Time of Day Setting: 14:00

Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Best to have Countdown switched on for both races.

This will be an evening of two races. After Race One drivers will need to leave and wait in the lobby (and get a beer) until the second race is started.

Ah thank you.

Strangely I already did a search and nothing came back. Tried again this morning and found the post. A case of "dyslexia rules ko" on my part probably.

Over one second slower than in my offline practice and driving with sound from only one speaker I pressed a wrong button after someone hit me in the back and I dropped to last position during first lap. Session to forget so I quit.

Have fun guys.

Well I suspect LigelC would have enjoyed the sport in the first race, and he must have been wetting his undergarments at the insanity of that figure "8"!!!

In all my years of sim racing I don't think I have ever experienced anything like that. The nearest would be racing Citroen 2 CV's around Snetterton!!

I had absolutely no idea what position I was in as the read out was having a meltdown moment, with names jumping up and down the board apparently at random. I suspected Arnold of trying to rig the result..after all who would know????

I think the most amazing fact for me was that I only got hit at the crossover once, and that was because I hesitated at the very same moment as the car coming the other way.

Very nice, this brute of a car!  :)  Perhaps a good candidate for a future, single-car race series ? - There's enough different skins available, so we could all pick 'our' car, to stick with for the entire series.

Genuinely surprised to find myself 2nd on the grid, as I'm usually useless in US heavy metal - did no one else practice ?  :)

Start went ok and I retained 2nd, but a slow exit from the S-bends meant I practically handed it to Clive.  Spent the rest of the race playing catchup, but the more I tried to make up lost time, the more mistakes I made.  Really suffered because of the disappeared black marks on the track - suddenly most of my aimpoints were gone and I kept getting the corners wrong. Cursing myself for not checking for this problem before the race.  Only towards the end did I start to get my act together again, which coupled with some mistakes from Clive, brought us close again.  Too late to change the outcome though; not least when I ran out of opposite lock in one of the final corners...  ::)

Grats to Atilla & Clive.

Cheers,
Erling

Enjoyed this one, I usually like the Yank Tanks ;D
Had 2 contacts with Ziu in the opening laps, both times it seemed he was not aware I was there.
Checked my replay and his car can be heard but is invisible, so maybe he could not see me  ???
Sorry if my ghost car shoved you off  :-\

Matt, I learned years ago that if you go straight from a race and load the replay, some of the cars may be invisible.  If you exit the replay and load it a 2nd time, the invisible cars show up.  Know it sounds very strange, and can't say if it affects every race/replay, but I have definitely experienced it in the past.  A long time since I've last seen it, but then I've made it a habit to always load a replay twice, if I come straight from the race.

Cheers,
Erling

That was great fun.  One of my favorite tracks (not very good at it, just like it) in one of my favorite add on cars. Early on I came down the hill to the start finish line and found my team mate Ziu spinning out.  Tried to avoid you mate but still clipped you, car OK though but went to the back of the field.  Worked my way back to the rear of John and we had a good tussle for the closing laps.  Several times I thought about giving you the old "NASCAR NUDGE" but restrained myself...LOL.  Good fun John!
Erhling mentioned a series with this car.  I agree...I think their is even a Pontiac Trans Am and a Dodge Chally and maybe even a Camaro with like performance.  Will do some checking on this, gotta have a V8 series for 2017, right?

Thanks all for the good fun
Bob M.

Car in middle of the track just around last bend on lap 1 or 2, couldn't avoid it and damaged front end making car cornering unpredictable - particularly left handers!

Really enjoyed that one, Qualified in 8th which was higher up the grid than I expected and got a great start and found myself in 4th by the 1st corner. In the next few laps I could see I was losing times on those in front and because I was one of the slower drivers in the chasing pack I had quite a freight train in my mirrors. Then on about Lap four lost it on the penultimate corner. Amazingly didn't lose too many places and seemed to have a few second lead over the next driver. The gap to Roguk ahead slowly increased and the gap behind seemed fairly constant. Then I noticed Bob was leading the chasing pack and the gap began to decrease alarmingly quickly. The last 4 laps or so were very exciting from my end. Bob seemed able to brake so much later than me so I concentrated on my exits in an attempt to stay ahead, So many times I glanced in the mirror and he was so close I'm sure I could see his eyes through the visor. I don't think I could have kept that up for more than a few more laps and I was very relieved to see the flag. I did expect a nudge more than once, not through any malice on Bob's end but simply because he seemed so much faster than me on corner entry.

John.

John:
Maybe the reason I was outbrakeing  you was because I was really screaming the engine on downshifting and used lowest spring rates and almost no shocks/dampers. Hope we get a chance to use this car next season.  Found a Firebird TA from the same group of creators,  seems very equal in performance as the Boss.  Need to get one more car, working on that.  Any ideas out there????
