Car restrictions: The most popular make model used at this event will be dropped from the list of cars available for future races. If two or more makes models tie for most popular, then the highest finishing make model will be dropped. The final race of the series will be "free choice" and all car makes models will be available.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: 2x
Pit stops: Required

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: No start lights so drivers are advised to have auto countdown turned on. Pit entry lane is very short. 40MPH/60KPH Pit lane speed limit. No practice password. Please use usual race password.

Tony, the car restrictions says the most popular make will be dropped, but car list indicates that it is in fact the model.  Is the small Mazzer still available, along with the AM DBR1 ?

Haven't had the enthusiasm to do any practice for this & as it is quite a tricky track & I don't remember which way the corners go, I will probably give it a miss.

I picked the wrong car....drove like a man with 3 arms and one eye..............bent things that were important under the bodywork............. and when I got to the pits Mabel and Arnold walked away and refused to waste any more fuel or tyres!!
Grats to those who finished and to the podium people.

Yep
No practice at all. so took the car I used last time, only to find my quickly made setup was rubbish
and it plowed on at corners for fun :o So much so that I understeered into a lamp post on lap 1  :-[

Smooth first half of the race in the Gullwing with 4 or 5 new pb's - although in last place way back behind the fast cars.
After my pit stop I got 2 s&g penalties  ::) , completely lost my rhythm and crashed out at a hay bale.  :P

Sorry I missed the race guys, but I have a good excuse...Sunday at about 6pm I started having burning type stomach pains.  A hour or so later I was in bed in the fetal position and in great pain.  Kidney stones...... The wife wanted me to go to the emergency room, but I decided to tough it out and call the doctor Monday AM.  Wrong decesion as he couldn't get me in so had to go to emergency anyway.  Took some scans got some medicine that is easing the pain, hopefully will pass them soon!  Anyway will download the replay and see what I missed.  Grats to the podium.  See you all at Sebring hopefully.

Bob M.

Hi   Get well soon Bob M.

Didn't race well here and had problems in pit, first pit wasted lots of time shuffling back and forth to get pit board with no joy, second attempt overshot and got speeding in pit notice, then Geoffers shot past so gave up on fuel, caught him up with extra grunt from Fez on straights then lost out on the twisty bits, last lap last bend thought (got you now on the long straight to finish line), exited bend and spun the car recovered then ran out of fuel.

Grats Erling on win

Grats to Podium

Sorry to hear about your pains Bob; hope you get well soon!

Race yesterday turned out to be a sprint-enduro or sprint-attrition maybe.  Picked the baby Mazzer, as it was the fastest option for me.  Took an awful lot of practice, which didn't agree with my still bad back, but I tend to get stubborn when I keep wrecking a car...  ::)

Offline, I couldn't quite match Matt's fastest times from our previous outing here, so expected a tough race against him. Thus surprised to find him far down on pace.  Even more surprised to find Ziu so fast in the 250.  Knew he would claw back time through the twisty bits, but still shocked over how much he clawed back!!  :o  On some laps, I would only gain 2-3 secs on him.  I suspected he wouldn't change tyres, thus saving around 20 secs in the pits, as I didn't dare not change mine, with this car and a track chock full of death traps.  Looked as if it could be close, so had to drive to my max, as every second counted.

When I left the pits, a red car showed up in my mirrors, and I figured Ziu had caught up, Puzzled though that he didn't seem to gain much in the curvy sections, and concluded that his tyres probably were worn.  Only realized it was Roger and not Ziu, when I looked at the replay later.  Ziu was further back, after damaging his car at the pitstop.  Great shame, as it could have been exiting to the finish, if he hadn't.  Grats still for second, and to Geoffers for completing the podium.  Commiserations to all those who retired; this track really is a car killer.

As I mentioned before I could not get much enthusiasm for practice but got a few laps in the afternoon. I knew the Maserati was probably the quickest but driving it is beyond my capabilities, so gave the Merc SLR a try. That too turned out to be too tricky as well, putting the brakes on seeming to disconnect the steering  ???. So decided on a car that actually went around corners, hence the Austin Healey.

Was really surprised to qualify 3rd, but predictably I got blown away at the start as nearly everyone blasted past with only Biĺl & Kurt behind me. By the end of the long uphill climb all the cars ahead were out of sight but the Healey pulled them back through the twisty section & I even got past Matt's Masser. Was right up with Clive & Rog by the last corner, only for them to vanish into the distance on the S/F straight ::). This pattern continued over the opening laps until Rog went off & when Clive got out of shape at the last turn, I saw a chance, only to get a wheel on the grass & spin off   .

Next lap Clive went off & then retired leaving Rog & I to fight it out for 3rd. Thought Rog had sewn it up with his short pitstop, but then he stopped again on the next lap & rejoined just behind me & got ahead on the long uphill section. Managed to nip back ahead in the twisty bits & the battle was settled when Rog spun coming out of the last turn & shortly after retired. So came home 3rd & last finisher!

Congrats to Erling & Ziu   & commiserations to all who went astray on this tricky track.
