The downshift protection is most noticeable at this track, can't say i like it nannying over my downshifts in hard braking zones. I was getting frustrated missing the apex because of it. Mind you I was blinking tired after a tough week of work  :(

Wake up, people!
What do you think about Monza?  ;D
Why we have 3 different owners of best sectors here?
What wing are you using? I am at 4  :P
And yes- downshift protection is point here- need to be in pilot's brain during the whole race. ;)

I'm using 3. Keeps the car nice and slidey through the corners  ;D

I usually thought Monza was a boring track but most of the races I've had here were intense. First corner gonna be tricky though.

I was thinking earlier this round seems to have generated the least amount of 'radio chatter'. Obviously everyone is quietly confident  ;) ;D

I haven't done a lap since last week  :( will jump on the server in a while.

I love Monza, its proper old school fast and not as simple as it looks. Proposed to my wife on Schueys grid slot after the F1 race in 2005. Looking forward to thiz race the most.

haha you old romantic Michael  ;D thought I was bad enough when I took my wife to the Le Mans museum on her birthday (as we were conveniently passing by it that day  ;)   )

glad I got some laps in, improved by 1.1 secs  :) was too tired to do many though. (edit...hey I'm only 1.6 behind the pole sitter  :o , you guys must be slacking  )

Going to be very tricky for 2 laps on cold tyres here, so utter caution on lap1. If you have brain as well as brake fade, take to the slip road but no jumping ahead of the pack, you will have to slot back in near where you were.

Hehehe well I'm surprised she said yes as my driver (Montoya) got pole, won the race and lapped Schuey :)

I think this race will be incredibly close, especially as the front runners are slacking :) C'mon chaps, pull ya fingers out or I might consider winning the race lol

Too much racing on my hands. The Porsche cup just started last sunday over at Core and there are three Scottish guys who are quicker then me. Got a interleague race this sunday between Core and Sloracing as a 2.4 hour race at Lemans with the 919 amd GT2's.  ;D

Enjoyed the Core race the other day, super fast pace and those Scottish guys are way to quick. Looking forward to tonight even though Maikel is over half a second faster. I managed a 1:51.6 with nothing left in the tank. I seem to be constantly losing all the time in the braking zone but as of yet have no answer.

Remember all - If in any doubt - Just brake early!! Any late braking banzai heroics is just going to result in contact or you bouncing over the big kerbs into a spin. Let the guy ahead outbrake himself then you can nip through at the chicane  ;) Easier said than done I know, in the heat of battle.

Yes, Sir! Surely Sir!  :punk:
My tactic : I will do my first light braking attempt at 200m marker. If guys around me is adequate- we are all going throught chicane at speed 20-30-40km\h. Each guy follows his trackside in chicane.
If no- and if i am in left side- i doing to mass cut whole chicane with a clear conscience . May be i'll return position to leader  ;D
If i am on the right side - i dont know what to do . May be use  :tank: ,helicopter ,  :boat: or meditation  ;D

Unlucky race for me. Sometimes in official race sessions i have very slippery track. I Dont know why. May be my ping and amount of pilots on track depends. FFB going less and softer too..
So, I had a lucky start  and up to 3 pos in 1st or 2nd lap. It was small battle ( as usuaaly)  ;D  with Michael Boylan. Thanks!
But 2 hits the wall ruined my race..
AAAAnd... ;) Mark. Sorry but why it was 16 laps race? Official 1st post ( and my prerace prac ) was 15...
Only in  half race gone i see my fuel deficite via indicators red! ;) And begun  "save fuel procedure".. I know- it's my own problem, but please be more accurate  here- if any changes- please TYPE in chat before the race . And in the forum please.  :)
Congratulations to podium! Thans guys for the race!
See you all in Spa! :)

Hi guys, a right mess at the first corner, easily done at this track. Luckily I picked my through the carnage and got away with Simon. Kept on getting away then making a mistake and then getting caught up again. Thought NFSW was going to catch us both with much better pace but Simon did a sterling job in holding his progress. Managed to get to the finish..... Just! Thanks guys, it was fun

Pretty much a race to forget  :P

Had a pretty good start up on nfsw inside, never saw that car coming at us at T1. Came out last with the car pretty busted, right side showed red damage, frontglass broken. Thought I have some fights in the rear with a handicapped car but the driving felt really bad. Braking went from "standing still 20 meters before a turn" to "flying completely wide into a corner". Also had some huge loss of top speed which made for a few interesting fights, but decided to pit after 12 laps or so to stop me from causing anymore damage.

Oh well, still enough points to be 1st in the championship  ;D

What a great race and an incredible result. Qualified 6th which I was very happy with. Made a great start and just held position on the outside but saw a car fly across the pack at turn 1 which caused a bit of a mess. Came out in 3rd and set about chasing Simon and Thomas. It wasn't long before Alexey and I had our usual race battle but he was too quick and dropped me to 4th. A few laps later and NFSW came past dropping me to 5th. I was able to hold FMG back and then came across spinning Alexey which put me back up to 4th. Kept my head down and ended up finishing 4th.

So love Monza, I always have grest races here and watching the replay is epic, the cars look amazing.

AAAAnd... ;) Mark. Sorry but why it was 16 laps race? Official 1st post ( and my prerace prac ) was 15...

Baikal = 1st post has said 16 for as long as I've noticed. It shows as last edited on Friday last week so I wouldn't exactly call it changed at the last minute ;)

My race went well as I managed to stop myself from trying too hard at the beginning finally (My achilles heel for most rounds of this series!) so didn't spin  ;D
5th as a result

I jumped Pete on the grid and decided to steal his position into T1, as that may have allowed me to get up alongside the car in front when the field bunched.
Instead I was greeted with a view of carnage so dropped right back in order to gain some manoeuvring space all around so I could try to avoid being involved.
Looks like I had harder contact with Stefan than I thought while giving the 2 spinners some room - sorry Stefan, glad I managed to accidentally punt you straight again as well.  :)

Well that race effectively ended my great 3 way championship battle with FMG and Linus for 5th  :'(
Couldn't believe the bad luck I was getting with spinners or contacts in front of me forcing avoiding action :surrender: must admit I also got myself spat off on one occasion  :-[ on an exit out of the 2nd chicane when as high as 7th I think.

My best lap in qually was ruined by a car spinning at Parabolica in front of me...just wasn't to be tonight  :(

I was pretty annoyed to see a car spearing across the t1 chicane from the back of the pack after several of us had mentioned don't go mad on cold tyres  ::) I don't know who it took out but it caused chaos and split the pack up way too soon.
Had some good chases for next few laps until my spin cost me 4-5 places and I dropped to 12th and lost a lot of time. Was joined by Maikel and the pair of us started to claw our way back up the grid until several Laps later when all our hard work was undone by Les losing it at Parabolica. I had to take to the gravel hard left to miss his car and lost about 4 places all over again  :taz:
Then had a great battle with Apex that lasted a few laps and took some brave braking to stay ahead, enjoyed that!
Also had to give up two spots when I outbrKed myself at lesmos to Pete and Eck, just one of those nights  ::)
Finished a crap 11th and now 7&10pts behind my season long rivals with only Spa remaining.

Congrats to Thomas on the win, that sets you up for great final race v Nfsw  :) with Shark stalking behind.

Maikel I do believe is the Porsche cup Series champion with a round to go  :notworthy: :thumbup1:

Sorry to hear you lost out Mark... I got rear ended, finished up in the barriers and got going again in 15th place after running 9th or 10th I think. Then later on I had to take evasive action to miss a rejoining car and rear ended someone else.

Ahh, once again not the race I hoped for  :(

The evening started great with pole position, start was ok, Maikel and me went side by side into turn 1 when suddenly a car went straight across the chicane and slammed into both of us.
Rejoined the race in P10 with a significantly damaged car. Began to climb up the order again, started the last lap of the race in P3, just behind Simon, but wasn't able to overtake him. In the end Thomas, Simon and me were just seperated by less than one second, sadly we are only doing 30 minute races here ;D

That was me on both times  ;D

Was even going off the throttle before the braking zone as I wasn't faster even with slipstreaming. But the brakes were just not in the mood for it.

Same a few laps later I hit Apex. Was right behind in a corner where he went abit slower then I anticapated and just nudged him. Thought I wait that one out on the grass and the you had to evade him and ran into me  :P
Thought it best to drive back to the pits and watch the race from there. Was abit "Murphys Law" tonight for me  ;D

Payback! At last!  ;)

That's been the story of my championship... I qualify near the back, make a good start, avoid the chaos at the first corner, make up some places, get swiped off the track, rejoin at the back, finish pretty much where I started...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSNa0bcvfbo

dude.. spinning out at this spot in that fashion has nothing to do with how much wing you run, as its not aerodynamic oversteer that got you into that slide.

you just clipped the very slippery curb with a high amount of load on the outside tyres, causing the left rear to lose traction and slip away.
happens 11/10 times when attacking the corner like that.

you shouldve taken the corner with a more straight exit, getting all the rotation done before the exit and then touch the outside curbs in a line that puts only little stress on the outside tyres to prevent said situation.

It was rather a rhetorical question  :) In overall i lost my rear axle yet before touching curb ( see blue bar under Gears app). But i agree - i must to be less aggresive it this place due Kunos limitations  ;D

What mod is that with those blue bars and the dots on the RPM counter? I guess that's torque range?
And bottom right is damage shown in numbers?

It's my "Baikal HUD" not published complex app. Still in 3 years progress, improves when needed  :) . Blue bars- it's car "axle going out of control" indication based on slip angle\ slip rate AC tyres shared memory parameters. Colored squares and rounds-  slip and braking parameters of each tyre. And yes- i have damage numbered app ( built in).
I can share simplificated numbered damade indicator app for you and others . It's other authors app and dont have voice support when damage changed but working fine and clear.  :)

Yes  :) Such indicators need to be used and analize only in setup building route when watching a live cockpit video or especially in some turns.  In race and resulting hotlap i am not see it )))  Sometimes in race  am not see such app like helicorsa ( though this app placed direct insight of my screen) ;D

Jeff, i am not planning to release Baikal HUD app. It's screen resolution  dependable app and i am use only full HD single monitor ( 37"TV) In addition- app have so many futures needs by me and not needs by others pilots.  :) It was ( and continues) a good hobby to learn python and making what i am want's with app\apps and Kunos API :)
