Hi Thomas,

Always nice to see some new faces around here.

Though I thought your name rang a bell, did a quick check on stracker and apparently you raced a few laps on the practise server once...some time ago.....at Hungaroring with the GT3's  ;D
No idea why I remembered that though ???  8)

It's because I am editing the file that I wanted your skins  ;)

If anyone has access to the game directories in front of them could you tell me the official title of the car? ie 'ks_porschecup etc'
I'm at work but hoping to sneak some edits in  ;D

You have my skin dont you?

Yes, incorporated and you can see it listed next to your name in the driver list in post 1  ;)

And okay Pete, skin choice added to the file.

The driver entry file is now done. I just want to check to see the skins I assigned to those who weren't fussed don't look too similar to others then I'll pm the file to Pete to put on the server. You guys can then try them out and let me know if you want anything changed before Tuesday.

Would be cool if we could get a couple more drivers to give us a 20 car entry. Sutol? Paul Mcloud? Luka?
Even with 18 same spec cars it's going to be close frantic racing action  :) Grid position will be important!

Ps Thomas - still need your steam guid beginning 7656...

Okay Chris I had left you in the drivers file in the hope you may join in  :)  We have 19 drivers  :o ...just one more will do nicely! GaryP already said he'd love too but too busy with his modding.

At Brocookie, no problem using an external skin, will incorporate it.

Practice server now restarted with the event driver list, please could people find a quiet minute to connect to the server to check their entry is correctly configured.

As there are no 'free' slots I've set the server to use the normal practice password. For anyone new or who has forgotten it look here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2929.0)

My advert thread for this new series over at Kunos generated over 340 views, yet only two responses  :o it really is hard work to attract new drivers. I don't get it really as surely the Porsche cup car is popular and you would think they'd like the idea of racing 20 other cup cars over several rounds!?

Maybe I need to run an Abarth series  ::)

...nope!

Also quite surprised no more of the Core boys would like to race here. It hardly clashes with a Sunday Abarth race  :-\

Abarth racing would still be fun though - Used to do it a lot on the public servers for netKar.

Porsches are just faster fun is all ;)

The Abarths are terribly boring to drive compared to the awesomeness off the Porsche Cup.

It is fun however to go 4 wide in a corner and make it out alife, which is quite easy with them.  ;D

y no VIR in the calendar :(( i never did a single race at this lovely track and the Cup cars would be perfect for it

It doesn't really fit in with the euro selection of tracks I chose, albeit I admit it's a great track. I prefer familiar tracks for this short series otherwise those with less practise time need to learn the car and track...not worth it for a half hour race.

Thanks for supplying you guid and skin choice, I will get you added to the drivers list so you don't have to worry about booking etc, just turn up  :) Might be worth checking your ping when a few of us online as a warping car in a close pack of cars could be a nightmare.

Edit there is no skin 911, can you pick another?

Welcome Alexey, you can find the password for practice sessions here, https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2929.0

The race password appears at the top of the race topic close to race time, usually 24 hours I think.

The server should always have our site name in its title, I use the search feature and looking for .org.uk usually finds just ours.

Got it Les, you are now in the drivers entry list which means you do not have to book in etc, just turn up anytime upto race start. I have put your drivers name as LesN...assume that's what you are called in AC?

it might not show up immediately in the server as although ive emailed it to Pete, he has to install it his end.  :)

To the new drivers, make sure to grab the skinpack and couple of custom skins linked to in the first post. Not essential but makes the grid cooler and car/drivers more identifiable.

21 drivers...ooft!  :o

Mark . Two question ( i did not find answers in GTR regulations):
1. Overtake in turns rules. What condition will be enough to have equal rights in turns (opponents positioning): "cars in wheel base " or "cars in body "?
2. What ALLOWED_TYRES_OUT= will be in qualy and race ( btw it can be not the same) ?

Title: Re: UKAC Porsche Cup Series 2017 - Jan 11th start
Post by: Mark J on January 11, 2017, 01:23:32 PM +0000
2nd one I can answer, we do not allow all 4 wheels off the Tarmac so no straight lining across inside of the chicane for instance. 2 wheels off is allowed.

First question is always contentious but my understanding is if a car is more than halfway alongside then you have to give him room but if he's just sticking his nose in then you have the right to shut the door or make him back out of the attack, avoiding contact naturally. With the close racing these cars can generate then I expect a bit of side by side contact in corners, I just don't want to see cars turning in to each other or barging the other car off the track.
We mostly self regulate here but races will be watched in the replays and any incidents reported or excessive cutting noticed will result in penaltys.

So by only allowing 2 wheels off you still have the AC penalty system enabled that might mess up someones race by giving them unfair penalties...
If possible I would rather allow 4 wheels off and rely on incident reports of other drivers that might caught someone cutting corners on purpose. AC penalty system can be messed up at times...

in the server settings "ALLOWED_TYRES_OUT = 4" and the penalty system is off.  This means we can run off track without a penalty however, when admins watch they adhere to 2 wheels on track at all times, rumble sprips count as the track.

As for the overtaking into the corner, The way i have always scruiteneered race accidents etc is by seeing who had the corner by following this:

Who ever has their front axel infront of the opposing front axel has the right to the corner, if they are side by side then it can be anybodys corner.

what does "right of the corner" mean by your understanding, Chris?

because if it means you can go full F1 and force someone to slow down or go off track, just because you are ahead on the apex, im not with you.

by my understanding it is like this: if the front axle of the following car is on the same height as the rear axel of the leading car BEFORE the usual point of turning in, the following car has obtained right of way through the corner, meaning it is entitled to whatever line it picked (inside, middle or outside) - same goes for the leading car that has to give him this room and stay on his picked line. But both cars have to stay in whatever line they picked until they cleared the overlap of both cars on the exit of a corner.

General rules are here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3349.0)

As Chris says we don't use the AC penalty system, however the general consensus is you must keep 2 wheels on or inside the white line. Curbs tend to be outside the white lines so aren't part of the track.

Anyone is entitled to submit incident reports if they feel other drivers are pushing the boundaries or driving unfairly/badly

wow.. if something goes wrong, everything does.

decent qualifying, was happy to start in 7th.
had a decent start as well, made up a position in the mercedes arena and then had a nice battle for the first laps.

i then noticed that AC was running in the wrong mode (window mode) and gave me bad frame drop spikes, so i had to press Alt+Enter to switch back to normal mode.
i decided to do that on the main straight were there was enough time to do it.. however as i let off my wheel, the bumps on the road made me lose control over the car and i crashed in the left wall.

only lost 2 positions and i carried on to have a great battle until my ping went to 200.. i didnt know what was happening but it was stable for 1,5 laps so i decided to just wait as the lags were not to severe.
All of a sudden the ping rose to +600 and cars went everywhere.. i then found myself crashing and stopping in the gravel.
i really hope that was just me and i didnt hit anybody badly. if so, i am truly sorry for that :(

i found out it was dropbox screwing me over for no reason. out of the blue it created an index and made my internet connection lost for a couple of seconds. i dont quite understand how that works as i have 50k dsl but hey.. who am i to judge.

i am quite let down as this race turned out to be exactly what i expected, namely being an awesome cup race with close pace gaps and nice battles.

i will probably close dropbox for the next race so i wont have to cope with random bs my pc decides to throw at me -.-

cheers guys, hope you all had a blast at least

Was looking to be fun, but I got shoved into a wall in T1, then caught Steven who had also fallen off
but then went off a couple more times so quit.
My biggest prob with AC is the steering, which is odd as MJ has steering trouble in R3E..
The steering is wayyy too insensitive, I have to turn the wheel 180 degrees to get round hairpins
I spent ages trying to get it right for the Cobra event, and failed completely.
Can't really race like that, I am just driving

are you sure its 180 degrees? thats a lot really.. i dont think i turn my wheel more than 90, maybe a little moire on tight corners.

are you sure its setup to 900 degrees in windows and AC?

what wheel have you got?

Maybe not 180, but a lot more than I use for GTL/R3E
I have tried calibrating in windows, changing the setting in AC
and it doesn;t seem to make any difference
The wheel is G25 or G27 depending on where I am
(My house or not) I will have a less rushed attempt tomorrow
at setting it up

What do you guys think about using tyre warmers for this series? I'm fairly ambivalent about them but having all start on pre warmed tyres could help prevent first lap incidents and tippy toe driving. But against that you remove one of the intricacies of racing in tyre management or being more on the pace on cold tyres than others around you.  :-\
But more than happy to use if the general consensus is go for it.

I'm not a fan of introducing tyre warmers and I thought yesterdays start was excellent with 21 cars. I was side by side with you Mark on the run to turn 1, through turn 1 and part of turn 2 where Simon joined us. I prefer the tippy toe driving and bringing tyres up to temperature. Its all part of racing and tyre management.

Anyone else got any nifty vids to showcase the racing? I'm totally happy with 20 odd cars for a Porsche cup series but still handy to show over on Kunos site that the racing is good here for future interest and series where big grids are great.  :)

I still run my ancient G25 - It's been perfect with AC since the very early pre-release days.
Although I do find that using the Logitech gaming software rarely works as intended so I always adjust the global settings when switching between AC/GTL/GPL etc.  :)

So i really enjoy this series, but i have two (minor) issues with it:

1) why are tyre blankets not a thing in this series?
- i always feel like its a pain to do setups if you first have to drive the car around in snail pace until the tyres are warmed up properly.. it doesnt really add anything to me (as in real life they also heat up the tyres first before doing their laps) and it just makes the setup process longer and more annoying.

2) why do we run 20 minute qualify for a race, that is only 30 minute long? i think 10 minute qualifying and 40 minute race would be a better ratio.. arent we here to race, not to hotlap? ;)

anything else is perfect to me :P

Title: Re: UKAC Porsche Cup Series 2017 - Jan 11th start
Post by: Mark J on January 18, 2017, 11:15:22 PM +0000
We discussed tyre blankets after the last round but hardly anyone commented and those that did preferred the skill required to be on the pace even with cold tyres. A genuine skill from the real world of racing.

The races are 30 mins as its a cup car sprint series. We have often used 40 mins before for sprints but you tend to just end up with spread out cars on knackered tyres with hot drivers hoping the race ends soon. 40 is better for GT sprints IMO.
Qually was increased by 5 mins to reduce the frustration of not getting a decent clean lap in with 24 cars. But I'm undecided on whether it's such a good idea and may revert back to 15mins as it makes it more intense  :-\

The management  ;)

Post by: Linus27 on January 18, 2017, 11:58:18 PM +0000
I'm not a fan of the tyre blankets for the exact reason Mark mentions. I don't actually notice that much difference between cold tyres on lap one when they are blue and then when they are warm and turned green. I do notice when the tyres are getting worn out though.

As for race length, Normally I would agree with a sprint being 30 mins but as this series is a spec series and rather popular, I think you could get away with a 40 mins race length. Possibly even 45 mins and a mandatory pit stop. Maybe something to think about for next time.

IMO short qualifying sessions shuffle the grid a little and make things more interesting. If you give drivers too much time to set their best possible lap times, the grid will be sorted purely by general pace of each driver (who wouldve thought) and overtakes get rarer and rarer as driver positions are already sorted out.

Id say you could easily go with 10 minutes of quali and let people cope with that little bit of traffic. If they manage traffic well, they can benefit from it, if you get unlucky you start a few positions back of what you normally would have, but can make up for it in the race.

(btw: in our PGT Series we also had 10 minutes of quali for each class and it was enough to get at least 2-3 fast laps in - and it worked quite well i think)

I kinda agree with shorter quali times. I remeber with the Maserati GT4 series at Core there were only 5 minutes of qualifying. Definitely made it alot more tense since you could do only 2 fast laps, though 10 min would be a good choice too.

Tyre blankets; I like em as they are, makes the first lap abit more tense and makes it sure everyones tiptoeing through T1.

After last nights longer qually I am in agreement, it was too long and will revert to 15 mins. Maybe I'll add 5 mins to the race length  ;)

Incidentally as a couple have asked for it I think we will try the false start procedure. But it needs testing pre race next week if possible so maybe some practise on the server beforehand by letting or skipping the session to 'race'  I don't want any belly aching on the night from people doing jump starts and getting penalised.
Can this start procedure be tested offline too?

yes, jumpstarts can be practice offline too ;)
but this whole procedure is not difficult for anybody. once the lights go on, you can select 1st gear when you want to (if you do that before lights go green you should either have the clutch kicked entirely, or you will move and get the drive-through)

to me it doesnt change a thing in terms of my starting technique as i still just slam in the gear once the lights go green (i dont select it when they are still red). the only change for people is, that you now have to be careful at the start not to spam the upshift and hope for a good timing :D

I'm all for realistic race starts, the previous version has always been crap in AC with the inability to clutch control before green lights.

I assume it's under options somewhere in game?

yeah should be found in the difficulty settings for each race (where you can also set fuel consumption, tyre wear and all these things)

the thing is, that once you selected a gear (before lights go green) you will have to keep the clutch fully pressed in order to not move. however your optimal clutch point is somewhere between 50-60% from my experience. so i just keep the gears in neutral, get my rpms and clutch point right and than smash the gear in once green.

i wouldnt recommend anyone to select gear before green lights :D

I thought they changed it a few versions ago so you no longer can use the clutch at the start with sequential shifters? And that you can't switch them into first gear before the lights turned green aswell  ???

Raced it with the false starts at a few servers, don't notice any differences for me, nor do I use the clutch with these cars anyway  :P
Only problem you had with public servers is ofcourse there is always some guy at the rear driving before the green lights taking out all the sideview mirrors of everyone...... typical public servers  ::)

There are 2 types of sequential box though in AC.
If you take the road going GT3 out you'll find the clutch pedal does nothing - where as in the cup cars you can still actually use the clutch.

Therefore I think with jump starts enabled you should be ablr to select gear before the lights change and sit on the clutch.
Might try it tomorrow afternoon when I get back from work

I wouldn't mind a few extra rounds in these things.

Maybe with a few different tracks, like Paul Ricard or VIR. Don't know if the F1 tracks out there are a decent quality, circuit of the Americas seems quite fun ( saw the Cup race from last year on TV, seemed a pretty good track for these things, though it was quite funny to see how they were completely ignoring track limitations and just going way wide and off track on purpose  8) )

Paul Ricard sounds very good, the real Porsche Supercup calendar also featured Monza, Barcelona and Spa, so maybe one of them can be included as well.

Not sure Paul Ricard is appropriate for cup cars, albeit I like the track. I think i'd rather save that for the gt cars. VIR could be fun in these, but I was trying to keep the rounds as seen in the supercup series, so Monza or Barcelona could get a round. Spa is always great for me in any car but we use it a lot so will give it a miss for this series I think.  Is Circuit of Americas a good mod version? I love the real track but haven't tried the sim version.

I just tried the modded tracks to see how well they fit to the cup cars;

Circuit of the Americas; while the track is great, the quality is bland. Road feels flat, simple texture with no tyre marks or anything. Lots of blind corners and not many braking point references. Would be passable to drive only because the track itself is pretty good  :P

Paul Ricard; Fits the cup cars just fine. Tried the one with the chicane in the long straight but I think the one without would be better. Could make for some great slipstreaming overtakes  ;D

VIR; <---- Definitely pick this one  ;D  Great track for these cars, not much else to say about it  8)

As long as it's not Spa..again  :P

Paul Ricard WTCC Layout works really well for cup cars imo... just had the Cayman cup last tuesday and it was a blast.

But VIR would be my absolute favorite!

I prefer Spa, Barcelona and Mugello. Else Vallelunga together.
But please, do not Paul Ricar )) I hate green-red grid crazy colours in asphalt flat square always flashing in my brain because i am is an old man with psihic ruined ;D
So Mark. How about false start perspective finally?  It brings an additional challenge :)

Im thinking VIR and Monza at present, or maybe VIR and Barcelona, I don't mind either.

Yes false starts will be used from Silverstone on. I still haven't managed to test a start using it yet mind you. Whats the difference in the penalty?, it just says drive-through or pits with no explanation. I understand drive through but is other option you have to stop in your pitbox? I can just see someone getting the hump over this.  :-\

Do you mean after Silverstone or including? The race announcement doesn't say it'll be used. Personally I'm not keen on adding things like this mid season.

All is simple and clear here.
1. Set START_RULE=2 in server_cfg. This is option for jump start penalty- drive through.
2. From now on you  can switch to gear 1 when lights appear on screen ( not before). Don't forget to fully press clutch ! Or do not press gas otherwise! )
3. If you are false started- you will see left conner reminder. 3 laps given to close the penalty ( drive through)
4. During pitlane you can stop on yours pitbox BUT penalty will NOT closed to you. You'll still need to make clear pitline drive through.
5. If you are is not done drive through penalty 3 laps given- you 'll be disqualyfied and will put you in pitbox from track and you will not able to continue the race.
Sorry for my bad English guys  :)
PS / For me all will be good- FStart option  from Silverstone or other GP. Or not at all in this champ  :) But in my leagues we all using this option cause this is more real,  joyfull. As i know- RD leagues uses this too .
BTW and tyre warmers IRL cause warming lap is usually present in such RL races  ;)

Petes right and backs up my own wariness about bringing it in mid series as not everybody reads all the chat on here. I just know one or more drivers will turn up get penalised and get the hump. I would rather we trialled it in a fun race first. I would like us to use it though but best wait unless I splatter it over the following rounds first post/race banner  :-\

this idea will probably get shut down instantly but what about featuring Bathurst too?  ;D

one of the best tracks out there, good quality mod available as well.

we featured it in our GT3 Series last year and the races were a blast. Brutal, but a blast (surprisingly few incidents as well.. i am certain SRou drivers are also capable of managing that track)

how is the ACU version "not very accurate"? it might not be 100% spot on (elbow doesnt appear as steep as irl), but enough to be believable, dont you think?

I completely forgot to add Bathurst to the list. Definitely another top mod ( never driven another version of it so can't say if its better then another )

Did a 2 hour GT2 endurance on it at Core, great fun to drive.

When I'm driving on a new track I like to compare the real times with the times achievable ingame.
For Bathurst the current track record for GT3 cars is set at 2:01.286 (it's even expected that the record will drop further down, maybe even below the 2 minute mark in ten days when the 12h race starts) and I doubt that anybody is able to do similar lap times in AC. Last time i checked the ingame laptimes the fastest guys were somewhere at 2:04, but the latest tire update made the GT3 cars even slower.

Don't get my wrong, of course I belive that I'm driving in Bathurst when loading the acu version, but I think a difference of 4-5 seconds on a 6,213 km long track is "not very accurate".

Title: Re: UKAC Porsche Cup Series 2017 - Jan 11th start
Post by: Brocookie on January 25, 2017, 11:24:51 PM +0000
i kinda disagree here, because yes, the laptimes are inaccurate, but the actual layout of the track, at least the crucial parts (hill section and start finish section) are really accurate if you compare to real life laps.
i believe the different laptimes are mostly down to inaccurate length of the long straights.. and maybe the length of the hill section as well.
but that doesnt mean the track isnt accurate, if all the features that make the track what it is are accurate and it doesnt need much added track to make up for 3-4 seconds.
-Track width
-corner angles
-banking
-elevation changes, steepness of dipper and elbow

and since these features are reasonbly accurate i think its good enough really.

Post by: nfsw55 on January 25, 2017, 11:56:00 PM +0000
You're right, there's no corner which is extremely inaccurate, it's just the overall feeling.
At the best it's just the lenght of the straights or something with the section on top of the hill.

all in all the acu track is still the best Bathurst version available for AC and I would happily join a race there, I'm just a bit nitpicking ;D

Btw: The Iracing version of bathurst is laserscanned, right? curious how good or bad they recreated the track.

@Mark i already did a few laps to check it out before i posted about Bathurst and what can i say? it is absolutely insane :D its so much fun and the Cup Car feels perfect on every section. Much more fun than the GT3 cars imo.

i think i hit 2:11/12 or so

I thought the cup cars might get a bit lost on a big circuit like this but appears the Aussie Porsche cup use it and I just read an article this morning about a supercup driver who is about to race on it in a Porsche cup car, so that settled it in my mind. I wanted to test to make sure this mod version didn't bounce us all over the place with dodgy surfacing.  :P

Post by: Brocookie on January 26, 2017, 01:46:52 PM +0000
well, for most cup cars (thinking of the cayman for instance) it would be the case that the straights would be too long and the cars kinda get lost there.

but the gt3 cup car isnt significantly slower than the gt3 spec cars, so it works just as well :P

surface is fine i think.. the cup car handles bumps very well imo. its funny how you get all shaky in the cockpit when the car bounces over them but it doesnt really lose traction, which is nice :D

It's actually not hard, Dave has created links all over the place to see results/championship standings etc. Where is says Series, near the top of the page, you can click on A2PC and it shows what Mark has linked to. If you click on a race topic, there is a link to the series standings above where the results appear. If you click on your forum profile Dave has added a racing history section where you can see all the events you've taken part in.

btw, what are all the weird abbreviations stand for? A2PC for instance.. PC is Porsche Cup, obviously, but A2?
Each race series needs a code; A will be Assetto Corsa, 2 is Season 2 I'd think. You might argue this is Series 1 of the Porsche Cup but these aren't a science ;)

it's actually not hard.

while this may make sense to all of you who have been here for ages, it really is incredibly difficult to figure this website out for newcomers.

what is the "code" used for btw? i mean, what do you need this simple code for.. if its just an abbreviation for every user to navigate to the specific series, it might be worth a rethinking, making it more obvious what this specific link links to.
If its just for you admins, it might be worth to hide it smh or create a "standings" button or what not.

When it comes to user friendliness, you have to think of your "customers" as the most stupid morons possible :D

just some feedback from my side

I disagree actually, I think it's pretty easy to navigate around this site, mainly because it's a bit boring and functional compared to most racing sites  ;D
When I go on acrl etc I get properly lost trying to find race threads/passwords  etc.
Core have a fairly nice site, nice layout etc I just don't like the cars they choose for racing.

Anyway you will be pleased to know that the Porsche series standings link now appears at the foot of each new Race thread 1st post

yeah, CORE are top notch in that regard.. i have the same problem as you do tho, they just dont run series i am interested in.

and the ACRL page isnt user friendly as well :D so not really a benchmark here haha

The thing is, while this website is highly functional, you kinda get thrown all the information at you at once and its overwhelming for newcomers. Especially as you run on multiple platforms, it is even more of a challenge to make things nice and tidy.
To me it was super confusing when visitin the website the first times in summer, to even find the community navigation page, to find the AC section. The "Start here" landing page doesnt really help you out at first glance.

If i may give an easy solution to that:
You could just have links to each subcommunity (each game) on the landing page, people can click on and get redirected to the specific section only.

--> I visit Simracing.org.uk and see the landing page with the Names of all the Games you are hosting, i click on AC as this is the game i am interested in and then get directed to UKAC

Everyone still happy with damage at 50% ? I was a bit put out to see a couple of cars have major contacts with walls or other cars yet still be able to out drag and handle as well as pristine cars in the Hockenheim round  :-\
Made me think we've got it a bit too 'arcadey' . We lowered it to prevent over-damage initially but maybe it's too low to punish bad mistakes.

It does feel like they changed the impact of damage quite abit. Had dark yellow damage front, left and rear. Managed a time only 2/10 of a sec from my personal best on Hockenheim.

Not sure if its just these cars or if its every car.

Title: Re: UKAC Porsche Cup Series 2017 - Jan 11th start
Post by: Brocookie on February 11, 2017, 09:35:47 PM +0000
i am completely happy with lowered damage.. in the end we are here for racing, not parking your car because of a contact with a wall or something.

you will be punished by losing huge amounts of time during the incident anyways, no need to find yourself 1-3 seconds off pace and with no chance of get in any battle again.
people would be more likely to quit after contact, instead of keeping the car on track and fight their way up. (no chance i couldve been competitive at hockenheim with the major incident in Lap 1 and 2.. i wouldve been forced to quit and be highly frustrated)

please leave 50% for future races/series, its a great compromise

I'm going to increase it, it's not right that a heavily smashed up car can continue with no penalty to speed or handling  at all. I started a thread over on Kunos about damage and the consensus is that they considerably remodelled the damage in the last updates. This isn't arcade racing so if you bend it you should be prepared for a consequence. But I won't go the full 100% (as now recommended) until we can run a few fun races with it.
Will go 70% for now I think.

I don't mind more damge. The only reason we decreased it last time was because of the huge difference a tiny tap would make. These cup cars are almost the same as the GT3 cars. And I remember any damage at all and you would lose 5-10 km/h top speed.

I'm glad they finally fixed that. Though I'm curious now how 100% would feel.

Imola will be set to 70% damage and we will see how it goes.

Patch v1.12 is coming later today, so the server probably also needs an update then.
Some interesting changes to the game (finally timed races, hell yeah) and also to the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup:

Featuring all-new FREE bonus content, including the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2, as well as our home made Highlands track! The perfect track doesn’t exist. That’s why we created one.

AUDI QUATTRO S1 E2
Introduced back in 1984, the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 revolutionized rallying. Just like the other manufacturers, Audi used the lenient homologation requirements to create a new rally car. All the car maker needed for homologation was a production run of a mere 200 cars.
Blomqvist's spectacular, sideways driving style suited the Sport quattro perfectly. By flicking the tail out, the Swede overcame the natural understeer of the nose-heavy Audi. He won five of the twelve rounds and was crowned the 1984 World Champion. Mikkola and Roehrl also won a round, which was enough to clinch the constructor's trophy.

HIGHLANDS LAYOUTS
The perfect track doesn’t exist.
That’s why we created one.

Highlands - The original layout, 8152 meters long, filled with fast flowing path with curves and several jumps.

Highlands Long - An extension of the original layout, 12191 meters long and has all the characteristics of the original layout. This layout features some slower curves, a fast series of left and right turns, after a passage between rocks and the distinctive 3km long "Cabhag straight"

Highlands Drift - A configuration born to create long powerslides with supercars and hypercars. At 5167 meters long, this layout features long, flat and smooth curves, perfect for holding a constant power slide. The "tower lùb", guards the surroundings at the top of the hill.

Highlands Short - The shortest configuration, only 1714 meters, but based entirely inside the city. Incredibly intense and requires the concentration of a pro.

All four layouts share the same starting positions and pit lane, as well as the first corner and final 2 corners.

FIXES INCLUDE

* Improved and updated cars handling and chassis balance and inertia for all cars available
* Brake fade for all vintage cars

Okay, after thInking out loud earlier and receiving positive feedback, how do you guys feel about extending the Porsche cup by another two more rounds, making it a proper 10 round championship?
It's popular, provides great racing and grids are busy enough to warrant it. But I would ideally like approval of the top 3 drivers in the series as they might feel they have done enough to finish in their top 3 positions, albeit with two rounds still remaining, with shark also knocking on their door in the points  :-* They might feel I keep pushing the goalposts wider  ;D
The last two rounds would be Monza And Spa  :)

It may be you guys have had enough Pork action but feel free to shout up here yay or nay.
I am happy to do it , because I am l Loving the action in this series 8) but if you want something different then cool with that too, but expect a drop off when we revert to some one off fun races.

Go for it Mark  ;)
It's such a good series with a great grid size, so extending the championship to 10 rounds would be very appreciated

Okay I think it's reasonably safe to say I will extend the series by 2 more rounds. The winner of this 10 round blast will have earned his laurels  :notworthy:

But it will be Monza then Spa as the Ardennes is my Mecca   8)

Speaking out of turn, it's MJ's series, but I can't see any reason why you can't join the last couple of races. We will need to know you Steam GUID so we can add you to the driver's file. Also if there is a specific skin you want to use we can accommodate that, although we'd prefer it if you selected one know one else is using. There's a list in the 1st post of this topic.

Welcome to our corner of the sim racing world :)
