Has anyone tried the car with the new tyre patch?

Nope - Too busy playing with the Abarth  ;D

Maybe we should run that instead  ;)

I was going to suggest shoe horning a race in using the new content but realised it would bugger up the series dates already put in lm2.

Guess we get to check out the improved circuit graphics and test out tyre model 7. Not had a chance to get near my PC to play any of the new update at all yet  :'(

New track updates look great and really bring the circuits alive  :)

1:38's so far. Fezzas are pretty cool here

Got to say I'm really liking the 1.5 update. The tracks look stunning now they've been populated with more trackside objects and been updated. Check the Nurburgring GP track  8)
The ambient and engine sounds are greatly improved too, reverb under bridges, bottoming out etc. I even enjoyed taking the new yank tanks out for some laps, the new mustang seriously has the same Dna as the old 60's original  :P
new tyre app built in too. Replays look and sound superb.

Mark do you want to specify # of laps or shall I do it based on your 1:38? i.e 19 laps?

Bugger, forgot to test lap numbers, I think someone like Jeff or Fmg will do a 1:37 so best base it on that.

I'll stick to 19 laps then. Mind you as I can't get close to anything under 1:40 I think I'll make it 5 laps ;)

Great! Looking forward to tonight. Didn't had time to run the S3 version on Vallelunga. I did do a double sprint race over at NGR last weekend with the standard F458. That was very enjoyable. Also the graphics and sounds improved the immersion factor for me. Eager to see how the proper race cars react to the new tire model though.
(looks like tire wear is higher again on this new version)

Altough the S3 is a different animal,  i do have a good clue on where the track goes and we do have the base setup from last weeks race, so i expect to be able to do consistant laps. Looks like there will be other drivers with my pace tonight, should be fun. See you all tonight then.

I was playing around with f40's and McLaren F1 gtr's at Spa last night, absolute hubba hubba.  8) it's a real shame they aren't more balanced to race each other as both look and sound spectacular on track.
Am thinking of running some 90's GT racing soon using F40, F1 and Ruf 911 but they may have to race individually at different tracks, or a series using the McLaren as its a proper racing legend 8)

Mmmmmm. I will try those on Spa myself after tonights race. Need to check the improved Nordschleife also.

The F1 GTR seems way to fast for both F40 and Ruf YB. But the latter could run together, maybe with a little bit of weight balancing.
Same goes for Shelby Cobra vs Lambo Countach and the Audi Quattro vs Ford Escort RS..... just saying...
You could even consider a maximum drives per make to stimulate driving both available cars like Tony likes to do.

Did you guys see/try the La Sarthe Le Mans track btw? Could do for a rerun of the C9 vs Mazda 787 race. The Merc C9 LM should be good there...

Grr i hate it when they do these updates changing the whole experience.

However it feels like the tyres are stiffer now (from the GT3s anyway) so feels like the car will do what you want now and theres more grip. Hopefully this all translates to the road tyres which should make this easier with you facination with those more power than grip cars!

I always used to get the F40 and RUF lapping to within 10ths. Unless the tire model has seriously changed things then this should still be the case - it's just that the YB takes a very different driving style to get good speed from.

Phew that was tiring, I was soaked in sweat by the end.

Numbers went against us again but a plucky 7 took part, so big thanks to them for racing  :)

Qually was quite fierce in the top 4, very close.

Got a good race start and did my best to avoid the rear of Jeffs Ferrari this time, though it was close a couple of times as we fought for 2nd.! Fmg then ran wide and we fought for 1st for a while though Jeff had it in hand. He let me past for a while and it gave me the incentive to set a series of my fastest race laps with him chasing me, even nicking fastest race pb for a while! My highlight  ;D
But then some inevitable scruffy laps where I kept braking too late gave Jeff the lead back  ::)
A random oversteer spin on lap 12 sealed the deal and JR scampered off for the easy win in the end, shame I couldn't press him until the end.

If Fmg hadn't spun early on and Ed didn't have technical problems it would have been a humdinger 4 way fight for the win & podium, so the race could have been even better.

From the replay I span because I left the rubbered section of track while under braking and hadn't realised - This over heated my tires which caused some more rotations, then I clipped the kerb at 130 mph and it got away from me which practically melted my tires - causing yet more spins....  :(

I pulled it together and got consistent again, but it was way too little and way too late  ::)

Congrats to the fast types  :)

The car feels a lot better with the new tyre physics  :D.

Qually was going to be close, unfortunatly Ed didn't do it (I think because of internet issues?).

Slapped on hards just before the race, after never even trying them. Had my usual smokey and bad start, and FMG was off.
Was really struggling with the ice cold hards and couldn't keep up with FMG, as I was also getting nervous from the size of MJ in my rear view mirror  ;D.

Unfortunatly, FMG spun and the gap between MJ was a few seconds. Decided to let him past, as I didn't want us to both end up in no man's land.

To my surprise, I was struggling to keep up to him. He even held fastest lap for a while  :o ;) . Shame the pace came with being all over the place  ;D .

The hard tyres were actually pretty fast and never overheated as far as I saw. How was the wear on the mediums and can you see the wear some...where  () on the new tyre app?

Mediums worked fine for me during the race. I think the green bar to the outside of the tyres in the App shows wear and there was plenty left after the 19 laps I think. I wasn't checking that often as I was trying to chase Chris down. Only just caught him up before the end, another lap would have been fun as FMG had caught be by then as well. Could have been a momentous last lap, although those usually end badly for me  ::)

Jeezz, what a mistake on tires by me. I assumed the most left compound tires on the slider would be the best as is usually with the street cars. Really thought the trofeo's where some kind of mweh cup spec rubbish compound, so i had set the car up for the semislicks. Thanks Jeffrey for pointing it out as there is no explanation in the garage about the rubbers available.

Could tell the trofeo slick made the the car more grippy, so after the start i was really able to step on the loud pedal. Had a nice "Verstappen" into Campagnato and slotted in behind MJ. But after a couple  of laps suffered a similar problem as FMG i guess. My left rear was overheating as the car was not setup properly and made me spin 3 times on corner exit. To bad as it looked like we could have had a good scrap behind the leading group. Ah well, glad we have two more races in these cars. And congrats to the podium!

Well my 1st podium but to be fair more from the misfortune of others than my own puny skills. It was looking good at the beginning as Stef was all over me like a rash and really good, no contact, wheel to wheel, fun. And then as you say Stef it all went wrong. Then some weird warping which sent Animaled off into oblivion and Peter went from 6sec behind to 15sec behind in an instance which was also weird, meant I was on my own. The last 5 laps were tricky and had several moments but managed to keep it on the black stuff. Peter had made good time and reduced the 15sec to about 0.2sec by the time I crossed line, so very close Peter!

I won't be able to make the next race unfortunately so have a good one :)

Cheers Chris

Connection issues strikes again.
Funny thing is that I have 3 connections on separate lines in my house ... ok, one is wifi but that one is used only out of desperation when something goes wrong ...

Even funnier is that I had 24 hrs reconnection issue before and forgot to change time in new modem that I got week or so ago. In lap 8 - reconnect - "server seem to be unavailable" ...

Anyway, with 1.5 tire model I don`t have problem driving any car so you`ll see me more often.

Aaaand just saw PM from Mark ... lurking here every day but login only if I have something to say.

I didn't see you warping Ed even when you mentioned your ping, your car looked stable. Was your connection making the rest of us warp?

Title: Re: UKAC Season 1 Coppa dItalia - Vallelunga - Apr 6
Post by: Animal Ed on April 07, 2016, 01:44:11 PM +0100
No, no warping, only crazy ping (12xx) during the practice but that was because I was on home net.
For race I used shop net an no issues at all except that stupid reconnection.

That weird warping that Sutol saw was me cliping inside kerb and went across the grass into barrier with light speed.  :o

I would enjoy your podium finish Chris. :thumbup1: And indeed it was good fun. If i make an overtake like that if i was against AI, i would feel "ok, nice". But against real live drivers, especialy with these bunch which i rate highly, it turns into a great feeling. So thanks Chris for racing me and you just had your stuff together and i did not. I hope we can have a much longer fight on the track next time out.

@MJ, can you confirm the next venue will be on the A1 ring version 1.3 from the Racedepartement site? I guess i need all practice i can muster.
