Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

IMPORTANT

Some of the cars were quite tricky to get to show up on the server (one of them is a mod built on the back of another mod  ::)    )

I have them all running now but it might be a good idea if drivers who are taking part in this event download the cars and test them online (sooner rather than later please).

Post if you get a problem please. This gives me some time to try to fix any potential problems.

Thanks

Tony

Just checked all four cars and they loaded fine and ran a lap in each.  Works for me.

Abarth 1000 TCR is OK

Pirin Fiat is OK

Abarth 1000TC link provided shows the download is for Abarth 1000TC Corsa not Abarth 1000TC

Abarth 1000TC is not available on line but the Abarth 1000TC Corsa is

Abarth Simca has two models the 1150 Corsa and the 1150, both are OK; can we use either car?

Just d/loaded track and cars. Thus far all work off line although working is a bit of a stretch in terms of being raceable!!

Will check with the server after I have eaten  ;D      Priorities!!

Tried the server and all cars appear to be OK...........................................................why did you ever doubt me  :balloon: :punk:

IMPORTANT

The Pirin Fiat fuel tank is too small for some of the longer distance races in this series.

Please upload this file (very small) http://www.mediafire.com/file/lvd45hjl5vc41lf/Pirin_Fiat_fuel_fix.zip and extract into GameData/Teams/ExtraCars/Fiat850 folder and allow to overwrite.

Whilst it is not an issue for the first two races it is best if everyone does this upgrade before the series starts.

Thank you

Tony

Just one question Tony................

I notice that one of my Simca options appears to have a 6 speed gearbox? is that correct?
It does feel like it has very close ratios and no ability to change individual gears.

Yes, the Abarth Simca 1150 Corsa has the 6 speed box. You can change individual gears. Do you have the two page garage car setup installed?

Hi the Pirin was a joy to drive, had great fun trying to catch up with Ziu in his 1150 but ran out of fuel on penultimate lap ( strange as used same fuel and default setup as race 1 ).

Grats to Podiums

  Probably true Ziu.

Great fun these little cars, really enjoyed racing them.

First race got outdragged off the line by Erling's TCR & would probably struggled to get past him as the TCR is faster on the straights, but had a bump from Fulvio at Hugenholtz on lap 1 which took us both off. Rejoined & set off after the pack, passed most of the slower class cars & got up to 3rd & was catching Ziu & hoping to get close to Erling, but a couple of mistakes on the same lap around mid-distance lost me vital seconds & a place to Fulvio. Quickly retook him coming onto the S/F straight on the next lap & caught up to Ziu, getting past was not so easy as the Simca was as quick as the Pirin on the straight & Ziu did well defending on the twisty bits. After a couple of attempts I got ahead at Tarzan, although Erling was too far ahead to catch now, so had to settle for 2nd.

Intended to take the quicker TCR for race 2, but as I seemed to have enough pace with the Pirin, I decided to stick with it. Start went better this time & I led into Tarzan. Fulvio stuck close for a couple of laps before I opened a gap & eased away for a fairly comfortable win. Bet the rest of the races won't be that comfortable! :-\

Congrats to all podium finishers.    Cya all at Longford.  :thumbup1:

This series promised some great entertainment, and Lap 1 Race 1 delivered that when Geoffers and Co went grass cutting at Hugenholtz. perhaps he was unaware of the absolute carnage that ensued  :o.

When my race prepared shopping trolley eventually made it to that part of the circuit, along with several other cars in close proximity, tarmac space was very limited and in the spirit of the true gentleman drivers that we are, we exchanged paint samples with all the cars around us. I suspect that some exchanges were forced upon drivers who perhaps were not really totally focused on increasing their paint collection but they got some anyway.  ;) Mabel told me later that some competitors even started door handle and mirror collecting!!
But, what it did prove was that small Italian cars are quite robust and do not fall apart upon first contact.  ::)

The rest of the race I was driving my socks off in a battle with Bill and Bob, totally perplexed as to why I could not match their acceleration out of the corners or down the main straight?? Obviously I need to look at my gearing and learn how to drive these little cars ( wistfully dreaming of Boss Mustangs here  ::) ) Great fun with some close battles
Grats to Erling and the podium guys.

Race 2 I opted for the insanity of the 150mph TCR version ( who in their right mind would drive a car this small at 150mph??!!). This proved to be much quicker than the TC Corsa that I had used in Race 1 and I was able to hassle Fulvio for the first few laps until a couple of minor errors allowed him to pull a couple of seconds clear . Geoffers was giving a masterclass up front and was a distant memory after the first laps. Ziu was a worry behind me with his Simca as he insisted on keeping pace with me for several laps until I think he made a small error and I finally got some heat ( and grip ) into my tyres. the rest of the race was a chase after Fulvio, but I just could not hook up enough fast laps to close the gap before a made a small error and lost all my hard work again.

Grats again to Geoffers and Fulvio.

I did a few laps offline in the Pirin Fiat and I have to say it was the fastest car for me. But these are early days in these cars and I decided to mix up my choice and see how I compared to the rest of you guys. The answer is that I feel I need to do some more practice......why is that always the answer???  :-\

Was that good fun or what??  I really enjoyed driving these little "pregnant roller skates" with you guys.  Wish we would have had a little bigger field.  Maybe after the absent guys look at the replays they will join in.  I have never enjoyed racing these small cars, always if given a choice opted for power over handling, but the car selection given to us really made  for interesting racing.
R1 was  great with someone almost always in my mirror or ahead.  As Clive said he,  Bill and I had some great battles. If I knocked you off  on the big right hander Bill, sorry about that.  Slowed up a bit after that so you could run me down in your TCR which you did....
R2 I had lost my focus and had several offs into the weeds which is a no-no in these little cars.  Forgot what gear I was in one time and went down into first which spun me out on T1.  Just didn't have the concentration and was squirming in my chair at the end.  Still worth it though.
See you all at Longford next week in the  old beasties.

Bob M.

I not did any mistake in race2, Clive. You had a Class A and when yours tyre got the right warmth you take advantage on me.
I did just a mistake in race1 last lap on last corner and Fulvio overtake me

Did you drive there and go on the magic roundabout!!!  ::)

My most enjoyable race night for donkey's years! Made good use of clutch on start and other driver's misfortunes to be in 3rd at end of first  lap, only to go too fast into a corner and into the kitty litter! After that I had battles with Clive and Bob for the rest of the race, thanks for the sportsmanship and clean racing. Clive where would you like me to send a couple of door handles?  ;D ;)

Did that a couple of years ago in Scotland; we were 6 guys in 4 rented old British sports cars. Hairy for sure, but helped that all the cars were RHD, so you were constantly reminded something was different. All of them had stickers in the top right corner of the windscreen, showing the right way through a Roundabout, for the benefit of continental drivers..  :D

Race 1:
Picked the TCR.  Never got round to trying the Pirin, so didn't know how fast it would be.  When Geoffers showed up in one during pre-race praccy and chased me on track, I begrudgingly had to acknowledge that it was faster than my TCR, at least in his all to capable hands. Dipped into the 1:26 laps for the first time in praccy, but couldn't repeat it in qual - not that it would have changed my grid pos.

Surprised to outdrag Geoffers into T1 and would have had a hard time staying in front, but then my two worst competitors took each other off. That probably gifted me the win, but also made for a lonely race, bar the first couple of laps.

Race 2:
Went for the Simca here.  Tried all to tame its wayward rear end in setup, but only made it worse.  Had to do it with driving instead, but regrettably I sucked as much at driving it, as I did setting it up. Thus far down the field, but with only 3 Class B cars present, the worst I could do was 3rd in Class. With a little luck I might even stay ahead of Bob and claim 2nd.

Kurt was slow off the line, so had to steer around him, all the while Bill blasted past in his TCR.  Tony had an off on L1, advancing me one place.  Kurt was looking for a way past as Tony caught up.  The two gents seemingly had an argument over who should overtake me first.  Tony won and disappeared.  Kurt eventually got pas too, but we swapped places a couple of times before he parked it in the barrier and retired :(

Chased after Bill for the rest of the race.  Got closer at times, but never in a position to challenge him.  Came home in a lowly 8th place, but 2nd in class so can't complain.  Grats to all podium finishers.

no idea who they were, but the next day we were at the Lizard and they all rolled by in their

No, we used Caledonian; http://www.caledonianclassics.co.uk/

We had an E-Type Coupe, a Caterham, a Triumph TR6 and a Triumph Stag.  Seems they got rid of the Stag & Caterham, but still have the TR6 & E-Type. (It was the same pale blue & Primrose yellow cars we had, as the ones on their website currently)  Could post some pics from the trip if anyone is interested.

During the summer months, Wiltshire is invaded by hordes of German plated Morgans, in convoys, all making a pilgrimage to Malvern and the Morgan Factory.

So now the BIG question.................................which of these individuals  is Erling? or did he take all the pics?

Answers please to "Where is Erling Competition" Scottish Tourist Board, Invercockyleaky, Highlands, Scotland.

The lucky winner receives a damp rag smelling of Whiskey that might have been used to clean the wing mirrors on the E-type. ( or it might not )  ;)

Thanks guys, and yes, I'm behind the camera on all shots  ;)

Was quite daunting to do my very first RHD driving in an E-Type, but thankfully it went better than feared, and all cars and drivers survived..  :)
