Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Wooha..... this one is bound to be dramatic and fun. It's so  easy to miss your braking point, when somebondy is on your tale down along one of the the straights :fencing:

If you're an ace with the brakes, this should be your track

Yep, see you there  :thumbup1:

A simple little track compared to Spa. This one usually creates some seriously close racing, at Spa it can be more about
gap management, here the gaps are sometimes a cars length  :o

Welcome Greg.  :thumbup1:

I don't think RRE has Multiplayer fuel sorted yet but anyway we don't set anything for fuel; just take the default.

With the server swapping between Historics and GT3 events now, we probably have not yet got used to how each wants it.
I set fuel to x1 these sprint style races never (so far) have used enough fuel to need pitstops, but I set tyres to x1 or "normal"
and fuel to x1 to hopefully get some change of handling toweards the race end.

I set the practice server for this one after Sunday's GTR3 race and just presumed we would be running x1 (or normal) fuel and tyres. Maybe change the race announcement to avoid confusion?

Had a few practice laps and the Datsun grunt seems to have the legs here but is horrible in the corners. Think I'll go for the big bimmer.

No time for practice here, so giving it a miss to concentrate on next Monday's GTL race.

Volvo is quite quick down the straight, the Datsun may be a bit faster, but is less stable
I like the Volvo best, if you want a more exciting time try the Datsun or the small Beemer

Don't think I will be racing RRE again, every time I seem to have other cars disappearing & reappearing & I think this time I was lagging badly again as I seemed to be changing positions on the timing without actually passing anyone. Either my system or my connection is not up to running this & I am spoiling other peoples races. Have fun all, maybe see you sometime in the future.

hi geoffers,

yes sadly your car did jump forward and backward like crazy and do blink blink blink very much too, i had NO idea where you was exactly on track, in start/T1 this was already difficulty and 1 or 2 laps later i did hit you and i was much behind, no idea why sometimes people in this racegame do have problems with connection, think the online system in this racegame is not 100% perfect, sadly.
after this i was much behind and demotivated, later i did hit a other car in T1 brake, as i did not calculate his brake point correct, as my car is much more late brake car, sorry for this (think p. alnutt).

race for victiory it did looks very close what i did see in timegaps, tonight i was not able to fight for good result, next race should be better (hope for DTM92, as i was thinking till short before the race, this race is with dtm92)

What a race that was. sorry for the slight tap on the last corner of the last lap jpassmore. I just could not find a way to pass you, great driving. i think the gap was less than 1 second the entire race, mostly below .5 secs

does drafting not work in this game?

thanks for the racing all

LOL - at least you have the lap race record  ;)

I was braking as late as I could  :-[ Still I'll take Volvo class win as a result  ::)

Pretty obvious by the results the Nissan was the car to be in.

Wow! what a race! these skylines are difficult to get off the line! you really have to slip the clutch which I managed to do better than Greg to get to the first corner in front.
There on in Greg was about .5 of second behind me all race, good racing buddy! but managed to keep him behind me for the win! great battling with you :fencing:

lappers were great getting out of the way with Greg right on my tail. whew so glad this race went well  ;D

Hey Gents

Good Race, I made a few mistakes, The leaders where 5 second ahead after the first 10 minutes, then I made a few mistakes, its hard to catch or overtake if the pace is the same.. I wanted the use the E30 BMW but then I saw the pace of the Nissan, so I changed to it and did minor setup changes 5 minutes before the race started, I think I could have been a little more consistent..

Well done John you raced well and MC

Geoffers used to have occasional conn trouble in P&G with our server, for some it's solid, for others not always so.
Was a cracking race, big turnout  :thumbup1: :thumbup1: :thumbup1: it makes it really interesting to always
have another car in sight, and at this short track with 15 people it was great.
Not sure about drafting, I assumed it modeled it perhaps not.

Next event is M1 Procars at Hockenheim, last time we ran here it was DTM92, that's why I ran the Touring classics this time.

Don't honestly think my connection is the problem, it runs GTL & P&G fine & although it is normal broadband (not superfast) I can stream TV & video no problem. Think it is probably my system, the graphics card is well below the minimum spec for RRE. Won't be updating it for a while so I'll just stick to GTL & P&G for now.

Ok. I am running on an ancient core2duo 2.6G, the GPU is a decent Nvidia970 (I thinK) but
maybe because of the amount of scenery, whereas I can normally run smooth on low res on this machine tonight
it was getting quite choppy over the start line, maybe this track is a higher than normal demand?

Ah I think I understand Reinharts dilema... I had left a photo of DTM92 cars on the event page  :whistling:

My processor is a Pentium dualcore 3.2G with 4G Ram however my GPU is only an ATI5670 so it is not really anywhere near the minimum spec for RRE. It runs the game smoothly offline but is a bit stuttery with lots of cars on track.

PS: Very sorry to Reinhard for spoiling your race  :(

Use steam to monitor fps, always have vsync off for all games, see what your lowest fps is and then set max fps using MSI afterburner to your average lowest fps. I find setting max fps to either 60, 90, 120, 180 fps works best for me but it really depends on your monitor.

If you have a dirty phone line, it can cause problems even if your download speed is fine. also make sure you reset your modem at least once a week,

My gestapo alter ego says people should be shot after 2 guest drives..   :hang:
My racing driver side says the more racers the better. Somewhere in the middle is
probably reasonable. For me if people want to race with us, then they should register
It makes it more friendly, in reality as long as they are decent types they just can't
score points. Most people are interested in scoring points, even if they are not competing for
the top 3 places.

Anyway, please could you register Larry?
Err, how do people register anyway, I may be blind this morning, but I am struggling to find a link.

The forum login page has a link to register, I'm sure there are other ways too.

Personally I think it's a bit rude not to register, someone must be supplying him with passwords too as these are not visible to non members. Either that or he is registered and we don't know who he is. If anyone knows our Larry please give him a poke or please speak up yourself sir.

Sorry Geoffers for the contact at the chicane. With all the jittery warping though it was difficult to predict where you were going to be in those first few laps. Probably my fault for being so cautious at T1 in the first place and getting overtaken by so many..

Good turn out though - hope the historic RRE races here will continue to grow, although I won't be able to make all of them.

Congrats podium.

Was a very good turnout, reminded me of our early events with P&G v3, not sure where Jim was, but if he had been there
it would have been a grid of 16. A few people from other series showed as well  8) good to see Dana in the mix, and running well.
I was thinking why the grid was larger, perhaps it was because people could see a good close quarters knife fight in the
offing, or maybe it was that the 1st two events this year were extra tracks that had to be bought as well as the Euro and AMerican
track packs? For whatever reason it was a good to see all the cars heading down to T1, looked like a "real" race  ;D

Excellent racing for the first 10 minutes with Giannis and Dana. Good clean racing with lots of door to door action on a very tight track  8)

The remainder of the race was a bit dull unfortunately with the Datsuns so far up front and pulling away every lap on a track that particularly suited them.

I have done a bit of trawling through the RRE forums regarding my lagging problem. It seems it is something that affects a lot of people in RRE multiplayer when they can play other sims online without problem.

It stems from the way multiplayer works in RRE & my problems are probably caused by a slow upload speed (0.35MB/sec in my case, compared to 7MB/sec download). In other sims like GTL & GTR2 a player's PC sends out just one packet of information regarding his position on track to the server which then distributes that info to all the other players. RRE doesn't work like that, it requires that each player has to send out a packet of info to every other player individually, so for Norisring my PC needed to send out 15 packets of info instead of the one in GTL & GTR2. Don't know how many times per sec it has to do this, but it appears that my upload speed is not adequate for all this information.

So it looks like I need to upgrade to a superfast internet connection to be able to race RRE online. It has recently become available out in the countryside where I live, so I may see about upgrading. This RRE is becoming expensive!  :o

Interesting....
I raced this event from my BT infiniti, which does around 1.5 MBytes upload, and only issue I had was frame rate
or flickers just after the start where there are a lot of white lines across the road.
I have run R3E from Southport where I only have the use of a Sky DSL line which only manages 800KB down
and maybe a quarter of that up, and though I have seen the disappearing cars when other people did, I don't
think I have ever looked laggy to others, though I have never done a race with 15 grid from there.
I wonder why they opted to do it that way.
