Championship Standings (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=501&theme=1)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

I think the differences are only in the pit config and start/finish line location.

Hmm, love to do these but i've tried these out on the test track and not sure i could drive any of them!

Yeah, your right Mark, but I wanted to check which leaderboard I should be using. BTW I cannot drive these either.

Edit: Just checked and the server is running the GP version of Spa which I presume is as intended.

This is the "Grand Prix" version, it is, as stated just a question of where you start from, the layout is the same.
This is the second time I've scheduled these cars at Spa, and I will miss this one again  :cursing:
I might make the GTL-F1 event Monday night if I can drive down to Brum after the race, but I will miss this one.

I can't really drive any of these Gr5 cars properly either, but they are a great drive if you can get it together well enough
The only one that I can drive anything like half decent is the Vette. I set everything at the front to max hard, and the rear to max soft
it understeeers too much, but I can gennerally finish a race. Sometimes I can then soften the front a bit to get a bit more pace without killing all
the spectators, but I have to start from max rear grip.
They are turbo nutter cars, not quite as nutter as Tony's Gr5 Bemmer series a few years ago, they were insane  :o
but these do need a very gentle right foot  ::)

Bought the cars & track the other night & tried the BMW 320, didn't find it too difficult get round Spa as long as you were a little careful on corner exit. Did 2.22 fairly comfortably with limited setup changes, so should be able to do 2.20s with a little more fiddling. Obviously that isn't going to challenge the front runners but getting to the end is the main priority!  ;D

Only really tough part for me here with these cars is the new bus stop chicane, actually thinking about it I might have made
the previous event  ??? I vaguely remember MJ getting excited by that chicane  ::) you have to almost stop and be sooooo
carefull with the power there, otherwise it's a good track for these beasts.

Hey Gents

These cars for me are pretty realistic. You need a few laps to get the tyres warm. Last season I was too hasty in race start lap one and I lost it on existing the S's. I did some setups today, the car feels better for me this time around, but tomorrow I get my new wheel, so I will have to calibrate it again. Hopefully I can be on pace before the race on Thursday. My week is pretty hectic. Martin we will miss you Champ.

Enjoy the week.. See you guys on Thursday

The steering feels really light, like it's not connected to the front wheels. Can I change something to give more steering "resistance"?

control settings>steering force

increasing vertical load can help too

Also consider running 100% steering rack instead of tyre forces as it feels more RL imo.

Tony, try increase your lateral load to 160 and set vertical to 80, I half it. Steering rack to 100, and understeer to 60, max force intensity to about 140, also in your profiler allow the game to change the setting enable. This works for me, but for others it might not. Thats on my G27. Tomorrow Will be whole other ball game for me, I am tredding new ground.. Ant

spa/group 5 is a realy highlight, i did in past weeks not so much drive R3E, but if i did jump in capri, and did hear this extrem good sound i was in fun modus again, realy a simracing highlight this capri in spa is to drive. very much fun, but very difficulty too (for me).
i did 20min. (or was ths session 30min.??) practise and in beginning it was very difficulty to get clean laps, so i think i was in 2.19.xxx in end of practise (should be a little faster in race, as racesession is faster then practise)

hope for much drivers on thursday.

We have started using the traditional practice password, which you can see with the link near the top of the event home page.
Which will be changed for the race event to the one you know.

Not touched RR for about a month but will hopefully join in tonight as love grp5 cars (and Spa!). Lack of steering feel is what's deterred me from using this sim much, and I've got relatively high end wheel and pedals.

I hated the steering after that last "update" but I have sort of got used to it again, or I have hit on an acceptable
compromise. For most tracks/cars I set it at 400/13 and it feels ok. For Macau I set it at 400/30
to get the lock required to get round the hairpin, but it still felt ok, so maybe the problem is all in my head... ???

I will miss this one as I am banished to the Black Country (ok Birmingham city centre) I will be back in Manchester next week
so normal racing (life) can be resumed. I need someone to be server minder tonight if possible. I will reset the server
at around 19:45 with the race password, hotel wifi dependant, please can someone log on at 19:45 to make sure
the practice clock starts correctly, then stay logged on ?

Ta
Matt.

I'll be there in the Bimmer. Down to 2.20s in it now after messing with the gearing so that I can give it a fair amount of throttle exiting most corners without the turbo kicking in & sending it around in circles!  :o  Only problem I still have is slowing it for the chicane & La Source, I can get it stopped but I have to make sure I'm down to first while the car is in a straight line. Changing down to first with any lock on just loses the rear end, think it is to do with the way the auto-clutch is working. It's better now I'm using a higher first gear, but still can't attack those 2 corners as I would like.

Should be fun!  :w00t:

Nice race. I learnt my lesson last time out.. So this time I took it easy on the start of the race, pushed a few laps, had a few hairy moments.. But overall nice race..

A few people left early, I hope next time we will be more.. Well done all..

yeah, I think you're right there. I think I was 4th

Decent race for me - a great few laps at the start with lots of dicing, but in the end Reinhard got the better of me and there was no way I could say with it, so it all settled down into a matter of managing the gap behind and not pushing too hard

At the start of the race Geoffers was flashing in and out for me and I think this resulted in contact where upon his car completely disappeared. I could see a red triangle on the track map in front of me but no car on track. I had a similar invisible car in one of the previous sessions. Is this common?

If people leave before the race timer ends the the results order gets messed up. I have no replay so can't see who was actually where
if someone can confirm the actual order I can edit it.

No it's not common, but we have seen it a couple of times before. "seems" to be related to a dodgy conn. Jim thinks it can be
avoided by setting "show other car's insides" or something like that to off.

hello,

yes john finished the race in 2nd and i was 3rd,
he leave the serve to early, so this is reason why he is not in results. he did not wait till the after race times did go to 0.00 sec. (dump problem in r3e this is)

so i can confirm that john (or chunky in forum) was 2nd.

..and sorry to anty for hard hit  for brake in T1 in start, i did push the clutch pedal and not the brake pedal  :helpsmilie:  and was thinking...what the hell, why my car do not slow down...

I had the same problem with the car in front of me, Postal's Monza I think, it disappeared early on the first lap but according to the timing was only 0.5s ahead of me. By the end of the lap it was behind me according to the timing, so must have passed him somewhere!  ???

Was good fun although I had no one to race after I spun twice getting the change to 1st wrong at the chicane. Then on the final lap the car just cut out! Coasted to a halt, pressed ignition & start & it fired up again, most odd  ???. So for the second week running the race finished before I crossed the line. Why have they put such a stupid system in place. The driving in this game is really good, but most of the rest of it is rubbish.

Congrats to the podium.

Sorry to hear your wheel and pedals are not connecting properly with R3E MJ. Most frustrating things indeed.

The start was a bit of a gamble with Geoffers car suddenly reappearing going onto the Kemmel Straight! Eeeks, luckily it didn't cause any collisions. Was a bit causius after that happening.
Did some leaderbord laps earlier and the car felt very different for the race. Sliding like mad somehow. Did not take notice of any environment parameters, are there any? Anyhow, tried to keep as much pace as i dared, but the Dekon Monza seems no match for the 935 and Capri's. Was fun until i seemingly wrecked the gearbox and wasn't selecting gears anymore.

Geoffers posted in the R3E forum on here about the new cars in GTO they look very appealing
They will be included in these series somehow when they are released.

I know a guy from Rawtenstall with 2 NSU race cars, neither are fast, but look cool, and are "interesting"
"Maybe" if people want it we could run a spec race with it, but unless it gets some friends in the same group
I am unlikely to add it as a single car.

I will edit the results, I may need some help to make the champ scores update.

I got the pedals working by deleting all my previous controller presets in the game and reconfiguring everything   ::) but the steering is completely screwed, I couldn't even get out of the pit lane for about 25 mins no matter what changes I made to the confusing range of force and wheel  settings  ???
How do I return all to default and start again? The stupid game thinks my wheel, pedals and gear stick all want their own controller preset!? Rather than sensibly knowing all 3 are meant to be part of the same controller preset.
The wheel input is awful, like I turn my wheel 90 degs but car only turns say 35 degs and rubbish feedback. This is a 400quid fanatec wheel and yet despite numerous game updates it still sucks big time. In AC it's amazing.  ::)

Not having such exotic hardware I can't help much, but you seem to be having an unusually awful lot of trouble with steering
I use as G27 and it "just works" They have Fanatec support so it should work fine, they have realeased several updates
for Fanatec support.  There is loads of help out there for e.g:

Hi Mark

I just got a CSW wheel.. I am running My G27 pedals. Mine works good, I loaded the 222 beta software for drivers and profiler, also you have to tick combined pedals in your profiler. Also when installing software make sure all your devices are powered on.

PS I run windows 10, so please make sure your drivers are compatible with your operating system.

Sorry for high jacking the thread

I was actually enjoying it, having decide to join at short notice and seemed to get a resonable handle on the car. but i decided to stop as i was getting too uncomfortable. Having done an hour race the night before i didnt want to push things too much. Hope things improve.
