Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: This race is started by a flagman which you may not see! Strongly suggest that Auto-countdown is enabled. The start is in classic Le Mans format so you will line up diagonally in the pit lane. For extra realism drivers are asked to sprint to their PC's from the other side of the room.

Blimey, I am almost inclined to break up my holls for this one. Don't you guys agree sometime October would have been a far better time for a Le Mans event?
Have fun all. Seniordan

Just downloaded what I believe is the correct track??.....I had planned to test the download with a single lap. Great to have the whole Mulsanne without those mickey mouse chicanes  ;D ;D
But got a shock as I completed the lap, expecting to blast past the pits and sweep up under the Dunlop bridge. Some damned fool had stuck a chicane just where I was shifting into 5th   .....was not expecting that!!!

For Sale. One slightly shortened Porsche Le Mans car. One relatively careful owner.

Bugger....made a complete mess of that.

Sorry for the contact, Konstantin. That normally doesn't happen and it never should.

I made the worst rookie mistake there is. Someone in front of me went off and like a little monkey I followed him right off track. Steering was damaged after that and it would have been better to have abandoned straight away after that. Things just got worse....

If it was at Mulsanne Corner, that was me Dom, sorry. Not too displeased personally that it went wrong on lap 1, was not enjoying the Ford around here, it appears to have very little in the way of brakes!  :o

I think that it might have been me that sucked you in Geoff, if it was Mulsanne Corner on Lap 1?
I got a great tow from you and drafted past on the straight, (and yes! the brakes are not too good on these cars!). I was watching my mirrors as I crested the rise and eased on the anchors, watching for the last of the demon brakers and I noticed that you were closing faster than a bowling ball  :o :o So, I moved across to the inside to at least give you some clear tarmac to perform a miracle and stop your car...you didn't and it didn't!! and as I turned in you were still heading due South scattering chickens and French farm labourers :-\

The Ford was good for 10 laps here on a full tank so I planned to short shift and make sure that I completed 2/3rds of the race before a pitstop ( makes the maths easier for the refuel !  ;) ) and I pushed on with quite a lonely race as Ziu and Erling raced ahead, and Bob surprisingly dropped back?
Saw both of them as the did their stops but no way could the Ford match the Porkers on the straight, so they eased away. then start of lap 11 I pulled off for my splash/dash and some rubber...but made a complete Horlicks of the pitboard and ended up repairing the tow bar, respraying the car re-upholstering the interior in brushed velvet and forgetting to put in any fuel!!!!
Sorry guys but I just lost the will to wait and quit  :(, anyway I only had 1 litre of fuel, so could not go another lap. I was surprised how driveable that big Ford was, if you ignore the poor brakes , and I just loved the torque from that big V8 growling out of the corners
Grats to the podium places and all who finished. Once again my ineptitude at pitstops screwed my race...must find time to practice them??!!

No, it was the fast corner before Indianapolis. Anyway, it doesn't matter who it was, such a thing is entirely my own fault.

Actually it's probably due to the quitting smoking enterprise. On the one hand that goes really well: 398 hours and no inclination to grab one (even though I still have the lil'buggers in the house ;D) but on the other hand there's days like today I'm nervous af and can't seem to focus on anything properly. This ain't no Blitzkrieg, these are the WWI trenches.  :helpsmilie:

Was a bit of a strange race. About 4 seconds faster in the P4 than in the 917K so I decided to stay with the P4.

First part of race was very pleasable with some new pb's. Then I had an off and had to make an earlier pitstop for repair.
In spite of that the car has lost its top speed and after some more mistakes and some strange cut warnings I got a stop & go penalty and dropped to last.
When reentering the track I got another stop & go and the car slowed down and stopped working  ??? an experience I already made in free practice running the 917LH.
So the only possibility was to leave.

Anyway - thanks for organizing. Always a pleasure to drive here  :)

Arrived on the grid hoping for an automatic class win but unfortunately Roger and Kurt must of had the same plan  :taz: Took it easy for the first lap waiting for the tyres to warm up. Roger was way up the road but Kurt was in reach for a challenge so I tailed him for a few laps but was never able to close the gap of a couple of seconds. Kurt had a moment after Maison Blanche so it was an easy pass. Took my pit stop at lap 8 which went perfectly (I had done one practice pitstop). With fresh tyres and a full tank I set of after Roger who was a long way ahead but had not pitted yet. Many laps later Roger pitted but I was miles away from the pit lane. I was amazed that he was still in the pits as I drove through the start/finish straight and hence was now first in class with about 5 laps to go. When Roger lft the pits I was about 14 secs in front of him. Ziu lapped me so that was one less lap to worry about. Managed to make it to the finish with Roger still behind me.

The final two races will provide some drivers with interesting choices to make.

I read your last comment Tony and out of idle curiosity I took a peek at the points tables...then at the drives available in the different classes. Yep!! things are going to get very interesting,  and I suspect very tactical !!  ::) as the class wins and outright drivers championships are decided LOL.

Do love Le Mans, and with its history there, the 917 seemed the only option.  Never tried the LH version - have hated it on previous tracks, and always found it slower than the K.  Judging from Ziu's laptimes, that was a mistake; obviously there is a way to make it sing.

2nd then was the best I could hope for.  From lap 2, the race became completely lonely.  Up front, Ziu was gone, and the same applied for the rest of the field behind.  Entered the pits at the end of lap 7, to find a gaggle of cars already there.  Could see my pit guy up ahead of Kostja, but uncertain if I should pass his car to the left or right.  Picked left, which was a mistake, as my pit guy promptly disappeared  :o   With no place to stop, I had no other option but to exit the pits and go round one more time.  Thankfully had enough fuel for that, but cost me 23 secs lost, and made any hope of challenging Ziu an even more distant dream.

Rest of the race as uneventful as the first half.  Grats to Ziu on the win, and Bob for completing the podium.  Grats also to class podiums, and commiserations to all who met with untimely exits.

That was weird.  Undeserved podium for me but I will take it.  Going into the race I decided to just drive the 917 as safely as possible and try to keep focused for the 15 laps.  Had a good pit stop and focus until  lap 12 when I scrapped the Armco on both sides of the track, but at a lower speed so luckily no suspension damage.  Missed quite a few races this season because of family health and a residence move so the points help a lot.  Next 2 races in the series I will race a division 1 and 2 each car to even out my drives.  Grats to Ziu and Erling for position 1 & 2. Ziu, I saw you closing in on me on lap 15 but you didn't pass me.  Wouldn't have bothered me a bit if you would have......On to the old 50's cars next week.  Going to drive the Fer 375 again, have a good docile setup for it so might as well continue on with it.  Think I have driven it every time but once.

Thanks for the races
Bob M.
