1st post edited to a sprint round. I couldn't see my own calendar earlier thanks to photobucket deciding to change their hosting rules this far down the line  ::) and I have replaced the image links as they disappeared too  >:(

The last round at Barcelona will be a fitting end with an endurance.   :)  This will be a frantic sprint  ;)

Are the grip levels lower on the SRou server? Times are a lot slower than they were at the CORE race.

Just joined our server and it says 100% track grip, maybe different temperatures?

I'm in. Please can I switch to the Porsche as I'm racing it at Core and I'm fed up with the AMG which I can not for the life of me get to grips with on setup. Don't care what skin, I can't see it from the inside anyway, anything but pink.

Lots of battles still to be won with 2 rounds remaining :fencing: (blimey that series went quickly).  :)

Maikel, Manteos and bimbo Nos are in a close fight for 2nd place, with nfsw v Felix and Baikal in a fight to finish in the top 5.
Felix, myself and Shark are fighting for a top 10 finish with only a few points between us.

Then it's pretty much everyone from 13th to 24th in a close points fight so every position counts!

En garde!  :fencing:

Disaster here too, after a few laps I couldn't do T2 either the car span out on entry or when I applied power even when I was tip-toeing through it. Anyway meant I left one lap earlier than I might have as just after I quit my Internet decided to recycle its connection so I would have been dumped out anyway :(

Apparently 6 laps practice last night was all I needed to have a good race this week. No mistakes for me for the first time in a long time and despite the late pressure from NFSW (flashing lights ain't going to work on an old codger like me, it just makes me think there is something wrong with the electrics of your car, or perhaps you're driving something Italian ;) ;)) I came home in a totally unexpected 4th.

This track layout is very fun. I love the last chicane.

QUALIFYING
Good qualyifing for me. With the race fuel I start from the 2nd place.

RACE
I never tried the start, so I've only tried to avoid mistakes. After my tyres warm up then I realize was faster than Matteo and Maikel BUT, overtake is very difficult.
Futhermore in the 3rd lap I lost the position from Maikel. Good overtake mate!

After this I've only tried to reduce my tyre wear, in order to be more aggressive in the second part of the race.
And mission accomplished  ;D

Maikel lap after lap was in trouble with its rear tyres, so I can use my lambo's horsepower. But the overtake was fantastic in the turn 3 because the Maikel's fairness was incredible. I think everyone must see this kind of overtake and learn how to fight. Congratulations.

Lap by lap I've increased my space between me and Maikel, so I can reach the chequered flag without problems.
Congrats to all the drivers and for Matteo was a shame because was very fast.

See you!

Phew, pretty epic race that was. Couldn't get a really good lap in qualli so started behind the 2 Lambo's. Followed them for a few laps until somethung strange happened. Gavino made a little mistake  :o  ;D
So i couldn't resist and move up into the inside and onto p2. Then a few corners later Matteo spun out and I was first. Had the difficult job of keeping Gavino behind me. I had to change my lines abit and focus on the exits. Had a few close battles until the tyres gave out. After that the pace in the fezza dropped very quickly and I saw Gavino drive into the distance. Guess tyre management isn't the Ferraris strong point ( nor mine for that matter )  8)

Was still a very intense race.

Shame the battle for 2nd got kinda decided with a disco.

Another fantastic race of this series with plenty of action throughout   :)

Qually was intense, I was really hoping to squeeze in the top 6 but Simon somehow found 2 seconds since his meagre practise last night. I set a new pb at 1:56.2 but wasn't enough.

I then made an error by forgetting to apply my qually tweaks to my race setup and struggled throughout the race with bad understeer  :'(
Got a good race start and kept close to shark ahead but had Stefans Ferrari attacking me throughout the first two laps allowing shark to pull a gap that I was never able to close, especially once FMG caught me in the pink panzer. From then on until race end we had a great race long battle  :fencing: I kept him behind for ages but eventually the pressure told and I got more ragged, finally going a tad deep at the hairpin allowing the Nisan to power through. Surprisingly I thought he would then be able to scamper away but he seemed unable too and I was glued to his wide pink derrière for over half the race but unable to find a way past.
We were both suffering with shot tyres at the end and it looked great seeing the big Nissan moving about on its tyres. We crossed the line within tenths of each other, brilliant championship and race fight  8) shame I was behind tho  :'(
Final punch in the groin was Nfsw letting my other championship rival get a 4th place finish ahead  :wetfish:

Congrats again to the mesmeric Gavino  :notworthy: and the podium finishers. Thanks also to all who raced  :thumbup1:

Then a few corners later Matteo spun out and I was first.

Lol really?  ;D I was in a solid first place in the imaginary race I was leading  ;D

In the first two laps it seemed most like 'Star Trek' to me, with yours Ferrari and Lambo spacecraft that from time to time flew over me at Warp drive and everybody disappeared  ;D ;D ;D
This sketch has repeated for about three or four times with me asking Gavino on TS if I was still on the server. Then everybody disappeared for the last time and the message: "The server seems to be unavailable" elucidated this situation clearly enough  :dots:

Hope to be able to do the last but I'm not so sure of it...

See you  :)

A) another 3 laps practice before qualifying.  :P
B) soft tyres!

You'll notice that our best race lap was almost identical on mediums, although I guess I was probably a lot more consistent and able to make that pace the whole race than you (to be ahead).

I love this track so much so when i see that car behavior is soo different ( too slippery) in GP sessions and i can't stay on any turn- my hands is going down. Tonight this AC shit happens again. And i don't know what to do with it. I asking again, just for interest, Pete and Mark what  value in CLIENT_SEND_INTERVAL_HZ= we have in UKAC servers? ( file server.cfg). Practically it must to be not more than 18. On other  rackservice.org server , in our league, we set it to 15 and this bug is seems to see fixed . But not sure. May be it's just placebo.
Anyway i am thinking can i drive in such good community like UKAC or not. :'(

Sorry Alexey I meant to look earlier when I did the results and forgot :(

Looks like ours has always been set to 20. What's the logic behind using a lower value? Is it simply it manifests itself as a perceived grip bug or are there other reasons?

My own investigation is staying on AC experience ( i remember the times when in AC beginning we ( and Kunos) was experimenting in these values and it brings many differences with cars sinc \ packets receiving\ overall performances in game. In my case it's just an idea that if use lower value- car sinc\ MP smoothing alghorithms will be working not so hard and may be its brings more stability in case of mine and other guys who has this "low grip" MP issue.. This moment is only way to continue to drive in AC.. All is my IMHO .
BTW as i remember, default value is 18 ( recomended by Kunos) . I can't ask you to set it to 15-16 ( pilots will not see any differencies here) but i can ask set it to 18.  :)
Anyway we have a big differencies in car handling when MP online\ lan mode with same settings. It's in fact. Earlier in AC was the same. Not now...

Why would that have any affect on car grip levels? Is it not just the frequency it updates the car positions? You drivnng and grip levels, sliding is determined on your PC?

Again it felt like the tyres were a few degs different when driving compared to previous testing so decided to try out softs in qually and went over a sec quicker which surprised me. Should have stayed with them in the race as my times were nowhere near what I had been doing even in the race-practise session when driving on mediums.

Post by: picnic on July 06, 2017, 01:04:23 PM +0100
A lower update rate on all the other cars may give your PC more time to process your own physics. This could also explain the difference you're seeing Spanner. It's not until race night you're on the server with more than 2 or 3 other cars.

I'm happy to try other values just wary of doing so in league races. These sort of things need a test race IMHO. Although it might help people with less favourable pings or slower PCs I'd still want to know it didn't create problems for those that have none at the moment, for example the cars jumping around more as the updates are less frequent.

I have no probs with PC performance and have 110 and higher fps in race. With less hz we shouldn't see any visual problems with cars moving because new Kunos opponent car prediction alghoritm is working )

May be, my friend, may be )  I always controlling my ping and yesterday it was't be criminal. But such strange car behavior ( when i can't go on track like i traned before) is not must to have dependency of ping, when i am is my own cockpit and driving a car, isn't it? Although it certainly didn't feel like it at the time, I actually passed you about 5 laps from the end having chased for for the majority!
As I was on softs I think you made your mistake at about the last point in the race that I would be able to take advantage, I was able to scarper only briefly before my tires fell off a cliff and I started to make errors and slow back into your hands.
The big Nissan felt great  (GGGGRRRRRRReat?) though with my setup as it was squirming around all over the shop  ;D
I watched the replay of our battle in full before bed and was enjoying the spectacle of me fighting the lard bucket through the tighter corners and particularly over the kurbs in the Schumacher esses from in car with you 8)

I think it's doing about the same laptimes as the Lambo had been for me but is just so much nicer to drive I can actually push it and chuck it around a bit
