Title: UKGPL 65 Fun - Nassau Oakes Field Course - Jan 5 Post by: Cookie on January 04, 2016, 10:54:57 AM +0000 65s Funrace at Nassau Oakes Field Course
To learn the new track on the sunny Bahamas "Nassau Oakes Field Course" we use the 65 cars. During 1954 – 1966, the Nassau Speed Weeks were a high-octane end of season ‘play-off’ in the sun between Americans and Europeans – serious racing and even more serious partying! 1966 was to see the last of the Speed Weeks for the time being. This track (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=11166) was created by Remy and Ginetto for the upcoming CanAm 66 mod ::) (http://picload.org/image/wrriaio/nassau.jpg) Free car choice and no restrictions, but try to drive like gentlemen and let's all have fun!
GLA and have FUN Title: Re: UKGPL 65 Fun - Nassau Oakes Field Course - Jan 5 Post by: Jani Posta on January 06, 2016, 08:46:58 AM +0000 Due to technical problems I had to skip the race. With 29-60-30-48-52-30-43-etc. FPS the start would have been pretty dangerous...
Congrats Robert! Well done Roo! Title: Re: UKGPL 65 Fun - Nassau Oakes Field Course - Jan 5 Post by: Robert Fleurke on January 06, 2016, 02:45:54 PM +0000 I'm a bit under the flu, and was a late decision to try to race...
One of the hardest I ever did under the circumstances, so hard to keep focus. But only had one mistake losing 2-3 seconds while leading, and let Clive unlap before the checkered flag...in reality Roo had a way better pace, but since he forgot to load racefuel the win was mine, also as Dean made mistakes... Was pretty used up after the race, and had some good sleep ;) Thanks all for racing and Axel for hosting :) Title: Re: UKGPL 65 Fun - Nassau Oakes Field Course - Jan 5 Post by: Cookie on January 06, 2016, 02:48:54 PM +0000 A really great track, but it needs some laps to learn it...
Los of fun fighting with Andreas, Doni and Bob ;D I had some big problems too, even my PC is strong enough, I had massive framedrops in quali and race that made racing hard. The last corner was tricky til the end when frames went such low that I could hardly find a line. In quali I had left the server to investigate what is going on and found that the AMD Crimson software wanted to upgrade, but shuting this down did not help. In the training sessions I had solid 60fps! Title: Re: UKGPL 65 Fun - Nassau Oakes Field Course - Jan 5 Post by: Robert Fleurke on January 06, 2016, 03:48:21 PM +0000 I'm usually having hickups with 65s, but also at this track in quali in the pitlane I would be thrown to the wall immediatly, having to reset to start without damage...
(my pitposition clashed with the Firestone stand that needs a bit of pitlane space, so pitpositions need to be edited) Title: Re: UKGPL 65 Fun - Nassau Oakes Field Course - Jan 5 Post by: Robert Fleurke on January 07, 2016, 04:56:41 PM +0000 The pitlane bug has been fixed, a new track.ini has been added to the first post ;)
