Handicapping
All drivers do not have to stick with the same chassis for every race.  They can use the same chassis or a different one for each race as they see fit...but :

Drivers have a free chassis choice for the first race then handicapping defined by the moderation for the leaders.

There is no red zone for this championship. Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents do carry an extra 1 place penalty.

Only reported incidents will be moderated.

If you would like to enter this series please submit an entry in the poll.

Silly question, is this a combined grid so no Ams division?

Is not possible to change Moulinsart? We have so many good real track!
The other doubt is to race against strong pilots,I would have preferred pilots at the same level.

Mike, this is largely dependent on how many drivers sign up. Based on last seasons attendance we will probably run one grid. We have the same issue with the 67 F1, although that tends to attract a few more. For now the 65s & 67s have one registration. The divisional moderator will make a final decision before the first race.

Billy - I would enter 65ams if I could see the poll thread  :)

I'll close the door quietly as I leave the pro area again.

Cheers,
Dave.

Fran

Another driver told me he really wanted to race on Moulinsart.
Maybe another season, we will have to create a poll for wished tracks !

From my PoV, I raced in Moulinsart several times (with F1legends league) and it's a nice track.

About racing against stronger drivers, if we have more than 18 drivers we will certainly have two series.
Again my PoV (sorry) :  I prefer to race against stronger drivers than to race with only 5 or 6 pilots on the server.

P.S:someone know wat happen to SRMZ and repository? The situation seem serious, are days that is impossible to have an access.

Dave, if you want to drive 65 cars please vote in this poll. There is no separate Ams poll. If we get enough entries we can look at splitting the series. If that does not work out you can skulk at the back of the grid with me. With Pro settings there are often multiple retirements & you can finish higher than you might expect. At most circuits you will only be 2 or 3 seconds  a lap off the pole time.

If there is only one server, it will be with damage = pro !?
From my point of view, it's a good thing for slow but safe driver...
But not sure, all amateurs will appreciate this damages = Pro !

Maybe the Professionals Trophy name is not accurate description for a series that includes Amateur drivers. How about Pro-Am? Probably too late to change now. I am forever thankful to all the organizers!

I am hoping to see a good turnout of Amateur drivers. Besides, the grid will look better with the likes of BRM, Ferrari, Lotus and Brabham.

I'm always happy about a second chance, especially because it's not alway your fault that a wheel or the engine is missing before the chequered flag.
But I also aprecciate a full grid so lets try.
We may drive a little less risk then, altough we want to push harder when we see the "pro" times. will be a mental fight !  ::)

Rog - a separate Ams server would be more fun for you & me but I don't think there will be enough support. There will still be a few Ams drivers so don't worry too much. It makes their drive more interesting having to lap us. Also Pro settings means careful drivers get more points.

Yes, roger stay with us for a try. I will surely mess up some time while you see the flag.
More drivers, mor fun.

Don't mean to hassle the admins but when might we know of our pro/am classification?
I don't have much seat time, or miles in the 3 pro chassis, so would appreciate some time to prepare.

cheers :)

At this moment, we don't know if there will be 1 or 2 separate grids (1 or 2 servers)
We are 16 drivers full time and 8 drivers less than 75%.

If there will be 1 grid, you will be among the pros so you could only drive Cooper, BT7 or Honda.

Hi guys,
as I wrote in the 67 Graduates thread... the most of my rig issues are solved, so I'm back!
I just registered for Amateurs.
See you all on track.
Cheers

fL

BTW
I'm a right foot braker since some weeks, that means I'll be really slower than in the past...

Rule changes already, now there is a surprise ::)

As an outsider to the admin team,  even I'm assuming this is due to the fact that there was sufficient take-up to run both a pro & ams series & therefore the big-boys are free to squabble among themselves without us slower-types [although it still looks like a hard bunch from where I'm sitting!] getting in the way.
The other effect of split grids is then presumably no need for pro chassis [seeing as there won't be any non-pro runners].  Also because there have not been any races yet, nobody is actually leading the series so far - so no need for any chassis limitations for the leaders.

Hopefully this helps in a small way [& hopefully is correct;  but I'll qualify this with I'm not qualified to answer!]

I'll also sign off with a ::)  so we're all good  :)

Cheers,
Dave.

Dave,
Exactly.
Last season's 65 series had two grids but one would have been sufficient on most race days. Generally I think most drivers prefer larger grids. Lapping cars (or being lapped) adds another dimension.
Right up until very late the number of registrations only justified one grid. 24/25 registrations means that some people could miss a drive, so we introduced a second grid.
Obviously a handicap system needed to be amended.
The mod team have worked hard to organise this season, with the aim of making racing as inclusive & exciting for the whole membership.
