Season 30 Professionals Trophy – Round 6 – Nürburgring

We move to Germany to race at the legendary Nürburgring - Nordschleife. Since its construction (1925 - 1927), the Nordschleife has enjoyed a reputation as a terrifying and merciless route through the Eifel forests. An English journalist who visited the Nordschleife during the opening race on 18 June 1927 even concluded “that it seemed as if a reeling, drunken giant had been sent out to determine the route”. The Formula 1 pilot Sir John Young Jackie Stewart – after all a three-time world champion in 1969, 1971 and 1973 – was so impressed by the circuit that he gave it the name which it will probably never lose: Green Hell (Grüne Hölle).
Racing and winning on the Nordschleife has always been very special for racing drivers, because the track is one of the most demanding in the world. Tricky corners, treacherous crests, steep inclines and gradients and constantly changing road surfaces demand great skill from the driver and put vehicles to a hard test.

That was a fun race. Had a "blitz" start and took the lead from P3. Was able to hold on to the lead until the backstraight when Clive blasted by me. On lap 2 regained the lead when Clive spun off, but sadly had a spin myself at Adenauer Forst, putting my RR in the grass. Had to wait for Tris and Axel going by to rejoin. At the same moment Clive also spun again. Later that lap bogged down getting too much sideways, and Clive passed me again. Followed him for a while until I had a few offs on lap 5, losing touch with him. Lap 6 was my best lap, just edging out lap 4. Quite hard to hold off the faster guys in the BT7 here...too bad I made those mistakes, but it's all in the game...enjoyed the race thoroughly, I was laughing out loud a lot behind Clive who hung out the rear a lot.  ;D 8)

Very strong performances by Tris, Axel and Clive, well done guys!  :notworthy: Well done finishers, commiserations to the DNF's ;)
