Slight feux pas in that Pete found Zandvoort only had 18 pitboxes  :P but fear not as I found this link:-

http://www.mediafire.com/file/f2tcjgg5qlenn6t/Zandvoort_32pits_AC1.7.rar

Petes going to install the new version to the server and hopefully someone can test it today (I'm at work  :'( )

I'm getting the wrong password message when entering the server with the common practice password.

The new track version seems to be working fine though, 30 pits and no "server contains unavailable content" message for me.

Might still give you a checksum error after it's loaded though. I've put a password on and sent MJ some files so he can test it and confirm the files needed. This is all a bit new to me and the tracks aren't 100% AC compliant so don't work properly with AcServerManager. I've cobbled something that's worked for me but I was hoping MJ would prove it.

I'll take the password off but you will probably still get errors.

i get an "unavailable content" message. Offline works for me though

It shows - ks_zandvoort\ks_zandvoort_osrw on server side. My dir says ks_zandvoort\zandvoort_osrw. maybe it did not merge correct?

That naming difference is one of the things that's changed with different versions of the osrw tracks. I think the one on the server is an older version. It'll be tomorrow morning now before I can get a decent window of time time play. Eck's pointed me in the direction of further instructions to go read so I'll attempt to get the newer one working.

Server is now running V1.7 of the OSRW Zanvoort Circuit with 32 pit boxes. You will have to download and install the track in order to be able to connect with the server and thus race on Wednesday.

All the OSRW tracks can be found from the thread on the Official Assetto Corsa Forum (http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/kunos-tracks-with-extra-pit-boxes-1-7.28132/)

I urge you all to download and test this as soon as possible, once the server is launched on Wednesday I will be practising and unable to help :P

Very good lesson, thanks Mark! But as we can see- Zandvoort is not laserscan  in AC and much more bumpy , our Porsche's needs softer exclusive dampers!  ;D

the bumps here make me dizzy!  :P really notice them in the cup car.  I just pounded around for 30 odd laps and still 1.4 off of Maikels time  :'( no matter what ARB combo's I tried, very frustrating. Thing Is I watch the alien laps in action and they don't look faster in any particular corner yet hey presto..soo much faster laptime  :o its voodoo  ;D

Still, I'm 3rd on the lap table so far  ;)

I am thinking of adding 5 minutes to qualifying and reducing practise by 5mins. With a grid of 24 cars it's going to be very hard to find a clear lap and where you qualify can make a big difference to your race when all in equal machinery, especially on narrower tracks like this. Any objection?

And partly due to this but also due to the mix of drivers we have, can people be clear if they are on a timed attempt or not by staying clear and giving room to others coming up behind. Its a twisty track its going to be easy to either catch or have someone come out of the pits right behind you right when you don't want the distraction.

Its just I've had in the past faster drivers come out of the pits, fully on it then are stuck to my bootlid all lap as they hadn't discovered the brake pedal slows you down, which then ruins my lap. Just trying to help give everyone a chance

Yes witnessed that myself before. Also, from now on during qualifying, We can put headlights on when on a hot lap,  that helps driver ahead see you coming in their mirrors and can move over appropriately.  :)

I thought I'd tried stiffer ARBs. Given I've knocked about .4 off my potential FL despite running race fuel I obviously hadn't!

You have a skin assigned to you Apex. I don't believe before the event though that they are enforced, so you join in the first default skin on a list. When the server gets restarted tonight then I believe it will automatically load the skin choice when you join the server.

As Spanner says. I assigned you a skin as you were late to the party. When you join the server tonight that skin should get assigned to you each race. Practise server is random though. As you are now on the driver entry file you can join anytime upto the race.

Erm for the poor reason that we still haven't got around to testing it here for online races yet  :-[ I haven't even competed in a race that uses it yet either  :-\
Will look into it.

To Jeff, why aren't you competing in this Jeff? Thought a packed grid with several fast drivers would be up your street.  ???

Because it's another car that suffers from downshift protection ebola and I never liked these bouncy castles, even back in rF when they were a mod. Just dumb cars IMO.

Yes SRW. The ZIP had the actual folder structure in it starting with the content folder so it should have just been a case of unzipping it to there.

Sorry guys . I was too agressive today. I tryied to take points after pit... :'(
Soo slippery track this round- it was big surprize for me - lost control over the car after T1...
Sometimes in races i feel it.. Maybe ping maybe someone else relative to AC.

Again an intense race, eventhough Zandvoort is probably my least favorite track  ;D

Right from the start I was side by side with Jeffrey in T1, then T2, continuing through T3 and then through the bumpy uphill( updune  ??? ) part where we almost made it out unscathed. First time I got bumped off track by him ( if you don't like these cars though, don't take it out on me ... jk  :P, I knew that was a recipe for disaster but refused to back out of it  ;D )
Newer damage model seem to working alot better since I wasn't really noticing it much, got behind Thomas after that on third. Pain in the ass to overtake on this track though, unless you get a better exit out of the last turns. Managed to sneak by after a close fight that lasted about 8 laps or so, pretty intense.
Unfortanely Jeffrey had about a 4,5 second lead so I spent the remainder trying to close it, but that was just too much of a gap.

Bring on Silverstone  8)

I think AC has a randomizer - not sure if that's a server setting or not but would explain the not always consistent grip online.

I had a surprisingly good race seeing as how I ran slightly wide into T1 on the 1st lap and then got fully escorted off by someone else having their own accident!
Rejoined dead last only to climb back up a few immediately after the carnage between T1 & 2.

Was just a case of pushing hard and staying tidy to the finish then and mopping up any other fallers.
I recon I might have got Jonzo too had we had another 5 laps or so :D  :P

Well what a race. Qualified an amazing 6th, again, going quicker than I have ever gone before. Made an average start and held station behind Alexis through the inside line of turn 1. On the exit he got a tank slapper as did I (diesel spill???) but I managed to catch mine but unfortunately Alexis didn't. I braked and had to swerve to avoid contact but got tagged by his rear which spun me around. This then blocked the track and others then got tagged.

I was then last but one and set about catching the pack. Made a lovely pass on Mark E going into turn 1 and then an amazing pass on Picnic going into Marlborobocht. After that it was a case of just chasing FMG for 17 laps. Despite driving out of my skin, the gap stayed around 3 seconds and I eventually came home in 8th.

Enjoyed it despite the turn 1 spin.

this was kinda schrödingers race for me.

it was superb and bad at the same time. the first 9 laps were strictly intense: i had a surprisingly good start, gaining 7 (!) spots in the first lap (i think the first corner as well) and saw myself on P6 behind Simon and Luca. i tried to attack Simon immediatly, but he defended well and since then i just couldnt get anywhere near him anymore. we all had a stable gap to each other of about 0,5-1 seconds and went on like that for the next laps.

I didnt really feel comfortable in my car even tho i had little to no issues in practice the other day. (i really should stop only showing up for a quick qualify run but warm up properly in the pre-quali practice session)... anyways, as i had to push very hard to keep up with luca and simon i made a mistake into the Hairpin, spinning my car around and loosing 2-3 spots. But due to the little donut i had to make, my rear tyres were super hot which led to another 2 spins, making me lose over 40 seconds in just one lap.. gg Denis. gg

i then saw myself at the very back of the field and tried to make up for as many positions as possible. I had Chris (i believe it was) in front of me, had the better pace but as it was very hard to overtake at this track i was kinda stuck. So i tried to force an overtake in the second last corner as i tried to squeeze through on the inside. I dont think it was a divebomb but looking at the replay i wasnt as much on his side as i thought i would be in the race. Anyways, could have probably left more space but it was my fault nevertheless....

i also want to apologize for not waiting for you, chris.. normally i do that when i know i made a mistake, but in the race i thought you turned into me.
after watching the replay i know i should have at least waited for you, sorry

anyways, fun circuit for these cars, but very demanding for sure.
lets see what silverstone brings us :)

i love this series, did i mention that already? ;)

Another tough intense round of racing. This bumpy undulating circuit is a tough one in these cars. I felt knackered after 10 laps!

Qually seemed long with the extra 5 mins  :-\ what did you guys think? It did make it a little less rushed which is good but removes a bit of intensity. Took me a few laps to bag a good time but everyone else was doing likewise. I held 9th to the dying seconds only to be pipped by Simon  ::)

Starting 10th I had a decent enough start but Denis still flew past! Then on run up to t2 two cars ahead seemed to take to the grass/sand and as one spun I just slipped through the gap. I guess the spinner caused a traffic jam behind ? As had clear mirrors for quite a while while I chased the cars ahead very hard for 10 laps. Then I got cramp in my right foot on the t3 hairpin and clumped the barrier softly losing 2 secs and that was enough to lose sight of most of the group ahead.
I did gain one more place when Denis had a spin at the last chicane, gratefully taken  :)
On lap 16 I got the low fuel warning light and that made me a bit panicky and I started short shifting but seems I had enough...phew.
Finished 7th.

Hope everyone had great racing, shame the early spinner broke the grid in two or I think there would have been even more frantic action.
Congrats to Jeff on the win and the podium finishers.

We move to the far smoother and wider Silverstone for round 3  :thumbup2:

Again an intense race, eventhough Zandvoort is probably my least favorite track  ;D

Right from the start I was side by side with Jeffrey in T1, then T2, continuing through T3 and then through the bumpy uphill( updune  ??? ) part where we almost made it out unscathed. First time I got bumped off track by him ( if you don't like these cars though, don't take it out on me ... jk  :P, I knew that was a recipe for disaster but refused to back out of it  ;D )

I was actually all the way on the outside of the turn, giving you the space, but ran out of road and hit the curb on the outside, which made the car bounce to the inside. I didn't even feel any contatc, and when I saw you were only 1,5 second behind me, I thought you backed out of the move, but on the replay it looks terrible  :-\.

Only did this race because I was still on the list and I don't like a DNF, but you can remove me from the entry list now.

You sure Jeff? You might want to try them on another circuit first as Zandvoorts bumps didn't showcase their handling too well. Even Simon and Lotus Michael are smitten  ;D

That was great fun. I was very cautious on 1st lap not attempting to overtake when I could have and with others getting involved I was up to 5th before long, so it paid off for sure (not getting involved). I tailed 4th and 3rd for most of the race but with about 5 laps to go it was clear I wasn't really in the fight for 3rd after all and just cruised safely to the finish. Before that it was on the limit the whole way (which was definitely the most enjoyable way to drive these cars around Zandvoort). These cars are surprisingly good fun to drive, something I never expected and definitely the most fun Porsche I've ever driven. :P

Thanks for hosting.

Jeffery you make me smile. Who else could win the race and still go off in a huff. We need this kind of entertainment to keep the TV cameras watching. :P  :-*

I think I got everyone in...  ;D

Great photo  8) at least 4 cars taking a very wide line into T1  and who's that bringing up the rear? How are you so far back before the very short run to t1?

Incidentally as a couple have asked for it I think we will try the false start gizmo. But it needs testing pre race if possible.

Lotus Michael - awesome  ;D

Loving these cars and I didn't actually find Zandy that bumpy. These cars are great :)

That was me  :-[ I lost 4 places (would have been more except there was no one left to overtake me) on the run down to T1. I think I need to practice my starts. However I gained all those places back because of the shenanigans between T1 and T2!

this was kinda schrödingers race for me.

it was superb and bad at the same time. the first 9 laps were strictly intense: i had a surprisingly good start, gaining 7 (!) spots in the first lap (i think the first corner as well) and saw myself on P6 behind Simon and Luca. i tried to attack Simon immediatly, but he defended well and since then i just couldnt get anywhere near him anymore. we all had a stable gap to each other of about 0,5-1 seconds and went on like that for the next laps.

I can't deny that i was a bit peeved but your apology is accepted. I appreciate the frustration that you faster guys have when you come up behind slower drivers, you obviously want to push on. I myself found that I was being held back sometime during the race but didn't want to push to the point where contact was going to happen. Denis the irony is that you were so close to me in sector 3 that you would have almost certainly had a faster exit onto the pit straight and would have out dragged me into T1.

this is normally not my style at all, i am usually a patient driver and try to avoid stupid moves like that at all cost. But my muck up that brought me to the back of the grid kinda made me lose my patience too early and i will have to learn from that.

you are definitely right, that i wouldve probably gotten you into T1 which emphasizes the bad move by me even more.

lessons learned, glad you accepted the apology

Yes patience is the keyword and something the faster drivers often lack  ;). We have a wide spread of pace here so all should pick your fights and your passes wisely on track, especially when in spec racing like this.

:o  6 laps it took me to overtake Thomas ( great defensive driving btw  :P ), I didn't even know I had that much patience  ;D

That was how I dropped to last in T1  :D

Had to go wide as I had someone on the inside - Thought I'd be cleaver and repeat the maneuvers I was performing in the Trackday race a few weeks back in my RX7, and tried to drift around the outside to overcome the cold tires.
The fronts didn't hook up though so I just ended up in the kitty litter!  :censored:
