As you've asked so nicely I've put it up but I expect SRW will nick it for his Sunday race at some point

Thought I'd raise this well in advance so everyone is aware:
Expect a pretty big update on Wednesday before the race - I may be a bit crap as I expect I won't be able to resist driving the 33 instead of practicing  ;D

Will that 33 for with anything else in the game?

Curious how Laguna is going to be.

Muira maybe - that'll have better top speed/Power, but the 33 was pretty much a race car that was never raced. It should have weight and therefore agility over the Lambo to even them back out.
Nothing in the Porsche pack jumps out as being in the right period, Fez 330 is way to fast, and the 250 will be too slow.
I guess the Mk1 Escort might be similar - but the speed will be made very differently so might not be great to race...

Don’t suppose anyone knows a target time to aim for here in these cars? Can imagine we will have quite a variance in lap times through the grid ;D

Now where’s my Jackie Stewart helmet and goggles...

It will be my first race with my new shifter on a track I normally don't race at. So if you don't go faster than 10 minutes, you can keep me company...for the first lap, in which I will crash.

with noisy consequences  ::)

i managed an 8.34 on 2nd lap  :o pretty pleased for starters, as I haven't turned a lap on this track for at least 6 months and never in a single seater!

Would have improved more but my steering lost all control on the 3rd lap  :( its almost like the system runs out of memory for the controllers but ive got a high-ish end system and plenty of ram and gfx power. ??? Any ideas? happens very occasionally.

Also have no idea if I'm in the right gear ratio  :-\ always tough to know if you go long to suit the long old back straight or shorter to suit the twisties more ???

I love this track too, I am always surprised when someone says 'I hate this track' (usually Shark ;) ) whats not to love? its got almost everything. 8)

My first timed lap without a cut warning is a 8:21, so only 14 seconds off pace so far   :P. Did hit the armco on my outlap, so no idea what toe I was running from that moment onwards  ;D.

With my current seating position, I can barely heal toe, as my right knee has to bend pretty much to the other knee, so I'm often shifting like a granny, from 5th straight into 2nd  ;D

So i expect you fast front group will be sub 8 mins with a few more laps. I don’t know the whole lap off by heart so never going to be able to push the whole time but know probably two-thirds of it quite well. You would need to do a lot of laps in this car here to really go for it but just will not have the time this close to Christmas  :'(

Turn your speakers up, take the 33 to Imola and keep the revs above 5k.
Thank me later ;D

I'm guessing it's too rough to truly simulate under 3k as that's where the sound gets a bit iffy, but you really don't want the revs that low anyway.
Oh, and it's an absolute hoot to drive

Thanks for the early heads up. I noticed there were some minor content updates, although I'm not sure they would have effected tonight's event, but boss wasn't looking so I've updated the server anyway. Hopefully all will be good later.

Today was a strange day for me.
Like a teenager, I came on the server shy and hesitant. The first time at Nordschleife, first time in race online...
I had ever a fear of this track, also in GPL (but I admit that I was much more little), never learnt completly, too complex, too dangerous, too green...
In AC just touched it maybe 3 or 4 times; why need to learn a track with 77 corners when I have a lot of normal tracks?
But today I couldn't escape from my fears. I did 4 days of full immersion to learn the layout, and at last I did a clean lap. 8.28
Hum, could be a decent lap? I opened the Stracker, and looking the ChrisR laptime: I'm a hopeless noob!
But the 'ring is the 'Ring, so I decided anyway to partecipate, is the last race of the championship, and this legendary track need my respect. So I decide to face my fears.
I qualify in 7th position, wow, I say, not bad for me! Just only 20 second from the first!
Start! Luckly I mantained my position really close from... I don't remember, Mark? Anyway I started to enter in tunnel vision (really bad choice) and indeed I did a easy mistake: I did a "S" in 4th instead 3rd.
The german ARMCO in pure Krupp steel destroyed all two right side suspensions. And this at first lap.
Sadness and depression started to pervade my soul. But at last I tought "I decided to partecipate at ring, and I want to finish the race"
So I did all the race with the steering well on left, and at last lap I did an overtake too!
My maximium speed was around 231 km/H, 5th gear was really useless!
I finished the race 11th, at least, not bad for me ;)
Thank for the championship guys, was the my first online championship, and was really funny and an incredible experiece! I hope that this will follow to other historical champ, with other cars and tracks!
Merry Christmas to all, cya at Kyalami ;)

Didn’t go quite as I hoped but still good fun.
Foiled by a stupid cut warning in qualifying that wasted an 8 minute lap time for running mildly wide in one of a gazillion corners ::)  :taz: (we really didn’t need cut warnings here).
This was fundamental as meant I had no qually lap time on the board and was dumped behind cars running 10secs a lap slower  :(
As usual first lap looked fantastic with a grid of these cars dicing away in the sweeping corners  8) but also nerve wracking that several cars might touch..we didn’t  :)
As the grid shook out it was fitting I found myself behind my series long close rival in Chris T  :fencing: we had a great slice and dice for a lap until I got past.
I built a lead and Then my first mis-gear shift of the night caused a spin in a silly easy corner and Chris was back on me again. So it took me another lap of harassing him to get by only for to have yet another mid-shift right at the end of the lap causing me to get all out of shape  :(
After shaking my head I then cracked on with a clear road ahead and went instantly 13 secs faster  :o
But that was the last lap sadly. Shame as I think I could have harassed Jeff and maybe Maikel here without losing the 20+ secs trying to fight from the back.
Great to finally get a championship round here, let’s do it again  :)

Great series, really enjoyed it,well done and thanks for organising  :thumbup1:

Super race, loads of fun and really enjoyed it (apart from my 5 spins, but let's not mention that..). Been a fun series all round in fact, probably the most fun I've had in AC. Shame I had to miss a chunk of races. Thanks to Jeff and the admins; Happy Christmas all!

First of all, I must say that it was a funny race.

After a good quali lap (which could have been a lot better without that damned 'cuts'), I tried to keep Felix' pace, but Fmg was attacking me everywhere until the end of the second sector, so I was more busy in defending myself than attacking Felix actually.
Then I took a bit of gap by fmg and I was pushing hard to come back on Felix. During the third lap I gained 1 second on him in the first two sectors, but then I spun at the little karousell.
Second position was lost, but I had to defend the podium. I pushed like a crazy to keep high the concentration on the last lap, but at the 'Hoheneichen' my car spun again hitting the armco.
Luckily the damage were not too heavy, but Chris was right on my back after he passed Fabri. I knew that he would have been faster on the single lap but overtaking here is very difficult, so I fought all the lap to keep that half second separating us as much as possible. At the exit of the Karoussel he was right on my backfires and in the subsequent corners we were side by side, but I mangaed to keep the third position until the checkered flag. Great stuff, thanks for the fun Chris.
At least, now I shouldn't be anymore in the last position of this unlucky championship for what regards me. I hope to be a bit luckier in the next one(s).
I'll not be able to race on 27th, due to a fun event we organized with the VDA in the same date.

Have fun and merry XMas to all of you. Cu on track in 2018 ;)

Had a fun race, didnt manage a qual lap, not through lack of trying tho.. just couldnt string together two laps for some reason!.

Had a nice 1/2 lap with matteo in which he held up a great fight, not wanting to be too forceful on this combo i faught to the end and ended 4th.

I have really enjoyed the season, thumbs up to Jeffery as i know how difficult it can be picking and choosing tracks to race on, i think given the availible tracks he did a pretty good job.

I wont be able to join you guys on the 27th as i have qualifying to do for AC Italys ROTY event.

So i shall see you all on track in the new year.?

Like already mentioned; great to have a championship round on this track and with a lovely car. Thanks to everybody who participated and to Jeff in particular for organizing it all.

Just feel a bit sad... every other car will feel bland now after these!  ::)

Thanks to Jeffrey for organising a very entertaining series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and to finish at the Ring, where the car seemed right at home, was a great finale.

I predicted that after the first lap I wouldn't see another car. Far from it, there was always a car visible in front and behind. Great fun making it as difficult as possible for Mark, as I know he was after some points, and also Stefan champing at my heals. Well done guys, good driving from the pair of you.

Well done to Felix, Chris and Fabri for some great consistent driving.

Merry Christmas all, and have a safe, happy new year with some great racing.

Cheers Chris

Well, as can be seen in my results over the season - it took a while, but I finally sussed the setups in these ;D

I guess it's the price I pay for insisting on doing it myself wherever possible. I've had great fun in this series, and the last few rounds since I've got a hand on how to set the cars up have been an absolute joy.

Big thanks to Jeffers for all the work behind this, and of course to all the others who have also joined in. Wouldn't have been half as much fun on my own ;)

For a change of pace may I sugest motorsports land 2 in the Abarth 595's now?  ;D

Yes big congrats to Felix, a worthy champion in these cars  :thumbup1:

I thoroughly enjoyed a season long fight for 5th with ChrisT and one or two others, only for FMG to nip ahead of both of us in the last round  ::)  :D

Good tracks, good racing (mostly!) The only thing I didn't like was the occasional un-predictability of the car under braking/downshifts when it would do its best to put you into the scenery, even though you braked the same way at the same corner 15 times previously!  :-X but nice to have a car to slide around in a fairly controllable way. Am sure we can get similar with some of the other historic cars on offer  :)
