Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start.

Thanks Tony for organising the event and getting an evenly competitive group of cars. Nice to race on a track with a car I felt comfortable with. Made a mess of qualifying! ::)

Made a good start gaining a few places into the first corner and had Clive nibliling at my tail for a few laps. He appeared to have a problem with over steer and kept loosing  the rear end. After he dropped out I had one hard lap trying to keep ahead of Geoff but I used the full track through the first S bend allowing him to exit on a tighter line; he slowly crept level allowing  him the racing line for the next S bend and forcing me to brake early allowing Geoff to make a clean pass. He quickly pulled away but I had the satisfaction of a new PB in the short battle. After that I had to keep driving hard to keep my place. An enjoyable evening!  ;D

Not normally a fan of long tracks, but Spa I like!   Great fun just trying to beat it's various challenges, never mind other racers.  Managed to stay on course for a point or two in Race 1, dodging a few offs by others, but made a bit of a mess of the second one, after a decent start, including punting Matt into a spin in the chicane in a battle of the Porsches that would have been fun to carry on. Sorry Matt, definitely my fault   :(  Glad there wasn't any terminal damage inflicted.  Eventually lost it and hit a barrier, so called it a night.

Wasn't aware of any punt, I thought I just got too high on the kerbs, no worries
That was a minor delay, I screwed up Eau Rouge on lap one without any help  ::)

Your problem is that you see too much this details, for example yesterday I drove on Eau Rouge kerbs how them not existing, I cannot say that kerbs were high because the kerbs on Eau Rouge not there are if one not want see them

Hehe, whether I saw them or not, the porka, at least with my setup doesn't like kerbs
anywhere, I spun several times by getting a wheel up the kerb at a few places
my lack of skill perhaps, but the kerb effect was very real. In fact I think I spun more
when I didn't think about them, and they caught me out.  :P

Two very similar races for me yesterday.  At the start of both, I found myself in 4th, following Geoffers down the long straight.  In both races, his Commodore decided to do what it does best: Mug its driver on corner entry, so he lost the rear and I inherited 3rd.  How he set such blistering qual times in that malicious, evil beast impersonating an Opel is beyond me  :o

In race one, Fulvio gradually disappeared up front, while Matt shadowed me for a few laps before falling back.  In race two, I drove my wheelnuts off trying to keep Fulvio within visual range. By and large succeeded, as the gap was around 4 secs for most of the race.  Behind me, Matt had been replaced by Bob, but he disappeared from view after a couple of laps.

Grats to Ziu on two wins that were never challenged, and to Fulvio on two 2nd places.  Commiserations to those that met with misfortune.

Result_R1 (https://www.avonrise.co.uk/srou/kurts/Spa_02042018_R1)

8)

Race One: Had to go off near the end of lap one as I had to avoid Bill, damaged my suspension and dropped to last.
Had a frustrating race as I came close again to Huggy three times and spun every time until suspension was destroyed.
At least two pb's.

Race Two: faultless and smooth one with two more pb's.

Like the track. Need to visit Spa again this year - if I'm healthy enough,

What about Roger?

Just had a look at my replay of this race. Sorry to contradict you but you didn't have to avoid my car. You tried to go around me on the outside of a curve and locked up your bakes and skidded into the barrier damaging your car. If you think I caused your accident I suggest you raise an incident report.

Two very different races for me.  In R1 Tony and I were together with me mostly following him.  We had different gears and he would pull away from me in the corners and the long straights.  Then Geoff joined us from a earlier spin of his I guess.  All three of us in the Opel's.  He powered by me but Tony held him off for some time.  They had one spin together and then I broadsided one of them, Tony I think, on the corner exit.  We all waited for each other and took off again.  Geoff then pulled away from us but later went off into a sand trap so we passed him again.
R2 was just me against the track and the Opel.  I changed gears for this one and a little suspension adjustments that allowed me to use the curbs without effecting the car too much.  Got a great start following Erling but of course couldn't stay with him so just drove the track without seeing anyone the whole race. My times  were some better than with the R1 setup, wish I would have used it from the start.  Glad to get the Opel drive out of the way, not a favorite of mine, seems really twitchy in braking and cornering but after I got the setup so I could drive it not real bad.  As Bill said the cars seem pretty even for being so different and I like the series.  Thanks Tony!!!!
Now on to Egglestone, a quirky little track seems to me.  Should be fun........

Optional reading out of my memory bank.:::  My brother bought a Opel, was called a Manta over here and sold and serviced by the Buick dealers.  He had a 68 Barracuda with the gas guzzling 383 cubic inch Magnum and then the oil embargo hit, this was in about 1971/72 I think.  I drove it a few times and it was a fun little car, pretty peppy and had good build quality compared to our yank tanks.  He also bought one of those Opel's that were styled like the Sting Ray Corvettes. But with Opel running gear.  This was in the mid 80's or maybe later.  He started to restore it as it was in pretty bad shape but never got it fully done and sold it because life and family got in the way.  Any way thats my connection with Opel's........

It was called Manta here too.  It must have been the first generation, if it was in 1971/72; to me, it's still one of the best looking cars Opel has ever made.

In Europe, Opel was part of the General Motors group. In the UK the almost identical cars were badged as Vauxhalls.

Not your fault, Bill. I think I wasn't in the race 100% yet  ::) :P

Are you talking about Opel GT ? It was one of the more beautiful coupè in Europe at the time, too bad it had a too slow engine...

Races in the Beamer it was good, at least I didn't make big mistakes, but I had to work on setup to have a more stable car.
Ciao
P.S.
Sorry for no show lately, but I had some meetings and then two week of flue  :(

Yes that was it.  Opel GT.  Back then they were making a kit for engine mounts and such to squeeze a 4.3L Chevy v6 motor in them.  This engine basically  was a small block Chevy V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off.  Made the car into a real screamer and there was some speed hopups for the motor because it was used in a smaller motor class on dirt track oval racing around here.  See a few of them at auto shows now but most have gone to old car heaven....

Just watched this show on the gear head channel the other nite.  A Opel GT fix-up show:
