HANDICAPPING
The tokens system remains for all drivers.
In the interest of having a competitive championship the faster drivers are requested to voluntarily select car that suits your ability, from Race 1. If you are consistently qualifying at the front of the grid,  finishing on the podium & recording fastest lap then you should be not be taking a faster car.
The championship will be reviewed after Race 3. Drivers may then be allocated to one of the following handicap groups
Group 1 BRM, Honda, or Cooper.
Group 2 as above + Brabham
Group 3 as above + Ferrari
For Round 8 the following handicap applies
David Rainier, Jani Posta & Philippe Girard – Group 3.

Drivers are permitted one Reset / Shift R per race, followed by a compulsory Stop & Go within two laps. If you take your reset on the last lap 15 seconds will be added to your time. A second Shift R will result in Disqualification unless it is the direct result of the first incident e.g. hit when respawning.
If you are the first car entering the pit lane to take your SnG aim to bring the car to a halt alongside the last pit stall - closest to the exit. As soon as your car is stationary you can go. You won't be penalised if you stop a little short or beyond the pit stall.
In the event that more than one car takes a SnG at the same time the following cars can perform their Stop & Go in line.
No overtaking in the pit lane.

Until the number of registered drivers exceeds grid capacity drivers may join the server as soon as it appears in IGOR.

Drivers are required to complete 50% distance to score points.

There is no Red Zone for this series, moderating will be on reported incidents only. Please remember that an additional 1 place penalty is awarded for Lap 1 incidents.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

The latest W10 update seems to have messed up my G25 and the problem that I had a few months ago has recurred -GPL recognises the axes but not the buttons (or vice versa).
So my only option is to use auto shift -I hope this doesn't break any rules.

Same thing happened to me. Also pribulda stops working and there's some kind of a shadow on the right side of the screen when using opengl. I rolled back the update, I might never update windows again :).

For a long time, I was 2nd on the grid, then I went to 4th.  Got a reasonable start, going round in 3rd. Philippe overtook me, then must have had a problem, because I finished in 3rd.  I was thinking this had secured my 3rd in the championship, but had reckoned without Bastian, who won the race.

Congratulations to Philippe on his championship win - well deserved, mon ami. :)

 ::) 8) ??? 8) ::) 8)
Thank you to all
I'm really happy to win this title.
Thanks  to David,  Dave, Bastian,  Ronnie, Francis, Syd, Jani, Michael, Bernie and Rich, for the great battles on this season.  A special thanks to Billy for the good organisation and for is friendship.

For the last race, I don't understand my mistake on the start.  I am in first on the grid,  but I put the 4th gear for starting  ;D ;D
I find myself back on the grid on the first turn,  and I manage to find myself in 3 rd position,  behind the battle between Bastian and Syd.
Shame not to have opportunity to participated to this battle.
5 laps before the end,  I make a mistake and I got a spin by Bernie,  seems to me.  So I lost m'y 3rd position.  No problem, because my friend dave rainier is behind me,  So I win the championship.

 ;)

For the last race I decided to cash in all my tokens and take the best car available, which was eagle.
In qualifying I kept trying to do a lap with speed shifting, and the engine kept blowing up every time :D. So in the end I did a lap without speed shifting and managed to get third. I was on a better lap at the end of Q, perhaps good enough for pole, but went wide into abbeys and crashed.
At the start Philippe went off to the left and I got behind Bastian. I thought with my Eagle top speed I would be able to overtake him, but I though wrong. I could keep up, but I just couldn't get close enough to attack. After a while it was obvious that it would take a mistake by Bastian to get past, so I settled in, and kept just putting in consistent lap times. About halfway through the race Bastian made that mistake, he spun at Becketts. I was very close behind,  and just managed to miss him and take the lead. I think I was about 3 seconds ahead after that. But I was also badly overheating my front right tire. At this time we also ran into a few backmarkers. I had to back off a bit to cool off the tire, and some perhaps not so great lapping brought Bastin back right behind me. It seems I wasn't going through the last turn so well, as first time I went wide, Bastian sped past me. Then a little later I passed him back, don't remember exactly where, maybe at Stove? But he ran right by me again at the last turn. Then with six laps to go, Bastian went wide at t1, and I attacked on the run to Maggots. We tried to go side by side, me on the outside, him on the inside, but it didn't work. I don't know if we touched, but I know I clipped the grass on the outside and spun. I lost six seconds in the accidents, and it was only six laps to go. After that it was hammertime, as Lewis would say :). I drove qually laps till the end, and I'm sure Bastian took a little bit easier as he probably thought he had it in the bag. I eventually caught him back and it was really close through the last half of the last lap, but he hung on.
Grats Bastian on the win, and Ronnie for the third place. Grats too Phillipe on winning the championship.

After landing on my roof for the second time and retiring I decided to stick around and watch the final laps - and what laps they were riding along with Syd and Bastian. Great racing.
And congratulations to fellow Soggies Bernie and Ronnie on crossing the finishing line.

Grats Philippe for a well deserved championship.
Silverstone is not a track who like me (the opposite is also true !) and I never was relax with the Ferrari. The tyres were overheating and I had to be very careful in the turns but I made several spins.

Grats to phillipe, deserved Champion and thx Syd for a great battle yesterday.

Nothing to add to Syd's report, just I hope we had no touch but going side by side through that corner wasn't a bad Idea.
The first time you passed me i could avoid the spin but my speed was gone. There was a slight contact which corrected my direction of driving.

Cya all next season, thx to the orga,
Bastian
