Post by: Cookie on February 23, 2016, 07:03:25 PM +0000
Season 29 Historic Trophy - Round 9 – Bremgarten

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

All races will be run at 60 frames per second – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod (ftp://ukgpl3.dyndns.org/Replays/Archive/Season27/60fps/).

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

No you are OK, see this post (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13638.msg245855#msg245855)

However don't take a Group III car tonight or you will be disqualified.

Having another good battle with Bastian, got a bit too enthusiastic and hit a wall in the tree lined section.  Wheel off, race over :(

The scrapfest on Lap 1 caught me out and I think something important got bent on my Ferrari after one of the impacts.
The car was still running and was Ok in a straight line, but snap oversteer  in the corners proved too much and I think I almost took out Iestyn and Tris in the middle of the forest...sorry guys i hope that you could continue.

That practice was so worth it.

Not only do I lose a PB thanks to server reset, I encounter a stationary Tris, evade a heavy shunt but get off track onto the grass where I'm pretty much a passenger when I rejoin to collect an unfortunate Doni, ending both our races if not more on lap 1.

Yay Bremgarten, such a great track for online racing...

Sorry for the server reset,  :notworthy:
in the hosting menu of IGOR I can't read the 66 cars full name so I took the wrong McL...

My good lap was gone too ::)

It is a tough track but one that favours the steady drivers.  We try to provide a varied test throughout the season with a mixture of tracks that test different aspects of a driver's ability.  This is the sort of track that drivers like David Rainier should do well, he rarely makes mistakes.  He was still circulating when I crashed out!

What a fantastic race it was! Too bad my engine exploded :D Still I'm listed 4th which is great, but a P2 finish would have been better :)
Congrats Tristan and podium! Very well done Tim on three wheels in the last 4? laps :D

My apologies Dean, Doni, Clive, Tris and whoever else got caught in the melee. Tris did something weird going down the hill. I couldn't react fast enough. I gave him a bump setting off the crapstorm. I shouldn't have been so close but I expected he'd have the pedal to the floor.

Iestyn confused me later. By that time I was so out of sync I forgot to slow soon enough for the next turn. :(

I noticed this track could use a lot better placings for the flagmen. You did have skidmarks to warn you Dean. I learned that lesson at Monaco.

Thanks !

I was very slow and very cautious during all the race ...except during the 3 last laps (where I was just a little bit faster but no more cautious). There were only 3 cars on the track (Tristan, Tim and me) and I saw Tim struggling with a 3-wheels car !

If there was one more lap (or if Tristan didn't overlap me a 2nd time during the last lap), I could have finished 2nd. But Tim deserved, 10 times more than me, to finish 2nd.

Grats to Tristan for the win and also for the championship !

thx Dave ;)

Well guys, I'm sorry for the carnage of lap one.....so I did not brake going downhill, I just find the neutral in stade of the 4 th gear :/( it's happend some time, my shifter is getting old )....normaly, it's just during 1/2 of a second,(just the time to touch the shifter) but , whith the noise of the Greg engine higher than my behind me, the time to realise what a f..k is going on ?!( maybe 1.5 to 2s )then I loose my speed, ...and Greg have no possibility to avoide me ......then the carnage happend !.....miraculousely, the McLaren is ok !??....and I can restart.... not far from Iestyn ....Ifellow him till we make the contact to Axel who was leading the race....good fight for few laps , but Axel under big pressure do a mistake ...Iestyn go thru but I can't avoid Axel'car....and I can go on again to try catch Iestyn who is leading now......but my engine got some damage ( I lost about 4-5s a lap !)and whith 9 laps to go , it's impossible to come back for fight for the victory........but Iestyn ( thx mate ;) crash and let me the victory way....:)

well done to the finishers ( was not easy )...
thx org.

rendez-vous for the last one ......

...and very happy for the Championship :D

Grats Tris for the win and Champ ;)

My engine lost power and smoked on the SF straight, I did not realize it straightaway,
but when I did I tried to get out of the way to the right...
