Title: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: Billy Nobrakes on October 20, 2016, 11:02:01 PM +0100 Season 30 Works Trophy – Round 9 – Reims
The circuit Reims-Gueux was a Grand Prix motor racing road course, located in north-eastern France, established in 1926. The triangular layout of public roads formed three sectors between the villages of Thillois and Gueux over the La Garenne / Gueux intersection of Route nationale 31. The circuit became known to be among the fastest of the era for its two long straights (approximately 2.2 km in length each) allowing maximum straight-line speed, resulting in many famous slipstream battles. As we head to the penultimate race of the season the championship is headed by Samb, Doni & Greg. With two postponed & missed races it is too early to call. Race List = iGOR Server = UKGPL_9 IP = see iGOR Race date = Sunday 23-10-16 Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT) Track= reims (http://gpltd.bcsims.com/include/downloadtrack.php?&track=reims&track_link=/tracks/reims_gpl.zip) Race length = 23 1aps (50 minutes) Variant = 1967 60fps patch used = 60fpsV2newmod Damage Model = Pro Qualifying time = 30 minutes Replays Available Driver lists can be found at the Works Trophy Page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=548&theme=6) HANDICAPPING The tokens system remains for all drivers. If you are consistently qualifying at the front of the grid, finishing on the podium & recording fastest lap then you should be not be taking a faster car. The championship will be reviewed after Race 3. Drivers may then be allocated to one of the following handicap groups Group 1 BRM, Honda, or Cooper, Group 2 as above + Brabham Group 3 as above + Ferrari No handicap will apply for this race. Until the number of registered drivers exceeds grid capacity drivers may join the server as soon as it appears in IGOR. Drivers are required to complete 50% distance to score points. There is no Red Zone for this series, moderating will be on reported incidents only. Please remember that an additional 1 place penalty is awarded for Lap 1 incidents. Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line. So there is a possibility to see the end of the Austin F1 race... Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: DLogan on October 23, 2016, 09:56:11 PM +0100 Engine again, lap 7 this time. >:(
Good fun 'til then, thanks Clive, good to see you back. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: Samb on October 23, 2016, 09:57:43 PM +0100 Silly mistake from me again. Johnny passed me at the first corner and ran slightly wide. I did in sympathy, got a rear wheel on the grass, spun out of control and clouted one of the marshaling posts, ripping off a wheel......
Good luck to all still running, good to see you back Clive :). Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: Ronniepeterson on October 23, 2016, 09:58:51 PM +0100 That you Doni or Max ;)

My race ended rather early when I ran wide into T2. That hay field is rather attracted to metal... Did not have time to think about what car so, as I still have a sack full of tokens, I thought I would take the Eagle as it is a nice drive, but to handicap myself I got Mabel to fill the tanks to the brim. I was surprised ( and a little disappointed) to find that all of that weight knocked about 1.5 secs a lap off my pace :o. Something that Dean and later Jonny capitalised on. :( Sorry to see you blow that engine Dean, I was enjoying our tussle. Finished the race with 25galls of Grats to Axel who set a fast pace up front and took a deserved win and JJ for a great recovery drive after he went off...I was hoping that he would make the same mistake again, but he didn't. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: Cookie on October 23, 2016, 10:56:45 PM +0100 LOL ;D ;D ;D
as I had no points yet I could not see my tokens, so I thought I had enough, but this was an error... Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: Doni Yourth on October 23, 2016, 11:01:21 PM +0100 LOL! Good one, Ray! :)
I wanted to jump in here early to offer Ray apologies for the carve ups as I thought that you were another Eagle, the self-same one(initials, MM)that almost short-braked me into a shunt at T2 on Lap01. I was furious at that! 'What are you doing?!?!' I lost track of who was where after running down the escape road at the end of that opening round. Case of mistaken identity. After seeing your Weslake hand grenade in front of me on the pit straight, I raised my arm thinking, 'Good riddance!' Once again, my apologies. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: Robert Fleurke on October 23, 2016, 11:07:28 PM +0100 Ouch, poor Axel :( Finally a finish, a very fine consistent drive, and then again awarded no points...
Grats anyway on a fine drive, also grats to Jonny and Clive. Early race was fun, especially lap 1 with Dean, and after I took the long route (that I repeated later in the race). Setup wasn't feeling great, had pumped up the tires, but it did cost me traction and handling... Thanks for racing and welcome back Clive! :) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 30 (2016) Works Trophy (67) - Reims - Oct 23 Post by: JonnyO on October 24, 2016, 12:19:54 AM +0100 Ops Axel !!! .....well , congrats for your performance.
