better at Spa67 on my old computer, when Lite.   8)

Amateurs have always been given easier tracks to race on, as this is where new guys came to race.  50% to score points has stopped them coming.  Perhaps easy tracks are not now needed, and Amateur tracks can go Pro?
( BTW, I have registered late to race )

Martin,
You are registered.

This season the Pros & Ams will run on the same tracks. The only exception is the first race at Spa where the Ams will race on the Papyrus original & the Pros at the new 67 track. Last years 65 Am track at Spa 67 took too many casualties.

I noticed the track list only this evening.  It was your track selection, and the chance of some good racing, that got my "Yes" vote.  Now I know why it looks good.  :-* Many thanks!

It's 67's which are quite different.  Tougher cars to race, but all drivers nowadays experienced.  Perhaps an item for debate at the appropriate year.

If you take your reset on the last lap 15 seconds will be added to your time.

Should we take the stop & go before the finish line to prevent a 15 second time penalty?

Yes I think that's possible in Spa  ;)

Not Qualified - that error message means wrong FPS mode - check if you have the 60fpsv2newmod box ticked in GEM before relaunching igor/GPL for direct IP join Malcolm.

Not a very good start to the Season for me, managed to keep the car reasonable intact after the 1st lap carnage only to be discoed a few laps later, anyway hope the rest of you had a good race.

Hi Billy,

server wont let me on, says I'm not qualified to join race?

Malc

Found the problem just in time, I was using the wrong car set....doh!

Got into qualifying with a few mins to go but car was weird then I found that somehow I had throttle, brake and gear change help enabled in options....doh yet again!

Had a lonely race with a few mistakes but got to see the chequered flag, whoopee :)

Hope I didn't get in the way too much.

Grats to all the finishers :)

Malc

I was happy to reach the chequered flag as well. Not a bad outing for me. The shift-r on the first lap didn't put me too far back. I was able to draft Kai for a few laps until his engine let go. Then I was on my own, but I enjoyed the drive in the countryside. I may be able to make some chassis adjustments before the next race to reduce understeer. And maybe I can calculate the fuel a little better next time.

It was good to see some new and old faces. Congrats on the win Bastian! Also a good result for Bernie, Philippe and Johnny. I look forward to chasing after you all this season.

Great turnout for yesterdays race. Welcome to the drivers who are new to GPL. The competition looks to be at a very high standard this seasons. Phillipe, Bastian & Johnny all very quick. Bernie back on the podium.
Malcolm - i am sure you will be in the mix once you turn off the auto help
Walt - I would not blame you if you want to trade up the Cooper next time.
Whilst the graphics don't compare to the nee 67 Spa the Papurus original is  a great track to come back to. Hope to see you all back for the next round in Spain.

Spa is not a track I much like.  So to even things out, I chose a car I do not much like to attack it with.  This would have worked well enough, except for a spot of trackside untidiness.

From a rearward start, the scattered debris soon suggested track clearing services were incomplete.  I didn't stop to help, as others were available early on.  Instead with debris dodging done, I found a fourth available, but with a gap in it, before a third could be found for a tow.

Worked hard to make a bridge, and found a Carlos C.on the other side.  Once hooked up, the quickest transportation was then to ride in tandem, with a podium balanced between us.  Sadly, the expected last lap juggle was cancelled when a wheel was dropped, and the front end of our train became derailed, at half distance.

With little left to do but wait for the finish, I noticed a couple of spots where the hedges needed trimming.  By race end the hedges looked nicer, but the neighbors did not.  After a brief viewing, they didn't even stop to chat!  You may call that progress, but I call that impolite.  :P

It was a bit lonely in front but I was afraid of another disco which fortunately did not happen.

Same here, although was no way near the front!    Was also surprised my dsl lasted the distance.

I'm beginning to realise that I never really have a good event here. No matter which version...
Congrats to the podium!   And yes, to all finishers too.

Cheers,
Dave.

Walt - I would not blame you if you want to trade up the Cooper next time.

Thanks Billy, you are right that an adjustment to the balance of performance would put me in a faster ride. However, I am very happy in the Cooper this season. My long term goal has been to use a different car each season. Also, I enjoy seeing the Cooper on the grid.

On a separate note, I'll join the others in saying that Spa is not my best track.

Quite surprised to do so well here , decent qually got me on  4th grid place (though I made a complete sows ear of my fast  run ) then a good start plus a tow got me past phillipe into P2 which i managed to keep to the end . thought i had a chance doing the same to Bastian but a small error from me lost me the tow and he was off into the distance .

Wondered what happened to the rest of the fast boys and only found the answer when viewing the replay , what a mess  :o

A Lucky race due more to others misfortunes than my own talent,  but nice to taste the champagne on the podium  :)

Grats to all finishers

P.S. I LOVE SPA

An official replay helps co-ordinate incident report action, so they are usually available . . . sooner or later.

Has everyone found the new enhancement, which some chap pointed at from here? : https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13306.0

Its been ages since I've played on Legends and was quite rusty- nearly 4 seconds off pole says it all but I think there are some good drivers here this season. I got caught napping at the start and was tangled in the first lap chaos but reset stop and go and was running in clear air albeit near the back. A finish was what I wanted so I was over cautious in several places because I wasn't sure of where to turn in but I had a steady race feeling more capable as he race went on. I had some good racing near the end- not too sure who with but there was a Ferrari and maybe I am mad dogs nasty neighbour not sure/ hope not. Congratulations to the podium- well driven.

...quite rusty- nearly 4 seconds off pole...

That pole time would have put him 4th on the grid last time the Pros raced there, or 2nd the time before, on on pole himself (by 1.7 seconds) the time before that (granted, Hristo and Raoni were in a BT7 and a Cooper). Not bad for an "amateur". ;)

Walter, I like your thinking in using the Cooper all season- I tried it myself in season 26 and even won a few races!  Best of luck  :D
