Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Tony, remember racing here before but Xd is not showing fuel consumption/No of laps available on that amount of fuel! Is it me or have I missed something, all OK at Paramount Ranch on Monday. ::)

Have tried all my available cars and they're the same - no read out of laps available on remaining fuel, advice please.

It is highly likely that when I reset the server after Monday night's race I forgot to adjust the fuel usage ratio. I can fix this when I get home tonight. I do not know if this is related to your problem.

Hi. I'm going to message some of our Spanish drivers to see if they can help you.

This is a tough event as it's long and will involve pit stops. Have you done pit stops in GTL before?

Sorted, I think I tried the 4 cars I have left to drive, on what should have been timed laps, visiting too much scenery for it to be considered a timed lap!!  ::)

Picked a car and ran a few slow laps to remember where the sharp corners are and achieved a number of valid laps with fuel consumption working OK.

Nothing much to say about this race except very sorry to Rog for punting you off at T2. I waited & thought you had gone past only to realise later around the lap that you were still behind. Cruised around the rest of the lap & quit when you left.

Not really enjoying these 50s endurance races, so may give the rest of them a miss.

Too bad yesterday for me, I had 2 choice or Maserati 5.7 or 4.5 and i took Maserati 4.5, i dont expalin why i choice Maserati 4.5 but i ready to choose again it.

About Maserati 5.7 my time lap on practice it was 2:18,5, i think it was possibility improve it on qualy, If I choice Maserati 5.7 but I repeat i m ready to take Maserati 4.5 again for sure because the winner yesterday finish in 1h and 01 minute, i think that i could go under 1h with Maserati 4.5, it was my program before start the race but just passed some laps i mistake, starnge mistake but important now i understood why i mistake..........I dont want explain on this post.

I want say thanks so much to Bob, he saved the situation and now our time has the possibility to fight for Team championship.............and Bob is very close to Erling on drivers Championship, Great Job Bob !!!!!

I want conclude saying to Geoffers very grats for his qualy lap with Ferrari 250 TR, I dont believed it was possible get 2:26 with 250 TR here.

Well, if you hadn't overtaken on the inside through that curve, I wouldn't have been on the grass, so I'm afraid you had a part in it - I couldn't make the turn in the outside lane  :(

Grats to podium and all finishers, and commiserations to those who did not make it to the flag.

I'm still kicking myself over my dumb mistake, when I had a good chance of a comfortable 2nd place ( assuming I did not screw up the pit stop, where I would only need fuel and no tyres.....at least that was the plan!!).

I experienced something that I think Erling mentioned in an earlier race. During quali there were nice dark shadows on the road indicating braking areas...but in race they had all vanished and I was hunting for a braking marker at all corners, especially at the final 90 degree. As a result I was either braking far too late, or way too early!!! each with predictable results.
I had to park in the grass bank whilst following Erling when he also ran wide at the last corner. I might just have made the corner had his Fezza not been parked at a jaunty angle, but I did not wish to damage his car ( or mine) so early in the race. After I chased down Bob and eased past to take 2nd I built a nice gap, although I was losing ground to that big Maserati and DTR up front. But maybe I would recover some time at the pitstops??

I made the mistake of admiring how well the gap was growing after the first esses as I crossed that wooden bridge, instead of concentrating on the road. I clipped a pole and the car was airborne and spinning, despite landing on 4 wheels and scoring 9.8 for style the car was dead so I retired.

mental note...maybe turn off the HUD showing gaps so that it is not a distraction? is it possible to toggle that info with a key??

Last time we ran here with these cars, I rammed people and wrecked my 5.7 mazzer, so took the Aston
as it was less likely to come to grief.. wrong.
I slowed to avoid someone else's mistake in T1 and still ended up upside down, no damage, so set off last
after the field to find Geoffers recovering at the bridge, gave room, and was so busy trying to keep to one side
I impaled the car onto a bridge fence post which wrecked the steering. sigh

I believe you mean the XD data showing drivers names and relative distances to you.
In your main GTL folder you will find XD.ini which has all the information for customisation. You may find it better to move the data box to an alternative area of your screen instead of turning it off altogether?
All XD on screen info can be toggled on/off with the "\" key (I think).

I realise that I only achieved a podium place due to the misfortune of others and I'm not to happy about that. I had fueled my car for one short stint then a pitstop for a full tank and hoped I would not need tyres (I didn't). Clean laps up to pit time meant I was in a good place and after a clean pit stop I set off with perhaps more ambition than skill. I then had two laps where I managed to ock-up nearly every bend and braking point which not only damaged my car but caused me to drop places  :censored:
The remainder of the race was making sure I kept Michel a safe distance behind me as I was never going to catch the leading three. So I'll take the points but not in a joyous way.
Do hope Geoffers reconsiders.

Come time for the next 50s race I probably will. I enjoy driving these cars but I don't think they produce very good racing, particularly on these fast unforgiving tracks. I was just really annoyed with myself last night for ruining Rog's race right at the beginning that I lost interest in carrying on after he left.

Tony, I think that you deserve this podium, if you finish race it s mean that you drove well.  If someone did mistake as me it s mean that we maybe don't understood well race with these cars. For example about me, I was racing on Erling, I wanted take many advantage on him before the pitstop, at least 30 seconds so I started push hard immediately...... This has been my mistake, I saw the race on limited way, you no, you have drove clean without any mistake, you deserve podium. I don't see replay  but if you are third that mean you drove best than me. Speed not it s all specially with these cars. I was driving Fifties car as a Procar, this is my mistake so I out after 3 laps and you are third, it s right so !......and a good lesson for me also.

Had a promisingly looking race that ended in disappointment.

Made a slow start on my slippery vintage tyres. 1st lap seemed to contain the usual mayhem, despite 'take it easy' recommendations before the start.  I regained a couple of the lost places, thanks to the misfortune of others.  Then encountered a strange braking problem over the early laps. It wasn't the missing black stuff on track that Clive mentioned, as I relied on trees & telephone poles for brake markers, but the car simply wouldn't stop in the distance I had worked out in practice - I kept overshooting the corners.  Later it became normal again (all in my head maybe ?)

Caught both Clive & Franky overshooting the final corner and had a golden opportunity to overtake both, but the above mentioned brake problem caught me, so I head butted the barrier instead.  Franky recovered quickly and was gone.  I had Bob & Clive behind when I got going again. Clive got past Bob after 1 or 2 laps.  Managed to keep him behind, until I stuffed it in the barrier in the same place again.  This time Clive joined me, but I was stuck on the barrier and took a long time to pry myself loose, now several places down.

Decided to invoke my early pitstop strategy. Rejoined in 5th, all by myself, but then I could at least concentrate on just driving.  Regained places as others pitted, finding myself in 2nd, 1½ minute behind Franky.  He would have to make a very long pitstop, if I should catch him. He did, and I went into 1st, just as he was on his way out.   That gap would never hold against a monster Mazza.  Lasted longer than expected though, as I believe he went off a couple of times while chasing me.  He was biting 5 secs out of my lead on his good laps however, and eventually passed me down the main straight.  He then spun under braking for the final turn and I couldn't avoid his car.  We got going again, unfortunately with me in front, as Franky now pressed an overtake through the fast right-hand kink after start/finish.  Had to stay on the outside lane and thus couldn't make the turn.  Drifted onto grass and grazed the fence, which caught and destroyed the car  :(   Race over and an almost certain 2nd converted to 6th.

Disappointed over this, as with such a massive speed advantage and 3 laps to go, Franky could easily have passed in a safer place.

Commiserations to my fellow DNF'ers and a partially lukewarm grats to the podium  :-\

Cheers,
Erling

Hello.
Sorry for my English (translator google).
Erling GP,  get angry with me for your mistake,
I apologized and I  wait, seeing the repetition thing ought not to do,  was a very very clean overtaking and before the curve.
I'd rather ser last and no one gets angry.
I am saddened by his words. :'(
Just looking for fun, I am not good pilot simply had the best car, but I'm not a cheater.
I would have liked to run with the F1 Monday, but better not disturb,
Until always.
Greetings to all

Don't take it that hard Franky.  I still think you could have found a better place to pass, but there was no contact between our cars, so maybe you're right that it was 'my mistake'.  If I hadn't made it though, we would probably have collided - I needed to drive where your car was to make the curve.

I do wish you'll join us for F1 on Monday, if you feel like it - don't stay away because of a single, silly incident!

Cheers,
Erling

Gentlemen, if I may take a moment to remind you of our rules at SROUK

Under no circumstances should drivers engage in discussion of incidents in a public forum (including in-game chat). In particular, no attempt should be made to apportion blame.
A brief mention of an incident may be made in a public race report.

We have an incident moderation procedure in place and everyone is encouraged to use it, if they feel it necessary.

I don't want to lose any driver(s) from our league due to bad feelings, harsh words or simple miss-understanding.

We all come here to enjoy the s(t)imulation of historic cars racing and each others company. Let's not lose sight of the fact that it is fun, we all make mistakes, and every other driver is a numpty.

WT

Congrats to the Podium trio and all the Finishers, and bad luck for the rest, it was kind of a tough race, I picked the slowest car of the pack I guess, the SLR, since it was an endurance race I thought to race with minimum damage to reach the chequered flag, in practice I tried the Maserati but it was too hard for me to handle it, I dunno how you do it guys but I span a lot with it's monstrous engine !!

I reached the Finish lane 4th mainly due to the misfortune of the good drivers ahead of me but mainly my race was lonely, I race with Bill in the opening laps then caught Tony after his Pitstop when he went straight on T1 and I said Yessssss its my chance to pass him but a few laps later I pitted for Fuel and he passed me with his Huge Mazzza and couldn't catch him again !!!

Hope to see you on the track next monday !!!

Cheers

Michel
