Thanks for letting us know! Because it's so well in advance, we will go with 2.0. If tracks get updated on very short notice before the race, and it doesn't add anything new, then we will stick with the older version to prevent last minute joiners from not getting in.

Trackpack has been updated with the 2.0 version and the links have been changed.

Nice track and quite a challenge. That trackmap is quite deceiving as it feels like a mini nordschleiffe cut into a sand quarry  :P suits these cars well and also reminds me of Riverside a little  8)

Agree . But i need some aero wings  ;D or some better tyres v10 imrovements. Tyres now is not so good in traction aspects... Sometimes i think that if to add 1-2 percents to tracks grip in ini - it will be in point. But need to test here.

I'm withdrawing from the rest of the races (i don't know is this the right topic for that) i got other stuff to do.

Here are my setups from Silverstone, keep in my mind for race setup use more understeery car, after the 10th lap the rear tyres are loosing their grip i had better results that way.

I'm loving this Combo. The Porka is alive here!  ;D

I'm down byabout .3 of a sec at the mo as I keep binning it later in the lap whenever I nail the first 3 corners...
Still got some setup ideas to try as well.
So much more fun driving cars where you don't need to turn on driving aids to get the fast laptimes  (looking at you GT3 :cursing: )

This track is HARDDDDDD. At least there's plenty of run off!!!

Atleast it doesn't count all the laps I went off, now it looks I've only done 3 laps...without counting the dozens of laps I spend somewhere on the outside dunes  ;D.

I think a driveable car is more important here than a nimble and fast feeling car.

The rsr feels really good on this track. Though this was the only track that I found enjoyable in the Escorts series at Core last year  ;D
Probably something about it fits these old cars pretty well. Especially those first few corners are great.

Kinda surprised at my laptime, though I'll probably start at the rear come race time  ;D

so easy to fall off here, almost every corner can sucker you into an oversteer or running wide, a real challenge  :)  Knocked 2 secs off my pb tonight so pleased with that progress  :) leaving about 5 days since learning the track the first time around really hindered me this eve, you really need to get into the flow of this place.

We should run these here sometime  ;D

This should be a close one,  the top 8 are all within half a second currently  ;D
I'm annoyed at being 5th so far, as I have potential for the fastest lap but never seem to keep it clean once I get .4 or so down. I think I need to be able to assist my diff on the fly,  I'm faster over all with my new setting, but much slower in sector 3 now...  ::)

First off, thanks to all who showed up. I expected single digit grid, hence I opted for fairly short race and quick qually, so this is a nice bonus :).

Qually was closer than expected, I thought there would have been more drama with incidents, but was far as I could tell, that wasn't the case during qually.

Had a bad start, as I had no idea what to expect. Was very cautious at the start and got swamped, but that led to amazing fights with Matteo, Gavino and fmg. Side by side with Matteo through turn 1 and 2 and the same with Gavino through "Valley of the lefts"  :o. I was struggling with pace in a crowd, but once I had some free space I was able to slowly get closer to Felix, but he was too fast to try anything.

Oh, and I think a guy called Maikel also joined. Never saw him, but he was on the timing table  ;D

Maybe a server disconnect or something. Because I saw you all at the start but after the first lap you were nowhere to be seen    8)

Tonight went much better then I expected. During practice the car just felt right and I even managed to do a 37, no idea how I managed that and I can't seem to find the practice session anywhere to save  ;D

I took it abit cautious for the quali but it seems I wasn't the only one as I think the top 8 or so was pretty close.
The start was good with Gavino right on my tail until the last corner of the Valley of the lefts ( what a brilliant name btw for a bunch of corners  :P ) where he ran wide. After that it was pretty much a "trying not to make too many mistakes and save those rear tyres" race. It seemed to work since the rears weren't even yellow by the end.
But it was still a blast since this track is really good with these kinds of cars. I also had to push in order to give everyone another lap since I crossed the finish line with only a second or two on the clock.  ;D

This combo is definitely going in the favorites book.
Next up though Vallelunga, my not so very favorite track  ;D

Kept out of trouble for the whole race, was keeping a close eye on Stefan's pace as he would normally be my main rival.

I ended up in an orange skinned car so there would appear to be a problem there.

Just a small point, could drivers be a little more careful when rejoining the track. There was one occasion when I got a bit of a tank slapper on when a car just pulled out and didn't get up to speed.

Race of two halves for me again, a reverse of Silverstone though.  :(

Qually went as expected, ran wide on cold fronts and got a cut penalty. I think we should up the qually to two flying laps personally, but then at least its fun fighting through the field of cars so cant complain too much. Just that one lap here is a nightmare to get right on cold fronts.

Started about 3rd from back, got a good start but someone had a contact on my right and their errant car nudged me off the track into fast downhill T1, but no harm done other than lost seconds.
Then had a fantastic climb up through the field from about 17th to 8th or 9th hanging onto ChrisR's shirt strings as we carved our way through. Sadly it then all went pear shaped dead on half distance at 15mins, as following Stefan too closely I missed a braking point and ran off into the sand  :'( This must have got me all hot and bothered as then had a nightmare with a huge tank slapper at the final turn that lost me about 30 seconds... a disaster with the pace showing tonight and just no way I could re-cover it. I had a very messy middle race for some reason with tyre locking and understeering off etc, very frustrating, then suddenly I was back on the pace again and lopping heaps of time off the guys ahead  ???
Finished 12th I think, a disappointing finish as I really enjoyed this combination of car and track and had the pace for a top 10 finish.

Congrats to the consistent and quick runners up front  8)

Lucky old you, I got hit twice before the first corner, the second hit sending me off the track in a spin. For those quick guys who **** up qualifying please show more respect for those of us who did an ok job. Waste of an evening for me as a result.

Side by side with Matteo through turn 1 and 2 and
3 and 5  ;D ;D

Really nice race even if the result wasn't so good.
Bad quali lap put me in 6th place, but after an aggressive start I found myself in 4th place. At the end of the firt lap Gavino went on the sand gifting me the 3rd place. I then started to chase Felix but we were pretty on the very same pace during the first laps, so I wasn't able even to try a move on him. Jeffrey in the meantime was waiting for a small mistake and after a few laps it happened.
I had a bad exit speed at the last corner so Jeffrey was able to get alongside my car before the first corner and we went side by side for corner 1 and 2. Than Jeffrey was on the inside so I let him by before the braking for corner 3 in which I braked earlier than before. That allowed me to exploit a better exit speed and get alongside Jeffrey's car again, this time with me on the inside line. We did all the corner few inches by each other and on the subsequent braking I quite manage to do one of the best overtakes of my entire simracing career, passing Jeffrey on the outside of the left corner before the Valley of the lefts. I was excited at the point that after few corners I did make a gift to Jeff going wide at "The Hairpin".
From that moment I was so sweated at the point that my eyes were burning, so I just tried to dry the forehead during the straight and finish my race. :D

Grats to Maikel, showing a great pace here, and also to Felix and Jeffrey for a well deserved podium.

I should be there for the last race before my holidays next week. In that case I will race with a bandana on my head  ;D

See you ;)

My mantra for this race was just to take it easy and try to survive a clean race. That lasted about 5 seconds into my qually lap when I screwed up the first corner..

So started at the back alongside MJ. He got away lightly by the 2 cars ahead of us coming together, but I got taken out before the first corner. Not ideal, but actually the race after that, trying to catch back up with the cars ahead, was a lot of fun. Hard work, but fun.

Really enjoyed this car here, great combination. Congrats to the podium.

NOTE I'll be reviewing the first lap and handing out penalties if required, even for incidents that didn't get reported. If you want an incident after lap 1 looked at, you need to submit an incident report via the normal way.

Another great race, this time with a bit of luck on my side.

This time I managed to get a valid qualify lap. I tried to be careful and never push too much, but in the end I got a decent lap time that gave me the 5th on the starting grid.

On the first couple of turns, of the first lap, I think Jeffrey, went wide and that slowed down FMG and I passed them both and got up to 3rd place with Mateo right on my tail. I tried to defend but braking for the next corner I went in just a bit to fast and went slightly wide. Me and Mateo had a slight bump but luckily we kept our positions. Then a couple of turns ahead Gavino had a situation and locked the wheels and went out of the track. With that I got the second position.

After that I tried to be as fast as possible without making too much mistakes. Easier said than done with this cars. But, even with small mistakes here and there, I managed to keep the second place and defend from Mateo when we was close enough to strike an attack. But gradually I started to have a gap between me and the following group of cars.

The on the second part of the race I started to have some issues with tire wear that caused me to loose concentration and started to loose a few tenths, or even a second, a lap which meant that by the end of the race, Jeffrey was really close. For the last two laps was full concentration to keep the car on the black stuff, trying never to go too deep into the corners so that I could have a good exit and keep safe from an eventual Jeffrey attack.

In the end the second position was very good and much better than I expected given the pace of other drivers that were quite faster then me, but due to race circumstances, ended up behind me.

Also to note a situation when I was approaching a back marker and on the last corner I saw him go wide, spin and when I saw him coming back into the track backwards out of control I thought I couldn't avoid him. Luckily I managed to avoid him, but lost almost a second and a half with it. :)

Great race yesterday.

Horrible qualy but gaining the third position was very good compared with my lap time.

Good start but I had no training. So I've performed mistakes everywhere.
Moreover my setup had a lot of understeer that slowed me a lot.

But was funny! And this is the only important topic.
At the finish the 4th place is better than my expectations.

Congrats to all the drivers.
See you in the next race

During the first lap, halfway on the track I completely fired the brakes and brought with me another pilot in the sand.
I am very sorry for that and I humbly apologize because it usually does not happen to me, maybe the few training laps have betrayed me  :'(
I waited for my opponent to leave all of them as by gentlemen's rules, but then I hit a shot that sent me into the woods.
However, I got the last race and managed to get eighth with lots of fun.
I thank you for the hospitality, we see in Vallelunga  ;)

Not very good race for me, started 9th reached 6th and after the first 3 or 4 good laps made a mistake and then every lap was worse than the previous one...
Finally after being lapped I thought it was better to pit for quitting...

Hopefully I'll do better another time, next week I won't race .... maybe on 16th ... for sure on 23rd I'll be back!

Ciao
Alberto
