Sneaked some laps in earlier, 1:03 (race fuel)for me so far. Car hustles along quickly but you just don't get the sense of it being a proper powerful beast, prob due to the slightly weak Kunos engine sound for it. Understeers like a barge at fast T1. Just hope we can race close enough in them in this shortened version of the track.

Not a big fan of the foggy setting, the track is almost black with a white sky. Very hard to see.

Think race needs to be a bit more than 25 laps to get 30 minutes.

I thought the default setup was quite tricky. Normally they are very safe and understeery, but it kicks quite a bit. Braking for the half of Maggots and Beckets is very tricky (read annoying).

If anybody has a proper setup  ;D

foggy, mainly white sky means i'm squinting ant the screen to reduce the contrast!

difficult car! i can do the odd lap but cant do two timed in a row!

If it looks different to the pic at the top (the fog) you might try turning post processing on and see if that helps, i think there might of been an issue with fog some time ago but i thought it was sorted.

The car is a challenge to drive at 98% you actually have to put some time into the car and practise, also, just go slower, you will find the car becomes much better.

I cant add my setup here because im on my phone but try lowering the rear arb and make the back softer. Also, try about 28psi all round.

Thanks, will try that setup.

Shouldn't the race be 29 laps for half an hour race, or do you expect us to fall off so often  ;D

Sorry, I really wanted to join this one, but I'm too exhausted to throw this car around for 25 laps  :(

I struggled to enjoy that sadly  :-( just don't like ill handling understeery cars on tight corner layouts. Plus I was really tired.
Q'fied well in 4th but that only lasted 1 or 2 laps before braking at beckets sent me spinning off to the back of the class.
Fought my way back up and enjoyed some chases with Frex but some mid race warping ruined things and I lost race pace as I wondered what the heck was happening to cars around me. Finished up 7th but had been sorely tempted to quit for last 5 laps.
Well done the front guys and congrats to JR on the win.

That was a lot of hard work. Imagine 24 hours in this  :o.

Lost a place to Chris at the start, as I just can't start in AC without the gear selection as an option. Luckily, this time I was able to stay close to him, and at the halfway point, he went a bit wide at T1, and we did the rest of the lap side by side, and I could just keep it infront at the last corner.

Tried desperatly to increase the gap after that, as these cars are a handful alone, but fighting in the meantime, makes it really hard.

Saw something about Mickey Mouse track, and at first I was worried as well when I saw it was the national version. However, the corners in this version, is what these cars saw back in the days, fast corners. The full track was demolished with the stupid hairpins and removal of good sections.

Only thing I didn't like about this track layout, was turn 2/3 halfway through Maggot.

The fog looked atmospheric, but it was so hard to see. If people had a dark car and no lights on...

Saw something about Mickey Mouse track ...

It was me.

Rant mode on (click)

For example, slow defensive line through Copse and no chance to overtake untill maybe Brooklands (easy to defend) and lap is finished.
Even if he make a mistake by going too deep at Maggotts, it is likely that he will out accelerate you ...

My point is no matter how many laps, there is not enough corners to make mistake or exploit someones.
These kind of tracks are good for slow cars but not for anything over 300bhp and less than ton of weight.

My race?
Not worth to remember any part of it as it started with, for me unexplainable, ping issues forcing me to skip qualifying (again)...

See you next race ...

:) :)  Held third place for six laps, then the inevitable, missed a downshift and dropped to fifth. the remainder of the race gaining on Picnic lap after lap, closed up  the last couple but unable to pass. Pleased to do a PB a few laps from finish. At first look this combo did not appeal to me, the more I drove it the better it was. Look forward to next week.

hmmm while waiting to join the server my ping went up to 180. Restarted the system, including the router and no change when joining. Chris followed me for a couple of laps in practice and reported no warping so decided to do the race. On start of race ping dropped to the normal twenties so all good. Except that in all the faffing around I'd put the wrong setup in. Still I'm not disappointed as the field was pretty strong n front of me and for that matter behind me at the finish.

Well done Chris for a brave choice of combo.

Enjoyed that, and enjoyed the GT40. Couple of mis-shifts and some intermittent lag episodes were unfortunate, but still good fun overall. Think I'll keep driver names on next time after letting MJ past, thinking he was lapping me with ChrisR

Congrats podium.

Though, but very enjoyable car. Even at this tight track. Unfortunately i loaded not the right setup, so was struggeling with understeer. Had a good first part of the race, but could not run the pace. Also experienced some stuttering mid-race, wich caused a small off. No idea why that happens really.
Would love to see these cars return on a track where it can stretch its legs. ;D Thanks for putting this one up Chris.
Now, where did i put the Audi keys..

I think if we're going to use fog again then people should work out where their button is to turn on their lights! As Jeff said, you could barely see the other cars without lights on especially if they were dark cars.

I didn't think the fog added to the racing here, just made everything hard to see! And also washed out the lovely colours of the gt40's. I wonder if it only looks good at certain tracks as I thought the fog looked great and atmospheric at Spa in a recent online race  :-\. Possibly the flat nature of silverstone meant it was grey skyline, dark ground dead horizontally split! I had to drive in the dark in my room just to be able to see  :P

That is true, you really had to wait for the other to make a mistake. That's indeed a big downside of short tracks.

Are you sure that wasn't just so the wife didn't know what you were up to?!  ;) ;)

Damn, I had a 50-50 chance of getting it right as the only time I ever saw you was through plumes of smoke. ;-)

* Fixed now.

Like i said when i started, i am going to put up combos "I" like and hopefully others like them too.. I am not going to start trying to please everyone.. It aint happening. As for the fog, i saw a challenge when trying to find brake points etc and i quite enjoyed it so i chose it..

I really do appreciate everyone who joined and made the effort, it is a nice feeling when others enjoy your combos. :) so thanks for the support.

I will give a heads up tho, i really enjoy driving tough cars.. So expect to practise if you dont want to be falling off the track every 5 mins.
