My new computer is almost four years old, but it is new to me. I am running GPL with the Intel integrated graphics on the CPU. I actually had a solid 60 fps the entire race. It performed better than my old Nvidia gtx 560ti! My only problem is a screen tear. I was so happy to be able to race that the screen tear did not bother me. I am looking forward to trying different mods to see what it can handle.

Unfortunately, I did not drive very good. The track looked like it would be friendly to the Cooper. So the fault has to lie with me today. But I had fun trying to put a good lap together. I blew the engine on lap 11, and then wrapped the car around a tree on lap twelve.  :-\

I expect Cookie/someone knowledgeable about such things would be able to help;   but possibly there could be some vsync setting to be be tweaked.  If it's not enabled in GEM, then maybe enable it/give it a go...

Shame!  From the qually session  [where I was going to use the setup I used before;  then realised I haven't been here before in 65s!]  it looked as if we would most likely be keeping each other company for most of the race; whilst all other runners were doing their own thing.

First half a lap wasn't too bad,  until I stacked it along with Bastian.  I was convinced I saw a coming together over the crest & eased off more to not join in. Back of the car came round & Bastian had nowhere to go - apart from over the fence!   Then some lonely running for a while way back;  but I could see Bastian reeling me in lap after lap.

Did a good lap [for me] in his tow, then forgot where I was; went off over the crest & the car then refused to make any right hand corners without spinning out.

I kept keep running in case there was some over exuberance elsewhere :)   but was pootling around,  trying to keep out of the way. Although it was rather pitiful.

I thought this was the last race for s29;    but roll-on Mosport!

Cheers chaps,
Dave.

Of course, that's just begging for some inappropriate comment.  But you're not getting it from me!

Very enjoyable race for me with some close racing with Billy then Bernie, unfortunately hit a tree shift r then stop and go. New install of GPL working perfect with full screen and normal cars.

Grats to Carlos on win

Grats to Podium

Last night i was a bit unlucky.

I qualifed with race fuel and could have been a bit faster maybe.

At the start (roger ?) didn't move and I had a contact and lost some positions.

In the righthander after the climb Dave was going into a big slide and as he said I had to go over the fence.
Sorry Dave.

I reseted and went to the pitlane. I stopped. Instead of accelerating, I shift /r again by mistake.
I asked the reko already for mercy in a report.

Later, i catched roger again, i didn't see his shift r and was slipstreaming him on the straight when he suddenly got slower to enter the pits.
I hit you again, sorry, but I wasn't expecting you going into pits. Thought you have been just off the track. Nearly spun on the straight, I could avoid this.

I collected Dave again, I was really fast but John, Carlos and Bernie were far far away and unfortunately i could not join their battle.

Hope there will be a great final race in 14 days.

Best Regards,
Bastian

Race start saw 8 cars on the grid , 7 pairs of eyes watching for the flagman to drop the flag , meanwhile ,  1 pair of eyes ( guess who ?) watching for the little man in blue on the pits side to wave the flag  ::) left wondering why everyone has gone without him Dohhhh !
being stationary while the rest of the field is racing off into the distance is not good , Bastion ? rear ends me but fortunately no damage and all OK though I did have to dive in and out of the pits to find the track .

Some great racing after catching up to Billy and Rog but it wasnt to last , at one point  entering T1 the yellows were waving , I lifted and ran wide, spun and collected whoever it was (Walter?) who was lurking in the tall grass recovering from his own spin. that needed a s/r then going for my s/g and braking for the pits the car following who I thought was Walter was maybe Bastion ? caught out by my braking for the pit entrance , sorry if I made the race a bit to interesting for you . After that it was back to the old game of playing catch up .

Great track but found it very tiring to drive well which I failed to do most of the time  ::)

Grats to the podium

A really fun track to drive. Hockenheim was almost a BT11 spec race so I thought I would try out something different. After a few evenings practice I found how to set up the Lotus to be a touch faster than the Brabham
In qually I set a PB to start P2. Did not have the race pace to stay with Johnny or Carlos & I was being extra careful on T1 & the blind jump where it is too easy to bin it. Early on Rog gave me a hard time for several laps. Later Bastisn found some consistency but I had enough gap to hold on for the bottom step of the podium.
Once dropped results are avcounted for the last race will be interesting between Carlos, Johnny & Bastian for the championship.  Bring on Mosport.

:) Ok then I confused you Bernie with Roger. I was also wondering the Flagman flying on the left side, didn't notice him at the first view...at least i didn't hurt you both times, i was coming along as well. It never got boring, that race ;)

Bastian,
I will have a proper look during the moderation but I don"t expect you will be disqualified for an accidental Shift R.

Make that 2x pairs of eyes!   I was also watching him, then realised just before the off that he was just some cardboard cutout & not the startman at all!

A bit late but here goes... I had a good start from third into first and kept it that way until I dropped it and Carlos went through, a few laps later he lost it too at the tricky right hander up the hill and so I took back the lead only to give it back again... Carlos always had a bit more speed than me and got a deserved win. Thanks all see you next time.

Hi Walter

Out of interest what spec is your PC ?

i5-3570K CPU @3.40GHz 3rd generation "Ivy Bridge"
Intel HD Graphics 4000
8 GB DDR3-1600 ram
750w PSU
Asus P8Z77-V motherboard
PCI-e 3.0 X16 expansion slot on MB

I assembled this computer for my mom 4 years ago. Time really does fly. The 750 W PSU is a lot more than I needed, but I always planned on adding a nice graphics card at a later date.

She started having problems with it recently. It would shut down unexpectedly, and then go into a boot loop. I traded computers with her a couple of weeks ago so that I could troubleshoot the problem. The problem does not happen very frequently. I just switched the PSU with another computer to see if that was the problem. I am still waiting for either computer to have a problem. It is possible that the problem was a loose connection?

I was using Vsync in GEM and triple buffering in Radeon settings. Now I'm using Vsync but no triple buffering.

In Radeon settings, I had a problem with the "wait for vertical refresh" setting. Once I set that to "on, unless application specifies" eliminated my last tearing problems.

Try various combinations of those 3 settings.

Hi Greg, thanks for the advice. The Intel graphics options are very limited. I am able to toggle vsync. I will try various combinations as you and Dave suggest.

As for Fridays, I have not had the free time ever since I became the father of two. I had planned on trying to race once a week, but lately, it has only been once every two weeks. I will join in the Friday fun when time permits. I can not tell you how many races that I intended on racing, but then was not available on the race day! I wish that I had not missed the races at Dundrod.
