Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start.

This series features two races per evening. You can run the same car in both races or switch cars after race one. Just do not exceed your allotted car allowance or you will get a DQ

Yes Tony.
If I deinstall the Porsche all the other cars are working. Same problem with Mini 1275 and Merc 300 LM55.

I do recall others having this problem but I cannot remember if/how they fixed it, sorry. I suspect it requires GTL to be re-installed though.

Most likely will not make this race.  Am scheduled for going under the knife Monday AM to fix my lower back/nerve problems..According to the doctor it is a minor operation with a 2 inch cut and then they align my spinal columm up and put some packing in to replace the disc material thats been compacted or missing.  They say I should be going home in the PM unless I have a problem with the knockout drugs.  Never had a operation so don't know how that stuff will affect me.  They say I will be pain free for the most part and feel like a new old man again!! So will see you all at Daytona in the LMC cars.....

Have fun

Don't worry Bob,  I had six operation in my life before get it It looks bigger than it is when finish you will think that it was a stupid thing. What is important is relax yourself and think about other things like our races,  the time pass quickly,  maybe if you are lucky around to you will found some beautiful nurse.  Don't worry I will think to pick some good point for our team.

The paddles of my g27 no working I need to pass to manual shift from next races and heel toe also,  it will be all more complicated overall because for some moment I will have hold my steering wheel with my sick arm when I m changing gear,  but if I will see that I m an obstacle to some one on the track I will back to box to stop my race,  sorry

Would it be worth playing with Auto box? You can still manually overide with stick shift when needed. Not ideal I know but it might take some strain of your arm? Server is set up for Auto gearbox now if you wanted to test.

No i will use the manual shift, with auto gearbox i m not more Ziu, anyway thanks Tony. The problem with paddles it s that not working on some sector of the track, i thought that was a problem with my GTL folder and i tried also with GTR2 but i had the same problem. Also next monday i had this problem since the first race. Matt started very well on race1 but on first laps i not could pass from gear3 to gear4 and just from second lap start to work all well, but this time i cannot go out to the pitline some time. I tried to do some laps with Escort rs1600 and it not seems so bad........ ::)

Thanks so much Kurt but the problem is on electronic card because also the others buttons not are working.  When I seen that paddles not was working I put gears on red buttons but not working.  In facts here I have the switch of lights and the liniter control and nothing any thing not working.  The only thing that working is the satellite with manual shift and buttons.  I was taking some laps but it s all uncomfortable to my arm overall and also to switch on lights and limiter control is a problem.  The worst thing is when I m on the long straight and I have pass from gear 5 to gear 2, that moment is a tragedy because my arm not is enough strong and it s easy loose the control and also if I put the satellite on left I cannot use the manual shift because my elbow is blocked....... Anyway the thing that is frustrating me is that I m slow in this condition

You'll still be 3-4 seconds faster than me Ziu!  Sympathies regarding the arm, I get upper arm pain in my right arm every time I race (often the same driving on the road, unfortunately), so know what a drag that can be.  H

Maybe you dont understood....to replace the bones of my elbow with screws and plates on my arm i had an operation of 4 hours and i cannot more extend my left arm with consequences to the tendons until my hand, sorry if it's cheap or you want a match also to see who between me and you have the worst arm ? I have a screw that cross my elbow, it is the hinge of my elbow, every time i turn my steering wheel if i use like word "pain" it s silly thing. Now ask to yourself where i find the seconds on my laps, because this seconds not are never enough !

Sorry if I caused offence Ziu, no, I did not know all the details, but in any case it was NOT meant to make light of your problem. I was actually trying to be encouraging, and it obviously went very wrong. It was in no way meant to compare my ailment with yours, it doesn't even come close.  I was in fact completely unaware you had that level of damage.  I compliment you on your speed and perseverance under those circumstances.  :(

hehe, we do love you Ziu, you know that  ;)
Not sure what car to use tonight. I am fastest in the Nissan (is there a Nissan? something japanese)
I have only done a few test laps in each car. The Beemer is pure masochism, the Pork is not much better for me
I will do a few laps when I get home later and decide. I was doing 2:05s in them all except the Nissan which
was, for me quite  a bit faster here. My rabbits are rather old and fat, no match for Sardinian hares....

If you rabbit go head to eat so much he could become a little pig with big ears

Despite the performance, I remain pessimistic. After the second race I was very tired and aching and the first mistake in race 1 was determined by a mistake by changing gear from 2 to 3 but I put 1.
However, for the moment I do not think about buying a new g27, this is a challenge for me I can only hope to improve in the coming weeks with training and practice.
However race 1 and race 2 were fun, especially the first four laps with Matt and Clive, I felt like I was in the middle of a sandwich. I am also convinced that I chose the best car for this track so the performance was determined by Porsche and not by the driver's ability, I just tried not to make things worse.
Surely we will have a fun series and with new scenarios every race, the formula with these cars works well.

Grats Geoffers and I'm very sorry Matt, I was hoping to have a very long battle with you, you were very fast on the straights and effective in the deep braking, you really busy me.

I enjoyed both races, race one was a long tussle with Roger in the disturbingly fast Beemer, which
was visibly faster on the straight  :o Good driving from Roger so we didn't tangle anywhere  :thumbup1:

Race two, managed to avoid Geoffers spin, and the "3 into one doesn't go" at T1 and somehow got in front
of Ziu  ;D I have no doubt you would have passed somewhere eventually Ziu, but was fun while it lasted
I went off a bit letting him and I think Erling through. I then tried to hound Erling as best as I could
but he was a bit quicker, though I managed to keep Clive behind.

Great stuff. I just took the cars I found most drivable here, I need to do some practice in the Beemer and Pork
for other rounds.

Huge grats to Ziu who is still able to drive faster than the rest of us even with a very painful arm.  :notworthy: I did not think that anyone would go sub 2:00mins, but he clipped 2 secs off that prediction!!!

The only preparation that I did for this race was a few laps on Sunday just to check that I had all of the cars, in all the right places, for the server. I kind of knew the track from previous races and remember using the Skyline a couple of seasons back, but any setups I might have had, have been lost in my rebuilding of GTL to a stable and working platform.

So, practice for the first race and I initially picked the BMW ...just because.... and found myself following Matt in the Skyline for a few laps. Hmmm that Skyline looked quick, maybe I should give that a spin?
After a few laps I was liking the Nissan and seemed to be posting laps that might get me towards the front of the grid, until Ziu unleashed his Porker  :o.
Decided to stick with the Nissan for race 1 and it was hectic in the first laps with Roger chasing Ziu and Geoffers ahead. Not sure what happened but , Roger's car suddenly looked very unstable and eventually went way wide at T3 allowing me through to chase after Geoffers.
Ha!! some chance of that!! Ziu and Geoffers just drove away from me. But I was able to ease away from Roger and Matt, who were arguing about the place behind. The rest of the race was quite lonely and I drove my own race to the flag.

Race 2 I decided to use a different car ( just to preserve my options for later in the series ) and rolled out the Beemer.
After the debacle at T1 I emerged from a cloud of metalwork and rubber smoke to find myself almost alongside Ziu for 2nd place and with Matt leading??!! Not being one to look too closely when gifted that sort of luck I chased the 2 leaders hard and hoped to escape from those recovering behind.
Maybe I should have done a little more preparation on my setup, because the left rear tyre was glowing red after the first 5 laps and was suffering from tremendous tyre wear.....I cannot believe that it was my driving???  ::).
Geoffers caught me and soon found a way past in his BMW, but then he opted to test the concrete pit wall and I think that finished his race. Again I had a steady run to the flag just trying to keep the tyres alive and very grateful that no-one was pressing me from behind!!

Thanks Tony for what looks like a fun season  ;)

Struggled with these cars in the past, and this season seems to continue the tradition.

Picked the Opel for the first race. Thought I had tamed its end swapping tendencies offline, but still lost it under braking several times in pre race praccy + qual.    Off the pace and down in midfield at the start.

Got reasonably well off the line, but a fishtailing Clive ahead forced me to back off, allowing Kurt past.  Few corners later, going into the uphill lefthander, Kurt started to lose the rear.  I would have avoided him, if not for a whack on the inside from an overzealous Beemer, which sent me wide and straight into the side of Kurt.  Sorry about that Kurt; no way of avoiding it.  I ended up sideways, parked in the gravel and down to 9th when I got going again.  Kurt waited and let me past, although it was no fault of his, but couldn't communicate that under the circumstances.

Caught Bill and tried a pass at the end of the straight, but damn near lost it when the Opel tried to mug me once again. Bill apparently let me past - thanks Bill, that wasn't called for.  Passed a recovering Tony right after and thus up to 6th.   Remaining cars in front continued to pull away, and gap behind was growing too, so most of the race was utterly lonely.  Hard to keep up concentration and motivation.

At the start of the final lap, I saw puffs of smoke that quickly grew denser, with a crippled Roger at the end.  Went past and thus finished a not quite deserved 5th.

Mayhem at T1 on lap 1 of race 2; got in a squeeze between Ziu & Matt, and then had to navigate around a reversed Geoffers. With the infernal Nissans around, you can't hear your own thoughts, let alone your own engine noise.  Lost more places, when I realized I was in 1st, at 9500 rpm and going nowhere..  ::)   Looked for a way past Tony, but didn't find one until the end of the straight, when I slipped in front with some late braking.

Hunted down Clive over a number of laps, only to have Matt add to the confusion, by rejoining between us, just as I was getting close to Clive. Next lap, Clive had a moment and we both slipped past.  More (very) late braking at the end of the straight saw me past Matt, and then needed several very concentrated laps to build a small gap of 2 secs.  Then my mirrors went empty and gap jumped to 6 secs, when Matt went off out of sight.  Up ahead, Ziu was still moving away, so just focused on hanging on to 2nd.

Grats to podium in race 1, and to Ziu & Matt in race 2.  Not sure I quite buy Ziu's claims about the car doing it all - the Porker I tried wasn't nearly that fast...  ;)  (And grats to Ziu for pulling all this off under very difficult conditions!!)

Can only speak for myself, but would really appreciate just 5 minutes worth of practice in race 2, to adjust to another car, instead of jumping straight to an already halved qual session.  I need a fair few laps to get into my stride, and was nowhere near my pb with the Beemer (2:00.49).

Clive and others. Some of the cars have up to four available tyre makes/types. it's worth investigating  ;) :shifty: :whistling:

Had busy day, so I chose my third choice car. Set my fastest time by about 5 seconds in practice but I just couldn't match that in qualifying or the race. First few laps were OK but then concentration flagged and I had a number offs and spins.

Decided to give Race 2 a miss and have an early night. Tried to Chat my intention to Tony so as Race 2 would not be held up waiting for me but apparently confused him. Sorry Tony but I thought it needed to be short as time between Races could have been too short for me to consider a better form of message!  :wheelchair:

That pre-supposes that I will find the time/inclination to test all the available track/car/tyre/setup parameters for each race!

TBH not very likely  ::).

I barely find time to do any serious pre race practice these days, and I generally rely on the 20-30 mins before the race to get myself organised. Which probably explains the multitude of errors and mistakes that I make  :-\.
Before Erling, Matt and Geoffers jump on me for fishing for lap times lol, I confess that sometimes I do find an odd 30 mins during the week when I can actually do some pre race practice and set up testing.

8)

Both races in the Skyline.
First one on Goodyears. Surprisingly good praccy and quali. After a good start I was in 4th or 5th position
when I lost the car and dropped to last place. Remainder of the race was one to forget.

Without having tested other tyres I decided spontaneously to switch to Michelin historic and had a new pb in my
only timed lap in quali. Again a good start but after some slight mistakes I dropped to last. Realized that the tyres were much more heating up than the Goodyears but could arrange with that and came in a good mood battling with Tony for the remainder of the race.
Good fun!

With the miserable weather on Sunday I thought it would be a good chance to try out all the cars for this race. Started with the BMW which I already had a setup for, however it was only then that I realised there were three tyre choices for the car. So instead of testing all the cars, all I managed was to try out the different tyres on the BMW, so that was the car I was destined to use. Of the tyres the Dunlops & Dunlop Historics seemed marginally faster than the Goodyears, & as they had the least wear & appeared to have the most stable handling I went with the Historics.

Got a good start to race 1 but got a bit out of shape exiting T2 & Ziu went past & gradually pulled away over the opening laps. Equally I was edging away from Rog, Clive & Matt behind. Looked set for a lonely run to 2nd until lap 5 when I came across Zui spun at T10 & I was in the lead. Ziu soon caught up & I expected him to find a way past but he then spun again leaving me with a comfortable lead & an undeserved win.

Got an even better start to race 2 & led easily down to T1 where once again I discovered that treading on the clutch pedal does not do a very good job of stopping the car! ::)  Even though I did succeed in finding the correct stopping pedal & got down through the gears, the car was still going too fast to make the corner & I spun. Sorry to those who got involved, I was going to press 'Esc' but by then everyone had either found a way around or hit me, so I didn't see much point!

Proceeded to chase back through the field, which went OK to start with, but when I caught Clive I had to brake mid-corner to avoid running into him & promptly spun again. Got going, caught & passed Clive this time only to spin at the final turn into the pit wall. :cursing: Got underway again but now had a flat front tyre, so had to crawl slowly to the pits for new tyres. Noticed there was some damage to repair, but cancelled that, rejoined, got to T1/2 & the car just wanted to swap ends. This happened at every subsequent corner, suspension broken, so decided to pull into the pits & retire as I was so far behind by now that I was never going to make up any more places.

Congrats to the other podium mounters.

Cya all at Daytona.  :thumbup2:
