Season 31 Historic Trophy – Round 5 - Parco Sempione

Welcome to the fifth round of the Historic Trophy at Parco Sempione.  Parco Sempione ("Simplon Park") is a large city park in Milan. The park was established in 1888 but the circuit dates from 1937 when the likes of Nuvolari, Rudolf Caracciola and Bernd Rosemeyer drove outrageous cars like the Mercedes-Benz W125 and Auto Union Type C.  A very tight track characteristic of the early days of motor sport, public roads and virtually no concept of safety precautions.

This race is for cars with 2 Litre engines.

Only reported incidents will be moderated, there is no Red Zone.

The traditional Historics handicapping system will be used for this season with the drivers leading the championship being limited to the slower chassis.

Drivers limited to the Group I cars (T1F Eagle Climax or Lotus 33 Climax) are:

Drivers limited to the Group I or Group II cars (T1F Eagle Climax, Lotus 33 Climax, Brabham BT11 2.5lt or Lotus 33 BRM) are:
Lalethor and Doni Yourth

All other drivers have a free choice.

GPL crashed to the desktop when I tried to enter the car for the start. :(

I'm start for race with qualy setup, too oversteer and low fuel..

A little wide at T1 while in 2nd at 12 lap on those haybales with glue and that was it.  :(

This circuit is extremely unforgiving that's for sure! The field was a bit thin starting out with only 10 runners, but that quickly halved in the space of a couple laps.

I inherited the lead after Alessandro's unfortunate demise and did my best to throw it away on a few occasions with silly errors. Just about managed to get away with them all with all four wheels attached. Then about 8 laps from the end the server threw out me, Dean, Andy & Dave, the remaining runners.

Unfortunate to have the race cut short, but with over 75% distance completed I'd be surprised if a re-run needs to be organised. Congrats to all finishers and commiserations to those that suffered discos/retirements. See you all at the next one, hopefully with a fuller grid  :).

I was unable to join the race, even via IP??  I tried several times but just would not allow me in??

Really unforgiving track...i had a good start, then Dean tried to overtake me in final corner.
I think, you were to fast and slided into me. well, happens. I flipped over the hayballs and came back on all wheels. After 30 seconds i found my way out of the forrest and continued. Next hayballs i hit where quit hard, i lost my left front wheel.

I've learned that when someone's inside you on an understeery corner, usually the best plan is to just back off.
