Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

My wonderful company has scheduled me to be away for the next 4 Thursdays at least  :taz:
London next week, then Brum, then Exeter, then Southampton. I think I am back in manchester after that.

I will make sure that there are plenty of events planned, and I may be able to do some of the admin, but
I will need help from someone to connect to the server at 19:45 to make the timer run correctly.

I can do server duties.

There is likely to be a very big update sometime Thursday which we'll all need to download/install before we race.

Furthermore I'm wondering if the dedi server will also need to be updated, in which case it could cause problems as I'm not sure how to do this (Matt's away so I'm on server duty). I'll try to find out more and keep you posted.

I left my oc on the whole day and there was no update, 30 minutes ago it started to update. I am 750megs in and it still it going to take some time. Considering we race in 1 hour amd a bit, can't we postpone this race as I think not everyone will have had the time to download it. Plus there is new physics and settings that must be done. Please moving this event to next week will help heaps

It's beginning to look that way unfortunately. My download should be done in 20 minutes or so, but I've had no luck updating the dedi server. Anyway, it's unfair to run a championship race when there are some that won't make it so....

Got the update and did a few laps in the Audi V8 - feels really nice, did these cars get any changes?

EDIT: Actually now I think about it I don't think I've tried this car before, so maybe it was always good..!

I joined and lapped on the server, GT3's at Hungaroring, all seemed good.

Seems like a huge update if it's just some physics? I am hoping it contains the other two GTO cars?

Oh, it seems Nords has been released. oh what fun it would be to run a race there with the little NSU  8)

The physics update is pretty impressive for those cars which have received it. These include the GT3 classes, the protos and the GTO Audi amongst others. The GTO stang and Datsun have been added to our game files ready for release.

The ffb update is pretty significant and I reckon a big improvement but it will take some getting used to. It is however very tweakable now so everyone should be able to find settings they're happy with and you can now save the ffb strength for each car which is a nice time saver.

Other highlights are saving/loading setups, fuel settings and bigger grids where RL pitboxes allow (up to 100). No chat yet and sadly no tyre pressure settings........oh and they've released nords too.

It is doing some windows updates at the moment, I assume Pete is doing admin work.
I will have a play with it later.

There should be a practice server running again but I can't explain why we've been getting these registration errors :(

Which car to buy, are there any big differencies?

They are all a bit diferent. BMW handle ok but lack the turbo ompf, Volvo handles ok, The nissan seem quickest but has massive lag, and strange handing tbh.

Stuck in London again, so will miss this one. Hopefully someone (Tudor) can join at 19:45?

Should have been 30 mins as usual  :-[ we missed changing it from the aquila event....

Well I only had enough fuel for about 15 minutes - just forgot that we have proper fuel consumption in RRE now and so didn't think to change the fuel level between qually and race..  ::)

Good fun up to that point though, love driving these old classics. Congrats podium.

I think with the server trouble last week the race length wasn't updated after the Aquila race...........not me I was scared to go near the server while it was playing up. In view of those having to pit I'm easy with scrubbing the race from the championship results if you like.

Had a great battle with John and then Eck for most of the race, but my front tyres were begging for mercy for the last few laps  :o

Sorry that was me restarting the server. As practice / qually times seemed right I assumed the race was 40 mins as that's what was set.

Race for me was only interesting for the 1st 4 or 5 laps as people had issues and fought back through. Seems the understeer I had was as real killer as several times I seemed to catch people out as I had to brake for corners others didn't seem to need to! Need some other slow coach to race against. It's only through others misfortune I seem to see other cars in this series these days and I'm so slow it's no challenge to get passed.

I did ask, in practice, is the race really 40 mins?. The chat limitations, obviously got in the way.

I had the problem of everyone disappearing, during the gridwalk. After pulling over from the grid, I waited for the game to tell me everyone was away. Only to find, I'd already lost 10ish seconds. Really is, a pita.

My front right had begun to change colour, about 30 mins-ish. Anyhoo, it all turned out reasonably... lol.

I checked the server earlier in the week, and missed it, sorry will endeavour to avoid such spheroids in future...

40 mins?, thats just a sprint. I enjoyed the outcome.. :-[ Sorry Ant... lol.

I used to run the P&G events as 40 mins, as were many of our other league events.
For this I initially decided on 30 mins as the sim had lots of bugs that are not so much an issue these days.
and we were really only testing. Now we are more in serious league mode I am happy to run the races as
40 mins if that's what people prefer. I only rarely use pit stops in my events, though that is not impossible.

What do we think? shout up guys.

I had no one to race after 10 mins so I vote 10 ;) Seriously I don't care, game's is still too brain dead for proper pitstops so let's ignore those for now.

My tyres were spent well before 40 minutes and I'm usually good on tyres. I like longer races but midweek I think the current format is about right for me anyway.
