cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro track pack for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

Hoping that all goes well this time and my connection remains good to the server. Done some practice and the track is enjoyable to drive so looking forward to the race.

Had a quick run at the leaderboard this morning and it's very tough to put in fast consistent laps here with so many places to lose/gain time (for me at least). It's a great way to prep for a race though as you can see the strengths/weaknesses of other cars as you follow them and how you can use that in the race.

http://game.raceroom.com/leaderboard/?track=1691&car_class=class-1703&driving_model=2

Hope we have a strong turnout for this one. MJ if you're reading this you really ought to try the GT3 Ruf. It's an absolute no-brainer for any racing Porsche fan.

I'm going to try and give this another go, having cleaned out my pedals.

Bit frustrating that none of the GT3 cars in the car pack are usable even though the GTR3 class is GT3's ::)

Yes I know. You do only have to buy a "skin" from the GTR3 pack if you've already bought one of the ADAC packs which contains the same car.

There is a competition just started where you can drive any of the GTR3 cars at Zolder if you want some extended testing with all the garage and setup options that you don't get with the "Test Drive". Might be useful to choose the car you prefer and don't forget to give that Ruf a drive as it's fantastic

I was on the server earlier with Joel and my car was flickering or disappearing on his screen again >:(

Weird thing is his car was perfectly fine on my screen and if he used the plus and minus keys on the number pad to change his primary camera on to my car it re appeared or stopped flickering completely too. I tried re testing after switching off opponent cockpits and reducing visible cars, neither worked? Maybe it is somehow linked to my refresh rate being set to 144hz? Was looking forward to the race tomorrow but seems like maybe R3E and multiplayer may have to go on hold until they sort out problems in my case.

How do you post your laptimes?

From this page just click launch event and it will fire up Raceroom. When you have set a clean lap it will show your position on the hud. When you exit the game refresh the leaderboard page and you'll see your position on the list.

We've had this before. A driver (Anty I think) was flickering at our Portimao event in practice but when he rejoined he was fine. I'll jump on the server now for half an hour if you're around to try it again.

So after some more testing this afternoon on the server with Joel i still have not been able to track down the cause of my problems. Every time i join the server we can do about a lap together with everything nice and stable and then my car starts to flicker and soon disappears completely.

I tried changing refresh rate, graphics settings, deleting my user profile and starting from scratch, verifying steam cache, adjusting settings in catalyst control centre, resetting my firewall rules, none worked. I would rule out my anti virus as Joel runs the same O/S as me and also uses the same A/V and his connection is rock solid. We both used wired connections too so no differences there. Also tried it out on some other servers beside the UK GTR one, again no different.

Looks like i am out for the time being, at least until the next game patch. Maybe that will solve my woes? My graphics card is not 100% anymore, occasionally it artifacts or shows rainbow textures, could that be related to the problem? Over on the S3 forum i submitted my log from the previous race and a dev said there was a large time difference between my computer and the server.

Sounds more like a connection issue between you and the server tbh, cant beleive it would be your PC. Sounds like something that happend in the past, i remember with GTR2, it might just need you to reconnect to the server.

Or your provider... If the packets dont get between you and the server then it might mean it doesnt know where you car is so it will just not show it?

Are you with the same providers? run a packet trace and see if there going similar routes? Maybe provider is blocking things, slowing theings down?

Just saying it could be many things, YOur PC is pretty dumb with these things and relys on the network to tell it everything, where the cars are, what they are etc

Could be but Joel is gaming from the same connection and he has no problems at all  ???

So your playing in the same house? Never a good thing for the network, so your single IP address is carrying both of your data? Might be more inherent with the game then as i imaging the code assumes one person per IP address.

I've raced here with my son through the same connection with no issues in GTL and GTR2.

Could be but Joel is gaming from the same connection and he has no problems at all  ???

Might it be some setting on your pc (AV or firewall) ? Maybe try logging into your RR a/c on Joel's pc and vice versa?

Yeah he is only 11 years old so i haven't managed to get him to move out yet  ;) We have never had any problems with racing this way in GTR2 or iracing so i wouldn't expect it to be any different in R3E. We actually did some R3E races in public servers a few weeks before we raced here and also had no problems with connection so i am baffled why it is so bad now.

Help, trying to join the server but if I put the normal practice PW in I get told bad password, if I use the race the seems to be loading the track and then I get dumped straight back out to the server list. What am I doing wrong? Where can I find an error message to help me out?

Just saw you trying to join Pete. Not sure what causes this but I've seen it happen to others so hopefully they'll pipe up.

Race password works. perhaps Tudor was reseting the server>?

Great race, though I'm sure I was just an annoyance to Tudor. I knew it would be pointless passing, I needed him in front, to aim at (for timing purposes, you understand). So confronted with his car on a wide line, or slow exiting, I dared not go past.
He eventually got a break, when I cut that first corner. I could see the kerb coming, had to just grin n bare it. From then on including a bit of "Oh... hum, shoulda braked a touch more then". I was just slipping farther and farther, back.

Grats to the podium gents and to the other finishers. Thanks for the opporchancity.

Fuel usage, was between 28 and 29 litres.

Results are a little off, probably because TM left early. He finished 5th

Joined the server expecting to be leaving with connection issues but for some reason everything was fine! Did my best lap of the week for the pole lap and got a good start to the race to lead away. Got my head down to turn some fast laps but wasn't initially gapping Berger as fast as i was hoping for.

After a few laps he got a cut penalty at the Schumacher S and after that i was able to get in to a nice flow and stop watching the timings so closely. Enjoyed the race. Fuel usage was around 28l if my memory serves me correctly. Grats to Berger on second and Joel on third.

Couldn't find a forum name for Tim and Angelos, so they are in as "unknown" for the moment.
COuld JoelBlue set his country in his pfofile so the results will give him a nice little flag? Ta.

Tudor, you left the race before the countdown had finished, so it has mareked you as not finished
we will sort it, but please could people wait for the 120 secs to complete before leaving
I set it at 120 secs because some of us earth dwellers can be a while in finishing...  ;D
Nag over. Good racing from where I was sat, either I am even more carp than i think, or the
Stephen is wayyyyy better on the brakes than I am  ::)

I "think" the server is set to no fuel. Could be wrong, but my fuel was 100ltr all the time
EDIT: just checked while restarting the server for Thiursday's Gr5 event, fuel is set to "normal"
But I saw 100 start to finish

only managed about 30 mins practice for this race due to stroppy 3 year old not wanting to go to bed, so I just tried to keep out of everyones way for the first few laps till I got my braking points sorted. started well and was swapping places, but then little mistakes running wide (and getting slow down penalties) meant that I drifted back. Starting to prefer this game to AC (apart from the limited amount of tracks available).

@GT, On the subject of tracks will we need any of the American tracks for the 3 series you are organising, because the American track pack is on 60% discount at the moment

hello,

i did not watch my fuel at end of race, but around 25l or 28l what i did read is very much not much,
as then perhaps maximal 40min. are possible (or lower).

i know in ADAC GT2014 master cars i can do totaly easy 40min. races, the 100l start to get down after many laps (perhaps after 15-20min. but not sure) , so probably the ADAC GT cars have a 140-150l tank perhaps, so that they can do longer races, i am nearly sure 1hour with ADAC GT master cars are possible.

probably the GT3 class have not so big tank and the start to get down from 100l (which in R3E is maximal in HUD, but any cars have bigger tank) start more early (i did not watched during race, damn) as with the ADAC GT cars.

for longer races the ADAC GT cars are better then (but people must buy this for 9.99euro, or perhaps cheaper if you own GT3 cars already, but not sure), or you must set the fuelusage to OFF in GT3 class and only make pitstop for tyres, then endurance races possible, but later comes pitstops for fuel too in this game, but no idea when.

i did a good race, but jayblue was to quick and 2xcutpenalty was not good too, damn cutpenatlys....

servus

Oops, forgot about that  :-[

Angelos has been trying to register but keeps getting the spam message.....I pm'd Dave earlier but I gave him the pw as he was so keen to join us this evening.

Not sure who Tim was but I was trying my best to find out all race  ;)

You don't have to be so shy Eck, I know you were dying to get past me  :-*

Thanks for posting your fuel usage it's my little fetish at the moment, but it might also be handy for some of next year's racing  ;)

I used around 27 litres for the race which corresponds to my earlier testing. The GTR3 cars have bigger 100L tanks so it seems that 1.5 hour races are possible until refuelling is implemented...Soon.

Edit: Ah, I see what you say Reinhard. Yes the HUD only shows 100L at the start but it takes a while for fuel to show use therefore there must be more than 100L to start. We'll need to test this as that throws out my calculations.

I'm planning on using tracks from the European and American track packs + Spa and Paul Ricard, so yes 60% off is worth grabbing  :)

Got on the server by picking a different car, was trying to use the GT3 Merc but got the Content Server 20103 error. It tells me I own it. I raced the Nissan in the end.

Spanner and I were on TeamSpeak and Spanner mentioned he could see tyre wear in a panel on the right of his display (toggled on/off with the 5 key) I can't get this to work, any ideas? The options page shows it on or off if I check after pressing 5 but nothing appears on the screen.

Seems to me it's not just the multiplayer in alpha :(

I finished 5th  :sweatdrop:

I think the 7 is the AC vette. The RR vette is the Z06.R which I believe Dave has now added.

That's me. I registered not long before the race started. I added my location in my profile.

It was a good race. I could tell right from the start this is a great group of racers. I don't think there was an incident in T1. Perfect mix of aggression and caution. I had a hard time keeping up with Joel. I blame the twitchy Vette  ::)

Sorry, I meant to keep track of my fuel, but I forgot to look what it was at the end of the race.

Also, how do I get on a team?
