Just to clarify, which track layout will be used?
Ingame we have Nürburgring Sprint, Nürburgring Sprint (GT), Nürburgring GP and Nürburgring GP (GT) :P

It's the Nurburgring Sprint-GT layout..thought I had put that in the race post but can see I put GP instead of GT  ::)

I noticed in the onboard lap that the Porsche cup uses the old tighter chicane at the end of the back straight so I think I will use that too. It also creates another overtaking opportunity so win win...even though I'm not particularly keen on that nasty chicane!
Not sure which layout name that is in AC will have to check in game.

It's the sprint GP version. They use the tighter chicane for F1 since the faster one was too dangerous. It does create an extra overtaking oppertunity so thats a plus.

Do they always race before the F1 race? I saw them racing last year on Spa.

Yeah Porsche Supercup is always on the f1 calendar at the European races

Restarted with tighter chicane.

Practice server now restarted with the event driver list, please could people find a quiet minute to connect to the server to check their entry is correctly configured.

Ah good point about free slots, maybe remove those 4 extra names off the driver file Pete? If they haven't showed interest by now they are not likely too in next few days. To get extra spaces do we need that ocrw? Version with 32 pit garage for all tracks?

For the 32 pit track versions everyone needs the updated track files if I understand it correctly. That may well prohibit casual passers by as they won't have it nor probably know where to get it. We've got a good entry for this race, I'd be inclined to leave the PW protected server up so people can test their skins are properly assigned and after the race we'll revert to an open practice server and standard AC skins like we used to do for the GT3 races.

Tested and the skin is correct.

I'll see if I cant round up a few of the newer people at Core this Sunday. First race with the Abarths and the grid is filled with the max 32 drivers. No idea why those things are so popular, 1st track is the same as with the Porsche cup but it just feels so much more fun with the Porsche.

Yeah good point about limiting 'turn up ' drivers on the practise server, not that any of them tend to migrate to actually racing with us, Thomas could be the new exception  ;D

I have no idea why Abarth racing is so popular either  ??? Especially as they ran it only a few months ago already. Must be Sunday's making core more popular as I don't see anything over there that's any better than here. I often look to join the races there but abarths and HyperCars don't do it for me.

IMO, their website looks a lot more "professional", instead of just a forum.

Pete, can you increase practise time in the server? It's set for only 15 mins

they did Abarths in March - April 16,

i know why its popular, and that's because they are dead easy to drive being fwd and give the average punter a chance at actually competing, however this should be the case with any 'slow' car, Im not racing the abarths, last time i did it i started at the back of the grid and still found it god awful boring..

i'm looking forward to the cup season..

I hate the tighter chicane at this track, I've never liked it in any category  :( it's so tight and clumsy. Oh well, same for everyone  ;)
Happy to be 3rd fastest so far  :P but found the track very slippy online today and had a few oversteer offs.

as only 8 of us have ventured onto the server so far I'm assuming the rest of you are already super fast and well practised in these cars then?  ;D

i will try to make it to the first race tho, even with 0 practice... got a nice setup that i use as a base so that should be enough for at least having a good time

Just curious - I ventured onto the server to check connection tonight (My times currently suck!) and I'm in one of the original skins - 936 or something.

Les, type ".org.uk" into the search box at the select server screen. Much easier than manually searching through all the servers. You shouldn't need to change anything at your end.

Also turn all the filters off just in case.

Matt, you can join tonight but you would have to do it in booking period as I don't have an entry for you in the drivers file. If you think you may be more regular than just once then I could add you. Also you don't have to install the skins as AC will assign random ones for you to see whereas rest of us will see assigned skins.

Latest driver entry file on the server, including you Matt. I don't think the driver name really matters but if you get a chance to connect before server start time of 7:15 that would check it all out, i.e. preferably try before 7pm so we have a chance to fix it and still start the server on time ;)

Because we have dumped the booking system and have 22 drivers on the entry list. Wasn't worth the admin for 2 potential extra drivers to turn up on the night. We may be missing something as we don't have your experience for setting up races in AC. I know we could use ocrw versions of tracks for more entries but not something we suffer from  :-[

Thanks for the race guys, grats Chris, Nice clean racing. Running a comfortable 6th and a car from nowhere (lag) smashed me off track, no matter I only put 17 laps of fuel in it as the test server had >:( Oh well, try and cut the school boy errors out next time.

Great race fellas. That was fun. Wasn't expecting these cars to be so lively, so that was a nice surprise, they were dulled enough that mortals can drive them with just a hint of devil in there, a perfect combo. They produced great racing. although quite hard to overtake, as you'd expect. Very clean start throughout the field. Shame about the few warp/lag problems that caused a few incidents later on. 5th position with no practice is beyond my wildest expectations and well done to the podium on their superior pace. Is that the best AC grid we've had, looked great with so many drivers. Well done Mark and other organisers for their efforts.

Thanks Simon :) glad it mostly went smoothly for round one and a fantastic full grid of 21 cars  8)

Only 2 glitches were the skins have suddenly gone random  ::) yet mine was correct all week on the server. :-\ and secondly, a couple of warping cars semi ruined mine and Thomas' race  :( (were the warpers on wi-Fi?)

Race start was very clean and tidy, well done all  :thumbup2:

I was locked in a tight pack with Simon and Michael ahead until lap 7 when Denis' warping car appeared from nowhere and smashed me off track  :'( weird as he had been a few cars ahead  ??? I lost about 5-10 secs and fell behind Bob but luckily with a gap back to others.  I was able to chase Bob hard for a few laps and got past with a nifty move set up at the chicane  :)
Then I had to chase after Micheal and Simon battling up ahead. I closed the gap then Michael span off after Simon passed him :o
Now I was 7th ! But Simon still had the edge to stay ahead. Then unlucky for nfsw with 1 lap to go he went off and I finished a hard earned 6th  :)

Congrats to Chris on the win and podium guys, great pace  8)

Any grievances, watch the replay first then report to me or Pete if it warrants attention.

Ahhh, a race to forget for me.

Started P3 and was able to overtake Maikel at the Start (looked like his wheel steered to the left right after the lights went out) and also got passed Chris in Turn1. Hold on for P1 the first two laps I think, but as expected Maikel and Chris were much faster so I let them through.

So back at P3 I had a comfortable run but suddenly lost the car and spun at the grass, P6 after that and very angry about myself :censored:
Was able to get back to P5 and to the rear of fmg (sorry for the contact in turn 1), but could't go past him. Last lap I lost the car again and crashed into the barrier, finished P7 in the end  :-\

Sorry Chris I can see what the error is, we had Hesketh_24 in the entry file and it should have been 24_Hesketh. Will be sorted for next week.

That was a great race.

Starting 2nd with a close quali time, I forgot I had my wheel turned almost completely to the left, so I made abit of a swerve to the middle at the start, lost 1 position to nsfw who then dove into T1 and coming out at P1. Was waiting for a oppertunity which happened around lap 4 or so, Chris made a pass on nsfw and I took full advantage of the space that was there  ;D

Then it was just a close battle with Chris for the rest of the race, though he did wait twice when I made a mistake and the gap got bigger then a second . Then halfway through I had an amazing overtake down the main straight claiming first ( Chris had enough of being chased and let me pass  :P ), though I gave it back a few laps later completely intentional and slightly sideways  8)

Then I did manage an actual overtake when Chris outbraked himself at the chicane, but he took that one back on the last lap.

Hope the rest of these racing are exciting as this one was.

Sorry about the skin mishap Chris, not sure how that happened as I read them from car directory. But my skin was wrong too and i saw Thomas was in my skin. Odd. Been a frantic week so will recheck the drivers list.

Wow, what a hard,  intense but fun race. Qualified 11th which is pretty good for me as I'm awful at qualifying. Made a great start and made up two places. The start was super clean with some lovely side by racing. Then had a super intense race being chased by Simon and wasn't doing that bad but my car was quite a handful at times. Moved up to 6th but Simon got a good run on the inside to the last corner and snuck ahead. Attempted a switch back but lost it getting back on the power and lost another place. Ended up finishing 8th which I'm very happy about.

As for the skins, some of the cars were all white with black wheels and I was so wishing my car looked like this :(

Yes I would like be added.. I've been able to be home early work is a lil slow... so I would love to race when I can. I hope I didn't ruin anything!

First few laps in a whole bunch of cars was fun, Bob just ahead of me I think. Then I got a bit too much kerb at T3 and had a silly spin. Some good racing also further down the pack, although I did get taken out a couple of times. Never mind, all good fun, thanks MJ and all.


You meant at T1? Yeah that was me, no worries.

Btw was it just me or did others have trouble getting heat into their tyres? I didn't notice this in practice at all, but in the race my right-side tyres stayed in the blue most of the time. Bad tyre pressures/setup, or just driving too slow..?!

Frex, for me it was the other way around, my tyres stayed green for most of the race whereas in practice they were blue. As is usual for me, I went faster in the race than practice by 0.7 of a second.

Good to see so many turn up, couldn't help but smile to see 22 people, made for a very busy race. I seem to struggle with inconsistent downshifting into the two big stops. Some laps it will drop down quickly without thinking, other laps I couldn't get down to 2nd in time for the final chicane. I got quite focused on it and got a bit of a complex when approaching them. I tried waiting for the revs to drop, going down quickly , off and on throttle. But for most laps it worked ok, but for a couple I didn't know if I would make the corner.

Was running ok early on, but had to go the wrong way around the final chicane having not been able to stop in time while being stuck in third. But after that it was chance to just drive.

It does worry me if the tyre pressures are correct it took a good two laps for them to feel like you can lean on them. Why are they all the way down the bottom of the allowable range?

I did find the odd sticking gear up at the chicane braking zone, not sure why that is.

Anyone have luck downloading the replay? I tried 3 times last night but it wouldn't complete the dl.

New v10 tyres need that. The GT3's are the same now. I think I read somewhere on the AC forum the ideal pressure for these was between 23 and 26... or something like that.

I suspect the gear change thing is similar to R3E where it won't let you downshift if the revs are too high

Thanks for the vid Maikel, unfortunately it's all from your lofty 3rd place  ;) so other than seeing a full pack of cars in your mirrors it doesn't really showcase the action through the field. We need a clever film maker from the replay...any budding Spieibergs on here?  :)

Re-reading race posts there's s couple of references to contacts further down the grid. I want to watch the replay and put my judges hat on (when I get the chance) but will probably just be warnings for round 1 if anything silly spotted. Had no complaints yet which is good  :angel:
