Thanks for putting up your server Erik, could only jump on for 45 minutes. Car felt awful compared to last I tried it Spa, it was loose and oversteery and started to get snap oversteer underbraking. Though braking prob may mean I need to shift the balance forward now I've got more accurate new pedals. :-\

Yes, thank you Erik for providing the test ground. More fun doing laps when more drivers are around and comparing lap times.

And MJ thanks for letting me try your setup. It felt pretty good to me! Could it be that it was on a different tire model version last time you tried the Beemer at Spa?
I can agree on the brake balance thingy as i was experiencing the same oversteer under braking. Adjusted a few clicks more to the front and all was good. Managed 4 seconds off my previous effort here. But don't worry, still not near your 2.47sec mark. ;)

Was on the server for an hour tonight but no one else showed up, shame. Made a few tweaks and got much happier and consistent with the car  :) Shifting the brake balance solved my snap oversteer too thankfully.

Just managed to do a 2.50 last night. God these things are slow, i thought they were quicker than this. Yes the new tyres again have been the main culprit to work around, kept loosing the back under braking despite low 60s bias, but eventually found i had to push it further forward. So little grip that the the fronts just understeer through the hairpins.


Maybe you need to push the practise more, as clearly offline is not the same conditions and minght have jumped on if i thought there was one.

Yeah guess they are a little slow compared to the modern stuff but you only realise it up the Kemmel straight. Been faster down that in my 30yr old 911 than these manage  :P
Odd your getting understeer, I've found them more oversteery since tyre updates.

I was however sidetracked, when Darren asked for something and by the time I was done with him, you were no longer on ;D
I managed a 2:44.7 on the server the day before, with softs and race fuel. Not sure if I go with gear set 1 or 2 yet. gs1 feels better for going through the turns and it's less shifting, but gs2 is more stable in general, but more sluggish in the turns for me.

I believe booking is from an hour before practice session starts

Server will be up for about 60 mins before the event start, so from 7:15pm UK time. If you do book in early it's always checking before event start the booking is still there as I sometimes mess up and have to restart the server  :-[

We do have a TeamSpeak server, details here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5646.0) Spanner and myself are usually the only 2 on during AC races.

An eve of mixed fortunes for me.

Had a great qually and spanked my pb by 1.1 secs  :o but still only managed 5th behind the aliens  :(

Race start was a disaster, Jeffs comment of seeing me lag and then Ed disappearing right in front of me as the lights changed made me think I was in trouble so I totally screwed up my start, and rapidly got passed by the whole grid while I fumbled my shifts.  :'(
Caught and passed everyone straightforward enough except not sure if lag caused a tap on spanners rear or he got too close to la source inner wall. Got no thump nor damage indicator flash up on my car but saw his car go off sideways  :-\ it added to my paranoia!
From then on it was Billy no mates time in no mans land again, not near the front 3 and pulling away from the rest of the pack.
Until about lap 6 or 7 when Ed suddenly appeared on the leaderboard behind me from nowhere, that woke me up! Alas I had a silly spin when I took too much kerb and he galloped past far too easily  :(
That was that really, plodded around finishing 5th.

Good to see a new face tonight and quick too. As usual a couple of different people went awol this eve so we hover around the same attendance but everyone is busy so no surprise.

I enjoyed the championship despite often running solo and will miss the classic Beemer, but time for a new series, hope you guys enjoyed it. :)

Thanks to all that were involved in the organisation of this series. I really enjoyed driving this car and had some good races. I don't know what the plans for the next series are but i'm certainly looking forward to it.

plus with my 5th placed overall drivers position behind the aliens, quite a happy bunny.  :) Could have been 4th if I hadn't throw my 4th place away to Ed last night. The series went well I think with a nice range of tracks to throw the old school beemers around on  :thumbup1:

Just need to find out why I am getting lag all of a sudden for last two events :-\ pings good and Q=100 in my race so not sure why. Probably blinking windows 10 annoying upgrade reminders  ::)

shame about that hit, was shaping up quite well. Tried saving the replay but couldnt see it in the list to watch it. Definitely felt like a hit from the rear.

But otherwise was good fun, did Ed have the turbo fitted? he seemed to come speeding past us all! Plus Picnic constantly distracting me, reckoning i had my lights on. Seems like the lights are reversed, inside vs outside!

In my defence in the later laps i wasnt going off on purpose, the lack of grip meant i was struggling to  keep it staight!

 

Shaping up for what? You wouldn't have finished any higher than you did with that laptime difference  ;) ;D
But apologies all the same if it was contact, I was a couple of metres behind you when you car spat sideways so must have been the dreaded lag  :( odd that it didn't  give me any damage or hit sounds though. :-\

No, not on wireless Jeff! Never had problems with lag until last week and now again. Odd.

Maybe use something like ping plotter, to see if your internet has hickups.
