Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

I am waiting for the other two GTO cars to be released before I add any more events
This series will not end with the current scheduled events...  ::)
Any ideas when they will be released? I am assuming sometime soon.

Well sometime soon could be anytime between now and eventually. My guess is at least a month and probably longer. There should be another big update before we see the GTO cars and we'll know the release time will be closer if they appear in our gamedata files at that time.

There's a good chance we'll get a nice grid on Thursday. I signed up for the The Race Connect event scheduled for today, but it was cancelled as you can see from this message:

"Hi Stig, Bill AJ & Jukka,

Re: RRE Grp 5 & TC's @ Brands Hatch

Sorry guys, but with myself and 4 others registered for this event, it's just not worth running.

I'll be posting a news item about SROUK, who run some great RRE events on Thursday nights shortly. I think we'd be better off joining them for our RRE action, rather than have grids of 4 or 5 here.

Sorry about this.

That's a shame, turned out I was able to race tonight but hadn't signed up as I was unsure if I could make it. Not sure why Raceroom doesn't get more love  ??? Despite its shortcomings (which are being worked on) I believe it provides the best sim racing experience at present and will only get better.

Hope some of the fellas join us here for these historic events as they don't have racing at RC on Thursdays.

People believe Project cars way better, but I think it's just highly flawed.. R3E will be a leagend in the eyes of legendary fans..  ;D

I have PCars and it looks good, not spent any time with it. The reason I went for R3E is because it had the best selection
of historic ish, cars, so I would have enough classes to run more than one series.

Some of the PCars cars are very good, but there doesn't seem to be a tangible grouping of similar cars into classes as there is in R3E.
I also read a lot about buggy networking amongst other things. R3E has some bugs and things missing, but for me at least
it mostly works well, and the racing is excellent, which is what I care about mostly.

hello,

i do not know if this is important for results,

i have changed my STEAM nickname from puhbear788 to Reinhard Berger.

someone did say, this is not important for steam games, but i am not sure, as i understand this with results not good.

The only thing our results care about is that we can relate your in game name to your SROUK forum name
As the results are done with your SROUK forum name.

So if you drive as "Reinhard Berger, then we (I) may need to make sure that "Reinhard Berger" = "Berger R-74" in our user database.
It's not a problem as long as I know who you really are. It used to be more of an issue, but the latest R3E results outputs
are less error prone these days.

It is challenging for me when someone races in a R3E event, and I don't know who he is...... I moaned about SRW and APEXTECHUSA
because I didn't know their real names until they told me  ::)

I'm a great fan of the DTM Mercer from 92, but I had to try the Mustang GT just the same.

It's even more fun to drive than the Mercer, it sounds absolutely fantastic and it turned out to be the faster choice for me!
Actually I'm seriously considering deserting the car of my famous fellow countryman DTM legend Kurt Thiim.

It's great that these cars are well balanced in order to produce close racing against each other. In real life however this car was a looser. The 3 Mustang GT's who participated in the DTM 92' season only managed to score a total of 1 point  :wheelchair:

I'm going to struggle (even more than usual) tomorrow - got a shiny new G29 + H-shifter and adjusting from 2 pedals & paddle shifters is proving rather difficult. The force feedback with this wheel is also a bit duff, which isn't helping. Weird because in Project Cars it's nothing short of sensational

There's a good chance we'll get a nice grid on Thursday. I signed up for the The Race Connect event scheduled for today, but it was cancelled as you can see from this message:

Yes, it's a real shame, but the numbers just weren't there at RC. I could have given it more time I guess, but with you guys running it too, it might be better to pool the effort (That said, Thursdays is always tricky for me)

What I'd like to do is add the RRE events to the RaceConnect Thursday calendar, so that our members can at least see what's happening here, and maybe join in.

I know I'd far rather be in 1 race with a decent sized grid.

I'll try to get some kind of 'promo art' done for the Thursday events here and stick it on our calendar.

I see this championship appears to complete at the end of Feb.  What are the plans for March onwards, any ideas?  Don't want to do  promo poster for DTM, and find it's Grp5's in a few weeks.

Matt varies the car pack each week. Currently he is concentrating on the Touring Classics, DRTM '92, Procar and Gr.5 car packs.

Yep, Like Tony said.

Unlike Tony, who seems able to do the work of 3 men without his missus kicking him out  ::)
I only post a few races at a time, partly because I am lazy, partly because I like to drive at least a few laps
at each track I think is suitable to avoid embarrassing mis matches, and that takes time, and partly because in R3E I am waiting for
new content to be released so I can include that class as well. The GTO cars are soon to be 3 not just the Audi, when they are released
I am intending to slot them in, possibly as the 5th element. So, "probably" it will go - DTM92, Gr5, Touring Classics, M1 Procar, GTO
so a different class each week.
In P&G I used to run a different championship for the different classes, so for e.g one for Sports cars, one for Yank tanks etc
As R3E is still quite new here, i opted for a single championship for the time being, so I could judge if any of the classes were particularly
unpopular. Some people like some classes more than others, but it doesn't seem so big a deal that no one turns up for the Gr5 events for e.g
and some people really enjoy the masochism of the Gr5s  ;D err like me... who can't drive them, but I love the nutty things big styley
Also, if all the classes are in the same championship it means people who are chasing points have a reason to come to all the class races
not just the one that is their favourite. So far it is working well, and we are gathering interest from new members who also are attracted
to Tudor's Sunday GT3 style events.

When the GTO class is released I "might" ask Tony the wizard to create 5 more championships, one for each car class. In which case
this Championship will end maybe in March, and 5 new Championships will start, but I am slightly uncomfortable with that.
Whatever happens, these Thursday R3E races will continue here at least until the end of the year, one way or another.  :thumbup1: :thumbup1: :thumbup1:

Great. Thx Tony.

I've added a promo type poster, with a link to the SROUK page HERE (http://www.raceconnect.com/component/option,com_events/Itemid,154/). Note: you need to click on the 'Blue event' on the calendar to see the poster.

I've just used some generic RRE pics of various Historic RRE cars. Hope that's ok, and set it to the end of the year.

I'd happily do the same for the GTL events on Monday.

No problem. It'd be great if a few can race.

Let me know if the link doesn't go live for you.  I'm sure I'd set it all to public, rather than registered.

If the link worked, you'd see THIS (http://www.raceconnect.com/component/option,com_events/task,view_detail/agid,3029/year,2016/month,02/day,05/Itemid,154/). If that links works  :-[

Great.

Yes, I'd seen the posters back in December, and did a plug in the RC forums: http://www.raceconnect.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=390&t=6302

I'll add GTL to the Calendar for Mondays shortly (time permitting).

Great to see the LM55 and Trans-Am grids with really strong numbers. I'd love to get involved in some (again, time permitting),

Sigh, results messed up. I assume some people left before the race over count? if anyone does that it messes up the results
please stay in until the race over counts down, even if youre peed off. it's ok if you drop out early, but if you finished its an issue
maybe the count finishing at 60Secs didn't get the results right? hmm it looked correct when I left
I will watch mr replay to make sure, and dilute to taste

Grats podium you guys deserve it..

Default chat key is "T" on track only, there is not yet a way to chat when not on the track (except teamspeak perhaps)
You can't change fuel yet, it is preset, I leave the server as "normal" so it does use fuel, anf the car does get a bit lighter
but we never come close to running out in these 30 min races.

pretty indifferent race for me. Decent start with a bit of dicing, then I dropped back and was defending from Reinhard for a bit before running wide. Me and Anth had a good scrap till he tagged me in turn 5 (I think), but he had the good grace to wait. Unlike the driver of the Vauxhall who blatantly spun me round in the last corner then buggered off

Congrats to the podium guys  :)

grabbing pole was a shock for me and with a good start of the race i managed to pull around a 5 sec gap after a few laps whilst battles went on behind me. Every time 2nd place got a bit of clear air they began to catch me but luckily for me they either made mistakes or started battling again with 3rd place. I`m pretty sure this is what gifted me the win here.

Thanks all for a great race and a new home for me to race R3E

Yes, please do this. We want to keep these races clean and fair  :thumbup1:

Great race again this evening. First few laps trying to hang onto Greg with Ant at my heels and then later on Eck putting me under pressure which led to me making a mistake and losing 2 places to 4th. Now had Reinhard to chase but could only match pace until the last few laps when I started to close and eventually sneaked past on the last lap to take 2nd  :sweatdrop:

I didn't get the replay or note who it was so there's not much I can do here. I was kinda hoping that someone would hold their hands up and say "yeah that was me, got a bit late on the brakes, sorry fella" or words to that effect. Bit disappointing really but worse things 'appen at sea, as my mum used to say (when pushed for specifics, she said "scurvy and soddomy", which didn't make much sense to the 8 year old me)

Messy start, I don't have the replay with me now, and I only watched the last few laps to check the results
People make contact occasionally, it happens. It is not a hangable offence.
But when you tap someone into a spin, it is our tradition that you will wait for them to get going again and then chase after them
however frustrating it might be waiting for them to dig themselves out of the gravel  :taz:

I avoided the T1 mayhem, and then spun myself into a fence after a few laps, then had loadsa fun slowly catching
the battling group up ahead. Good race, but then this track always seems to make for a good race.  8)

Yeah, we had a 'coming together' after a good little ding-dong, but like the man said, these things happen, and you were a gent and waited. It's not that bump that got me a bit cranky, it's the one in the last corner
