If nobody is against it, I'd like to allow/invite Bastian, Philippe and Dave R. in this race, also since they are bound for Pros next year or have run Pro before. PW will be given in chatroom. ;)

...Very sorry for ruins...

Everyone continued, the only damage my GPLRA report says happened was to Carlos (who wasn't paying close attention to activities further up the grid, apparently  :-X), so don't worry about it.

And, Andy: you hold no responsibility for our lap one contact. I was looking for a gap and swerved to avoid you. I was sure I was clear, and was quite surprised to find myself sideways into the hedge. My replay shows a 2 foot gap between our cars, but hey, GPL =/= reality sometimes.

Grats to Tris on the championship.

Cheers Dean. It is weird sometimes. I was glad to let you go as my race pace was awful.
My mechanical report (but not the replay) shows Dean and Carlos exploding engines and doing shift-R in the start crash. Clearly that's not what happened in a Pro race!
Grats to all finishers.

Sorry to hear guys...

Had a good quali and race, leading comfortably with 6s, but missed the line entering Surtees and went off after midrace. Fell back to 3rd just behind Axel and Clive. Both touched at Druids, and inherited P2 trying to push Clive. But he found more speed later in the race and I made some little mistakes pushing too much...

Great race and pace Clive, well done Axel, unlucky at Druids! ;)

The driving view was carried over from practise happily. Now set it with GPLShift in car, to have the mirrors mostly visible and optimizing view. I'm racing now at 106degrees FOV with 4320x900 resolution, triple screen, no letterbox. This gives a way better perspective of the track and more immersion. The bezels of my main 24" are quite thin. Looking for a 22" monitor still to complete a 22/24/22 setup. Now with 19" monitors it's usable, but with 22" height dimensions will be just right, since it's 16:10 compared 16:9 for my 24".

F312 @ 102 FOV with my current provisional 19/24/19 setup:

Quali was ok considering I had not practiced & the race went ok too with my usual couple of errors until the engine let go with 4 to go. I can't remember the last time I blew an engine so a little disappointed.
grats podium & finishers. thanks admins.

Found a good quali lap with Sam's setup, ne personal best by half a second.
Was in the start problems with phillippe but could close the gap shortly but my tires went more and more into
red temperatures. Trying to hold the pace made them even more red and I was last when I decided tired to leave the race.

Good to see Robert on track, although somewhat envious of his panoramic monitor setup !!!  \\That looks awesome Robert and has definitely set me thinking.......... I need to upgrade my old PC anyway ( 2.3ghz , 2gb ram and winXP with a hard disk that is very short on space ) and there are deals out there with 3 screen setups and some decent hardware specs.
I might just treat myself!!  ;)

I thought that I had used a successful BT11 at Brands before, in fact I am absolutely sure that I have! but I think I must either have deleted the setup, or I created it another another driving alias.  So qually was spent tweaking and adjusting the race setup and I managed only 1 low fuel run to get a decent grid spot.

Even then, as the session ended I committed the cardinal sin of making a further adjustment to the diff before joining the grid  :scared: :scared: The car had been showing a tendency to oversteer if I got on the gas too heavy or too early so I upped the power side of the diff by one click...................and just hoped that I had not screwed a 90% decent setup.
I almost bogged down off the grid and Ronnie zipped past into Paddock Hill bend. But after a short while it seems that he was either struggling with cold tyres or the blistering pace set by Robert in that screaming BT7. Ronnie eventually ran wide and I slipped through to close up on Axel who was running in 3rd behind Robert and Tris. I was easily able to stay with Axel, but I could see Robert and Tris easing a small gap, so I closed up on Axel and persuaded him that he needed to go faster  ;D

At about half distance Tris suddenly lost pace and Axel and myself made quite easy passes. By this time Robert was a couple of seconds clear and I wanted to get after him if I could. I felt that I was quicker than Axel, but not quite quick enough to make a pass as his Lotus had more acceleration out of critical corners. I think I might need to look at my setup and drop 3rd gear by a click as the revs were just too low out of Surtees to get max warp speed.
For lap after lap I hassled Axel, hoping for a mistake that would create an opening but he drove a tremendous defensive line and the small errors he did make were not enough to let me through. Then we passed a recovering BT7 at Surtees and we were now running 1-2, but with a dangerously quick Robert not very far behind!!

By this time I knew that I could go quicker as I was often backing off mid corner to avoid a Lotus gearbox and I was, by now, catching occasional glimpses of Robert's BT7 in my mirrors. Then I got a run on Axel out of Stirling's down to Clearways and forced him to take a tighter inside line. That slightly compromised his exit and I was almost up the inside approaching Paddock Hill. Again, this kept Axel on the wide  ( but slightly faster) line and I hugged the inside kerb and nailed the gas. So glad that the diff adjustment had cured the oversteer as we powered up to Druids. I was now completely alongside Axel and had the inside line, but I knew I would have to brake as late as possible to keep him wide.

Apologies to Axel for the contact at the apex of Druids. I was really trying to keep the car tucked in close to the grass. I'll submit a report and let the mods take a view on that incident Axel. When Axel's engine sound vanished I hesitated and looked in my mirrors to see what had happened, but the only thing I saw was a blue BT7 launching out of druids and I knew that I was potentially in trouble with Robert on my tail.
The next 2 laps were a lesson in how NOT to drive when under pressure as I was outbraking myself into almost every corner and losing valuable time applying opp lock and correcting wild slides.
A few choice words to myself and I got things under control to put in a few neat and controlled laps that eased me away from Robert ( I did have the faster car, so I won't claim to be a better driver!!) and I was able to keep him at a safe distance until the flag.
Grat to Tris on a dominant championship, sorry to hear that he had probs with his connection. Huge respect to Robert on his performance in the BT7 and relieved that Axel could continue to take 3rd place for the season.

Clive, it's quite easy to use triple screen with AMD cards, using Eyefinity option in the driver software that will allow more monitors to act like one monitor. With older graphics cards/monitors, like I have, I did need to make one legacy (displayport-displayport) connection  (using an active display port adapter to my 24" DVI monitor, to enable 3 or more  monitors). Newer systems/cards should be easier to work with.

As said, it isn't ideal right now, but planning to make a 3 monitor mount for my new cockpit which needs some work also. Together with 22" monitors as sidemonitors it should be better. Both 19" I bought for only 25€, have a few dead pixels, but are usable so far. But now found out the PSU fan quit working...

Great race Clive, you kept on going faster and were a deserved winner coming back from 4th. Without my mistake might have managed it, but it made for an interesting task. I was confident I could stay with you, but I couldn't! Always fun seeing you hanging out the rear anyway  8)

Grats to Tris for dominating the championship, finally got that elusive 65 Pro title, well deserved! Also great job by my teamie Axel, who came close to win a few races, but also was unlucky at times. Thanks all for racing this season. Was challenging in the BT7 but still had some great fun races and tried to give my best. Also thanks for a relative easy season for moderating.

Mod report is up. Thanks to all Pro drivers this season for making my job easy. Many thanks to Axel for hosting the races and importing the results!

Many congrats to Tristan Bot as our new Pro champion, very dominating, even when fading a bit late season. Also grats to Axel finishing 3rd in the standings, after a close battle with Clive who also ran a good season, winning the last race as well. Roo won 2 races in great style, and also a honorable mention to Andy Livingston with some good podiums and very consistent drives in general!

Cheers guys, thanks for all the fun this season! :)
