GPL still has tricks up its sleeve after all these years. >:( Quote Good luck to all still running. Ditto. Really enjoying my battle with Piero for 2nd place. About 10 laps in he made an error at the Gasworks hairpin and not being able to avoid him, I gave him the slightest of nudges. But that was enough for GPL's collision box to rip a wheel off my car :(. Pity, I do love racing around Monaco.
Good luck to those still running. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Historic Trophy (66) - Monaco - Jun 5 Post by: GregT on June 05, 2016, 10:04:25 PM +0100 Drats!
Complete chaos for me. I thought I had driven the T1F at Sachsenring and I was going to begin with that setup. I quickly realized I only had a T1G setup so I changed it's extension to the T1F's. The car was starting drive well as practice was ending. I gave 4th and 5th gear one click just before the race to make them longer. For some reason, that gave 4th a ratio between 2nd and 3rd gears. I had no idea what was happening the first time I shifted to 4th going up the hill. The car slowed down and when I looked at the tach it was well past where it should have been. I'm glad there was a gap so my problems didn't create a problem for others. It's difficult trying to double shift to 5th 3 times per lap when I usually use 5th just once. It didn't take long to lose any rhythm and wreck. I was about to give up or at least let Dean and Clive pass me. I broke four times the engine qualification and in the race I struggled with engine temperatures getting too high. However it was impossible to chase the great Tim! Congratulations to Tim and to all the survivors! At the next race Ciao |
