Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Seems like Deja Vu all over again. Didn't we run here very recently with similar cars?
I don't mind, just I had a worrying moment that I had an out of body experience.  ;D

This week it's Riverside/NASCAR for the Trans Am series.  One of those tracks that at first look seems  simple enough for a Sunday drive.  But can really end your day in many ways.  The objects close to the track (tires, walls and such) are deadly, and at racing speed will end your race with contact.  Here are some clipping of the early TA races.  In 1966 they were running in the low 1:40's so GTL is off a little as I think our "Go Fasters" will be in the 1:20's.
http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9431.0     Use caution guys on the first lap, in past races here on cold tires and these V8's we always lose too many drivers.  Now that I said that I will probably plow my Plymouth into a tire or wall at the end of the S's!!!!!!

See you all at the track
Bob M.

I was unable to see the server last night. I reset it and could log in fine
I have changed nothing, so it should be working.

I think Altbierbude are doing things to the server. I had to delete our server Lobby file to get it running over the weekend. Sometimes it appears to be running on our server but isn't showing up in the lobby  ???
Anyhoo Roger, try removing your lobby file and see if that fixes it.

1966 Shelby Mustang TA. If in doubt try to join the server with car choice. You will be told "Car not on Server" and be booted if it's the wrong car  ;)

Good start, good half race until i not made a little mistake so Geoffers could pass me. We were very closed with Attila on the last corner i was on wake to Geoffers, i tried to pass him to esternal line he defended his place so i decided to cross the internal line but i mistake it there was too few spece so i hit Geoffers. Then Attila gone away. Geoffers was second but he lost his car on  the S, so i finish second. Mercury Cougar was very good in the first half race, after tyres too problems. Honestly also without the accident between me and Geoffers i never could win these race, last laps very difficult. I m angry with myself i dont why but i m not driving well i m nervous......when i take a decision on the track i hurry in the last times. Maybe would be better i take some time pause.....i will see, at least so i can avoid to ruin the someone else race, sorry Geoffers !!!!!

Grats to Ati and Ziu, who were very quick at the front. Hard luck Geoffers, I thought you would be on the podium somewhere and all I could hope for was to get some of the champagne sprayed over me!!

A little surprised to qualify just behind the aliens and was so distracted by all the green tentacles waving in the air at the start, that I almost got swamped by the cars behind. But I just managed to hook up the gear change from 1st-2nd and get the power down without wheelspin. That propelled me up the inside of a very determined Erling at T1 and I managed to hold on to 4th spot.

For the first half of the race Erling did a tremendous job at holding Matt behind him as I slowly stretched out a few seconds cushion, and almost kept those fast guys in sight.
I had settled into a pace that was protecting the tyres and that was comfortable, hoping to avoid the zero grip and handling that I have had before at the end of the race. Geoffers and Ziu had an "incident" and Geoffers retired, promoting me up to a podium place. Then Erling let Matt escape !!
I could see the gap closing lap by lap, but as he got closer he did seem to be sliding things around a little more than I was, so I was hoping that he would pay the price in later laps.
Once he was on my tail I had to defend rather robustly and had just enough pace through some sections to keep him behind.
Then Matt did the gentlemanly thing and stuck it into the kitty litter allowing me a free run to the end and a taste of champagne straight from the bottle.
Maybe I could have pushed harder as the tyres were in very good shape at the end, so I was definitely not using ( or abusing) the rubber to the limit.

I've always liked Riverside but my race was quite uneventful. Early on I managed to pass Steve and then Roger near the start finish line (on different laps) and was able to close in on Erling after he made a small mistake. Tried a draft pass on the back straight but my entry into the final long right hander was all wrong and that wile e coyote passed me back and then proceeded to disappear as he went about chasing Jeep. After that my race was uneventful with constant times between the faster guys ahead of me and the not so quick guys behind.
Nice turnout (thank you  :thumbup2:)
Hope to see you all at Monza.

Excellent first half of the race battling with Ati & Ziu, unfortunately ended with an 'incident'. Raced on for another couple of laps but lost it in the esses & damaged the car more. Wouldn't brake well after that & when I couldn't stop it at the final turn & clouted the barrier again the car would not go where I was pointing it so parked it.

Congrats to the podium, cya next week.

Apart from practicing with the wrong Mustang, must learn to read, I had a good night. Working hard to stay out of passers way until I moved off line to let Ati7 pass (for the second time) and chose the wrong place to do it. As a result I was too far to the left to avoid the crash barrier as I tried to take the right hand part of series of esses damaging suspension and puncturing the left hand front tyre. ::)

Although I really struggle with these beasts I think this is a great series. I just wish I could understand how to set these up for racing. My fairly rudimentary set up skills are completely out of their depth when trying to make these handle.

Qualified 9th, so mid pack but got a good start and was up to 7th by T2. A lap or so later I passed Matt recovering from a slow exit to the Esses so into 6th but it was not to last and a few corners later I messed up and he got a run on me and put me back to 7th again. A lap or so later Bill passed me as well so back to 8th. From then on the harder I seemed to try the worse I got and I found myself being dropped back into a very lonely 8th . Sometime later passed a recovering Erling and was back up to 7th. A position I knew I would not manage to hang on to. Then found Geoffers struggling and was through to 6th but by now Erling was breathing down my neck and sure enough a few laps later I had to concede the position so found myself in a familiar 7th again which I hung on to until the end of the race. My tyres were completely shot for the last few laps and had Tony been closer I'm sure he would have forced me into a mistake.

So considering the trouble I have with these cars I was happy to still be on the lead lap at the end.

John.
