Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

As we discovered at Monza, these cars won't do 30 minutes+ without refueling, more like 20 minutes+.

What to do, what to do  :-\

Don't think the fuel usage in these cars will vary much between tracks. At Monza, I reset the server for a 20 minute race and with a final lap only left a couple of litres from a full tank.

Maybe we could consider doing a double header with these as we do with the RR Formula series? 2x20 min, reverse grid 2nd race :)

I do find it amazing that these cars only do 20 mins must be a sector 3 thing!

I think the idea of 2 races is a good one.

Double header sounds like what the BTCC people do, so would be almost real world. I thought of turning off fuel
useage, but when I do that off like it disables all the setup options, not just fuel.
Double header with reverse grid sounds fun. I will make it so cap'n.

1st post still says 30 min race, I'm right assuming we did adopt the dual header format aren't I? Need the right racing head on ;)

No , it's me being senile.
I have created a 2nd event, do I need to create a 2nd page as well? I assume not as the results update the one page.

Sorry no idea, I guess GT's your man. He did the Formula RaceRoom events did he not?

I think I have done it. it's awkward adding a 2nd race to an existing one, it is apparently easier to delete the single event
and then create 2 new ones, that way the event page is selectable for both events.

Tony kindly handles all the LM2 bits for me, I just create the posts.

I've created double headers before, I just couldn't remember what I did.
I "think" it is done ok now

That was fun. ;D I don't think the physics model is anything like close to a real front drive race car
lift off oversteer is what you get with FWD, but the it shouldn't feel like the back end is on a wet track
while the front is on a dry one  :o
That said, with some setup taming and carefull driving they are good fun.

The reverse grid didn't seem to make any effect on the race! by the 1st corner the quicker cars had
out dragged me and Stephen and were already in front. I lost it in T1 being probably over cautious
and then had great fun chasing Stephen, sorry for the tap Stephen I misjudged you braking point  :-[

I set the races to 19 mins to allow for the last lap possibly taking us beyond the fuel range
and it worked out just right I thought.  8)

Agree there is a slight disconnect with the fwd feel, I remember years back a GTR2 mod ( honda challenge ) that felt spot on. Still fun to balance these on the limit with throttle.  I tried a few setups mainly played with gearing, however default was more or less better for me.   Was surprised I squeezed through untangled at start of Race 2.  Enjoyed the little scrap with Tudor, was fun and constant pressure led to my slip turn3 toward the end.  Congrats for the win.

I like this 2 race reverse grid format and was looking forward to some dicing in race 2 as these cars are slow enough to make passing a challenge.  :fencing: Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on which way you look at it) I had a great start and was surprised to find myself in the lead by T1.

Both races were were superb with very close racing between myself and Carl, both giving each other room when needed and without any contact which is hardly in the spirit of real touring cars but definitely the way we like to race here....great stuff  8)

Unfortunately because of a change of job/career I'll miss the next WTCC event and quite a few of our Thursday nights thereafter :(

Thanks Pete, I at least know a long way in advance which Thursdays I'm working and having just checked my datesheet it actually doesn't look too bad.

Why were you depressed with the AC @ VIR? was a messy start, but didn't see much after that, except me falling off lots...

Mainly with myself! And how bad these cars are on cold tyres. You spend so long practising to do a quick lap that the first laps are like a whole different car and track and its difficult to get out of the mindset of a normal lap. Wasnt sure if the twiddly bits were still flat like they are normally, found out they werent so went off, tried to rejoin thinking people wouldnt be on the inside of the quick LH but got hit and sent into the barriers with damage. Didnt last the first lap. Going from happy to depressed in a short time drove me to quit out.
