Season 30 Professionals Trophy – Round 1 – Brands Hatch

The first round of the season will takes place at Brand Hatch 1967. Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit near Swanley in Kent, England. First used as a dirt track motorcycle circuit on farmland, it hosted 12 runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986 and currently holds many British and International racing events.

Gerhard Berger once said that Brands Hatch is "the best circuit in the world". Paddock Hill Bend is a renowned corner.

Until the number of registered drivers exceeds grid capacity drivers may join the server as soon as it appears in IGOR. Drivers are required to complete 50% distance to score points. This Season we don't have a Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Ditto here.  Just as I was diving into Paddock with you about 3s behind me.  A conspiracy against the Red Ball Specials?  Hmmm...

We'll have to see if Clive joins us on the pit wall too - I call conspiracy if he does as he was a few seconds behind me, too!

I suspected foul play against HER cars so kept my head down when I saw Tim vanish. Tris also di appeared from my mirrors and then I saw on prib that Doni had been vapourised too??!!  :scared: :scared:
there were those horrible few seconds as I waited for a black screen, or disco, but the gremlins obviously missed me and I got away.

ran in 3rd for a long lonely race, not quite able to catch Axel and Ronnie up front, until the gap to Ray started dropping with only 6 laps to go. Not sure what happened to ray ( fuel or engine??) but caught him as he parked it......2nd place with 2 laps to go ;D

Commiserations to those who got disco'd and grats to those who finished...all 3 of us. So at least we filled the podium.

So does anyone think that my cunning plan of missing the start and cruising lonely to a podium will be viable for the rest of the season? :hmmm:

Screen freeze at paddock bend whilst enjoying a great battle with Axel. Really disappointed.

Thanks for posting the link to the replay cap, Robert.  I just had a scan of it.  Carlos, Roo and I froze/disco'd at the same instant.  Tim and Tristan 3/4 of a lap later again at the same instant.  With five of nine starters suffering grief, is this event subject to...

1. A null result?
2. A re-run?

I would say that a re-run is in order.  That way, Dean can join the grid for a proper start and shunt off to an inglorious retirement at Paddock on Lap01.  :)

That said, maybe a re-run will give any absentees a chance to not miss the opening round of the season, the grid was a little thin.

There wil be a re-run of this race, probably as the last race of the season. Sorry to the (podium) finishers...this race is now marked as a non-championship race, so you will keep the driver stats ;)
