There is a practice server up of sorts, however I got Checksum errors when I first set it up. It appears that the car ACD file in the server contents is not the same as the one in the main games contents folders. I've overwritten the server one with the main game one, hope that was the right way to do it.

Nice, glad you have picked this car as I have been itching to race it since mentioning it a while back.  8)

Yup me too! And altough Monza is not my favorite track by any means, it will be fun with this great car! It is possibly my favorite one atm, however it is difficult to master..

Cool to have a skin pack too, tnx Chris. However i would like to park car no.24 in my pit garage  :)

which one is #24?

i would of chosen another track but i figured that the people who will find this car more difficult to drive wont be overwhelmed on monza as its really easy to learn and be consistent at.

either way this should be a decent combo :)

As it's with a pit-stop, then this pit app (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/pitconfig.8032/) would be useful  ;)

Ehhhhhh, the one with the flux capacitor?!.. :P

Aha, forced pitstops. I hadn't even seen that. Tnx for the app link Jester.

Nice job on the skin pack Chris, have d/loaded.  :)

This car is a proper race car, love it  8) The view from the cockpit reminds me of the Porsche 956/962 onboard vids I've seen before.
Only problem I have with it so far is how the heck do you brake strongly enough without turning your front tyres into 50 pence pieces? especially for the first chicane  :o
What might help encourage a few drivers is if one of you quick guys could do a replay vid of a good lap, 1:54 for me so far but sure I need to shave a few secs off that.

Couple of things really jumped out at me tonight:-  I literally hopped from Raceroom into AC tonight and boy can you tell the difference. The feel and feedback nuances you get in the steering in AC is absolutely superior to RR, which is numb and dumb in comparison. No contest IMO.
My fanatec club sport V3 pedals arrived today and they look superb kit, can't wait to try them in AC if they are as good as my wheel 8)

Secondly, I just installed the latest nvidia drivers and got a noticeable improvement in fps/smoothness. Also, Monza looked absolutely stunning! Not sure what they tweaked but it definitely looks better.  :)

On mediums im doing about 1'50's, i cant record ingame footage atm because my dxtory stopped working when they changed it to 64bit.

I can only manage 1:52s on mediums and full tank. Braking is before the 200 markers for me  :o
The Pit app (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/pitconfig.8032/) is updated and you now can set 4 presets.
I can run a practice server for tonight and set a pitstop testing server after that.

Will try and jump on your server if I can but got to knock up a new pedal footplate first for my shiny new pedals...that were too big for the footplate  ::)
They look the biz tho and with adjustable brake pressure so that might help with the braking in these cars  :)

Well, i was on the server quite late. Don't know if you got to try out your new pedal set MJ. Hope it will increase your racing experience.

Could manage to drive the F1 GTR without flatspotting the tires and do consistant laps. Only not that fast, i am stuck at 1.57 sec. So i will be racing at the back of the pack again. I do have an appointment in the evening before the race, so i sure hope i will be back in time for the race.

I've got my server running for testing pitstops with McLaren F1.
Server name: pit app test @Jester
Standard PW.
Track is Silverstone National, for short runs to test the pit app.
The new pit app (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/pitconfig.8032/) has 4 presets that it will remember even after you quit AC.

That went well, knocked a 1.2 off my pb  :) expected to be a few secs slower with the new kit until I got the hang of them...like driving a new car  ;D

Love this car, we need a series using them at a variety of tracks  8)

Took another half sec off in qually spec, 1:52.6 pb online for me  :)

Do wonder if the braking zones might be a bit of a nightmare for a group of these though  :-\ will all have to be extra cautious for the first chicane in particular.

Turning into the first chicane is weird, I wonder if its due to the central driving position??

:P :P : I predict turning into the first chicane will be more than weird tonight, starting from the back may be prudent!

The PitConfig app has just been updated to version 1.3, which has an improved UI. Functionality is the same as before though.

Sorry for the mayhem I caused at Lesmo 1, bit of oversteer on the way in. Hello barrier, spiny spin spin. I hope no one picked up too much damage

Hi Mark J, you were lagging causing contact with me at Ascari lap 1. I noticed it before in L1 but your ping didn't seem that bad. Ended up dead last but made it through to 4th which I can't complain about so no hard feelings :)

Title: Re: UKAC Fun Race - Mclaren F1 GTR @ Monza - Dec 2
Post by: Mark J on December 02, 2015, 10:11:10 PM +0000
Sorry Bob, assumed it was you lagging as your car was several metres ahead of me but then suddenly lifted at the rear and shot off ( but same thing happened behind Postal during qually). I thought there was a bug  with crash detection when it happened as there was a clear several metres between our cars  :-\

My race ended early when my car ran out of fuel with two laps to go  :'( no idea why as the fuel calc showed I should have had 5L too much!  ??? Was 5th or 6th at the time.

Car handling was carp compared to my practise (on the server) last night. I had understeer in the slower corners and oversteer in the quicker ones  :o but did get a thump up the bum on lap 1 first chicane so maybe that affected the handling.
Not quite the epic race I hoped for but cars looked superb on track.

the damage in AC is very sensitive, a slight knock on either the front of the back will effect the handling quite a lot.

my race was pretty uneventful i just set in for a chilled race.

One thing to note about these cars is that they are very touchy and don't respond to bullying well, to me they are an honest car which will drive as you want but you just have to take care of the little girl, a GT3 car this is not.

I look forward to driving this car in future, i can assure everyone it will re-appear again :D

oops sorry Chris  :-[ getting me Sutols mixed up  ;D

wonder if my early aero damage also affected the fuel economy? Not sure if Kunos model it that accurately, but maybe explain why I was so short on fuel at the end  :-\

I always use the mini app as a double check as far as fuel is concerned

it could of been iof you was doing faster lap times you would of used more fuel..

when i did my practice i was doing about 7.5L per lap but in the race it was 6.9 because i was slowing down and being cleaner

Dave's importer chucked out an error and I see the LAP CHART has me finishing in front of MJ even though he did more laps!

Thanks for this combo Chris, was looking forward to racing these cars for the first time. Unfortunately had to start AC before attaching my wheel, to be able to be in time for the booking procedure and thus was running without the Logitec Profiler... Big mistake, the wheel was very sensitive like it was on 200 degrees radius or something. The race was al about surviving for me.

So i hope we will see these cars again in near future as they are very good fun.

P.s. I was running 2/6 wings. Is that anywhere near the ballpark? I also did praccy with 3/8, but not realy faster in laptimes.

Had a solid second right up to lap twelve courtesy of others mistakes, loved the car it behaved like a dream, came in for a tyre change and fuel, like an idiot pressed repair car and sat there for well over a minute. Came out of the pits behind MJ in seventh place and finished in sixth after he pulled off track out of fuel. Looking forward to another with this car.

Not a good race for me. Was way to late on the brakes at the start, for the chicane (apparently not the only one  ::)) Let Chris go by as I felt I blocked his entry into the chicane. Then my brain refused to let me work the shifter properly  and so Robert got by too. A little later I had a go at Ed before the chicane, but again no control and a messy move, so let Ed back passed, as it didn't feel right. Then suddenly the car started to misbehave, throwing the car in a spin at every right turn  :o  It was on my in-lap so I decided to go for mediums as it felt like the softs caused this weird behaviour. the pit-stop worked as a charm and I had the fuel calculation spot on. Now on mediums it was better driving, but 2 to 3 secs slower a lap. So there was no more gain in places and could only get P5 in the end. Would not mind another go with this car, but I do feel like the behaviour is a bit erratic and I wasn't throwing the car around like a nutter.

So that was the reason why it felt too easy. That was my favorite spot to overtake so I knew, if I let you have first chicane, still have chance to fight back.

My race ... seems that we were all too late on brakes for T1.
I was behind Chris and plan was to go in T1 right behind him so when he braked and couldn`t make T1 for whatever reason, it affected me also. But, before I was able to take escape road, I was rear ended.

Not big hit but enough to have "weird" damage. It didn't affect top speed and car behavior, well at first, but rear tires went down too fast so exiting Parabolica was a nightmare after 3 or 4 laps. It was even worse after I "confirmed" my damage lap before pit stop so, initial pit stop plan without changing tires was no go.
Offline in same conditions, I was able to go 7 laps before Gussa`s app showed 99% grip and now I have 95% in 6th lap.

After pit it was boring as noone was close enough but, that "weird" damage strike again in very last lap in Parabolica.
Luckily didn't hit anything and had enough advantage to keep my place without sweat to the finish line.

btw @ Mark J - boxbox http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/boxbox.7652/ is another nice app for cases like yours. It stay`s in background until lap that you need to pit and than gives you warning and amount of fuel needed to finish the race ...
