HANDICAPPING
The tokens system remains for all drivers.
In the interest of having a competitive championship the faster drivers are requested to voluntarily select car that suits your ability, from Race 1. If you are consistently qualifying at the front of the grid,  finishing on the podium & recording fastest lap then you should be not be taking a faster car.
The championship will be reviewed after Race 3. Drivers may then be allocated to one of the following handicap groups
Group 1 BRM, Honda, or Cooper.
Group 2 as above + Brabham
Group 3 as above + Ferrari
For Round 8 the following handicap applies
David Rainier, Jani Posta & Philippe Girard – Group 3.

Drivers are permitted one Reset / Shift R per race, followed by a compulsory Stop & Go within two laps. If you take your reset on the last lap 15 seconds will be added to your time. A second Shift R will result in Disqualification unless it is the direct result of the first incident e.g. hit when respawning.
If you are the first car entering the pit lane to take your SnG aim to bring the car to a halt alongside the last pit stall - closest to the exit. As soon as your car is stationary you can go. You won't be penalised if you stop a little short or beyond the pit stall.
In the event that more than one car takes a SnG at the same time the following cars can perform their Stop & Go in line.
No overtaking in the pit lane.

Until the number of registered drivers exceeds grid capacity drivers may join the server as soon as it appears in IGOR.

Drivers are required to complete 50% distance to score points.

There is no Red Zone for this series, moderating will be on reported incidents only. Please remember that an additional 1 place penalty is awarded for Lap 1 incidents.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Password: see above

I've tried this circuit, but I just can't get enthused.  There is nothing about it that I enjoy, and the fact that it's a fantasy track just puts me off. Sorry.  :(

Got clipped from behind in T1. Needed a reset - got distracted about not having used the pits before & pressed Escape instead of Shift R. Second time this season - what an idiot!

Sorry Billy for the touch at the start.Like other time the consequence was drammatic compared to the speed.Few curves after Turner have thinked to prove to me the same filing with a touch from the back. Now i have understood why your car was not again on the track!

Philippe was really the best yesterday evening.
I can't understand where he found these 2 seconds / lap  less than other drivers !

It was a difficult race, I was overtaken by Bastian and Rich at the start.
I quickly (2nd lap ?) overtook Rich at the first turn after the starting line. Maybe there was contact or lag between our 2 cars but no damages.
I wait a mistake from Bastian and when it happened I got the 2nd position until the finish. But Bastian was only 7, then 5 then 3 seconds behind during almost all the race and I was always under pressure.

Now with a gap of 78 points with Philippe (but 2 results should be discarded), it will be very difficult to win the championship.
The 2 final races in Reims and Silverstone, 2 very fast tracks, will probably be with more drivers and they will have the opportunity to choose Eagle or Lotus.
So it should be more open !

Tricky track with blind corners and bends which tightened up . I suffered mostly from a severe lack of practice and found it hard to get the corner approach right , essential for a good lap .

Enjoyed the track the more i drove it but was always messing up on entry into those blind bits,  getting off line and screwing up  .

On a plus side there were no glitches , frame rate was good and no one got bumped .

Would deffo race here again , there are a lot worse tracks we have raced on  , the fact its a fantasy track shouldn't put anyone off , there are some good ones out there !

Grats to the Podiums and all finishers    :)

Had a good qually time but couldn't get near it during the race but a good start had me up  to 2nd then I found myself in faster company of Rainer and Bagrupp and they were quickly past and pulling away. A little ways behind was Dave and I thought I had the measure of him but he was either saving his tires or sandbagging because maybe two thirds into the race I had a little moment and he was past then I couldn't match his times after that, great racing though(BTW sorry about the nudge Dave)!
Great race
Grats to all finishers

On a different note has anyone got any info on force feedback set up cause I have no feeling at all during understeer is this normal ?I have a G25

Easy....
We must be training again and again.  ;D
For this track, I had driving every days during 14 days, between 30 mn - 45 mn each days.
this is the first time I prepare A race as well.  ::)

THIS IS THE SECRET !

I know, it is very hard to find free time for each race, because we have a private life, but that's the only way to drive fast !!

Do you use the FFB2 patch, the best way to go  ;) -> http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=4226&#entry30768

Wich value in the GEM checkbox?

Lower value will raise forces, test it with a bigger step ;)

Rich,
These are the settings I use for my Logitec wheel. I spent a couple of hours playing with the set up when I first bought a G25 several years ago - & have used the same ever since.
1) Control panel / game controllers
Degrees of rotation : 270 (Try steering hack for hairpin tracks)
Enable FF : yes
Overall effects strength : 125%
Spring effect : 90%
Damper effect : 50%
Enabling centring spring : yes
Centring spring strength : 50%

2) GEM - controls
Enable steering hack : yes
Enable force feedback : yes
Latency : 0.005
Damping : 25
Force : 55

Billy these settings are just the opposite what brr's FFB2 patch does  ;D

"Those ffb users who prefer to feel only the forces from the physics engine without any damping, centering, or similar forces should find this useful."

For me ffb2 gives me the possibility to drive very precise and feel the track as if driving a 60's F1 car!
Not an american limousine of the 60s...

PS
Only the degree of rotation is needed in the Control panel / game controllers (500° here)
as I suppose you have checked to let the Game override these settings...

Philippe,
Even with the practice that was a great performance. I checked the times from the Joe Shaw Trophy race, where the grid was most of the Works drivers. Your qualifying time would have put you second on the grid.

On the subject of G25 FF etc. my G25 uses single axis for accelerate / brakes .

In the past I always used separate axis for all the pedals but I cant see anywhere how to change things in Win7

I always thought seperate axis was better than single for car control , does it make a difference which we use ?

Billy...

Philippe's speed is indeed admirable but in reference to Works competitors, do you really think we vets would abide having a young punk like him ahead of us for very long?  I mean, just look at that avatar.  We might be older but that just makes us meaner.  The knives would be out and a bloody carve-up would be something to behold.  The poor, poor lad...

;)

PG and I are very well known to each other.  Well done, PG!  :)

Bernie as long as the calibration in game works as intended, you will have no problems,
as the game overrides the windows setting  ;)
