1:56's for me so far. Car feels pretty sweet around here, as you would expect of a Ferrari at Monza  8)

I trust by the plethora of race posts and several days off whilst the winds howled outside, that you have all been practising hard...  :whistling:

 tumbleweed

I only start driving an hour before the event, so before that, nothing useful will come from my end  :P

Hope nobody practises the GT2 version!

Will have to see the how well my spare set of G***(what ever the new one is) pedals works, without my brake pedal mod. And am back on the hunt for new pedals. Unless there are drop-in pots available somewhere.

Err yeah the days of actually practising for hours beforehand are gone, if i cant drive a couple of laps then i know!

The t3pa pedals seem to be priced around £80 and the more substantial t3pa pro pedals at £110. The necessary adapter for pc is £12.99.

It would if i hadnt already bought the t3pa pedals and didnt get on with them. Carpet seems to defeat most pedals which is why i like the logitech ones!

Ah I see. I need to do something about my DFGT pedals as I've been pressing the throttle pedal so hard I've broken chunks off it  ::)

Anyway enough of me hanging around here, I'm off to play with some proper race cars  ;)

So i had a good 22 lap practice yesterday evening and gone through all setup options, but no way i could hit 1:56s. Still stuck at 1:58s. Maybe i should practice my corner cutting a bit more.
I certainly hope there will be more around in my laptime zone for some good door to door action.

And thanks GT for the tip on the USB adapter. Looks interesting.

Got a 1:55 in me as was on for it a couple of times until I blew a late corner in my eagerness  ::) (with 30L onboard)
Seen the front end AI doing 1:55's too. No cutting involved

I may be slower than usual if I make this - I was reminded yesterday it's my Niece's birthday tomorrow so may or may not be back in time!
Can people give me an idea how much fuel I'll need so I can just adjust the standard setup if I'm really late? :)

Well that was something  ;D. Before the race, I wasn't sure if I was going to do this, as I just can't handle mid engined cars. They always feel like rear wheel steering cars, but I gave it a shot.
Qually and start of race was good, but just before the second chicane, I got a small tap on the rear. No problem, as with these cars, braking 1 metre later, sends you 10 metres further down the road.
Had yellow/orange rear damage, which I noticed turning into Lesmo 1. Car didn't act like it did before, and I clipped the grass which sucked me in. Even with a small grid, it seemed like I got overtaken bij 20 cars :P.

I then had a enjoyable race, trying to get to the front. At one point, I was behind FMG, but getting behind him was 1 thing, getting past another. We had a few good tussle and side by side action. At 1 point, I had to avoid a crash, as he brakes earlier than expected for Varianta Ascari. In the end we finished side by side, but me 0.073s behind  :D.

Just before the race, a friend asked if I could stream the race via steam. Having never done that, I just turned it on, but i noticed some rubber banding with cars. Maybe it was my imagination, as ping was fine, but I hope others didn't notice it around me. Maybe that it was causes the incident in lap 1, me rubberbanding.

I hope the slicks  :P

I really enjoyed that  :) only 7 racers but the racing was close and fun throughout.

I qualified well bagging 2nd behind Jeff  :)

Got a good start and even ahead of Jeff until the braking zone for the chicane where I went for discretion over valour, alas when I tried the same at the 2nd chicane I still managed to give Jeff a light tap on the butt despite virtually standing on my cold brakes!  :P no harm no foul, he continued to lead but fell off at turn 3 and I almost followed him in allowing Fmg and Eck past.
That set up a great 4 car high speed chase with us all within 4secs right up to lap 10 or 11  :) I was loving it, putting pressure on Eck whilst Jeff and Fmg diced ahead. Then Eck got too much kerb on one corner exit and it spat him across track. Now third, I chased the two ahead but despite closing a little, I got scrappy in last two laps and finished 5-6 secs behind, but was great watching them swap places ahead.

These Ferraris certainly close the field up and once brakes and tyres are warm allow for some close racing. Many thanks to those that raced and well done Fmg on a tough win  8)

Very happy with that result - I got the PC fired up 10 minutes before the server started practice and made a wild guess with an asymetric setup then just prayed.

It seemed to work as apart from in Qually where I went strangely slow I was getting good pace.
The start was another bonus jumping two people of the lights before then being handed the lead at the Lesmos complex.
I didn't expect to hold onto 1st based on qualifying times but did and even pulled away a bit due to the scuffles going on behind me  ;D

Jeffers had some fantastic speed once he got free so I'm over the moon at keeping him behind me - especially as he had much better brakes than me (even after I'd finally sussed the braking points).
That last lap fight through Para is right up there alongside many finishes I've had in GPL at Monza for closeness  8)
