Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Cannot get the track installer to work Tony, no idea why. Can you confirm that it is Oesterreichring1970 v2.00 by motorfx, I have this in my track store folder probably downloaded from NG years ago. If this is the correct track I should be OK.

Installer just worked for me.

Readme says this "Os'ring 1970 2.00 by MotorFX, packaged for UKGTL."

I would go with what you have, then go online and see if there are any messages in chat.

Didn't look forward to this one.  Have enjoyed the Ferrari earlier, but here it was just under-under-understeer.  Nothing I tried setup wise could make the front bite, and it was just so easy to run wide in the corners.

Lost a place to Dan at the start, but then he knocked Clive into a spin at T1. With all the smoke, I couldn't see where the cars were going and thus hesitated - didn't want to risk a collision in the fragile Ferrari. Bob exploited that and slipped past, and behind, Tony were in hot pursuit.  Got past Bob at the end of L1, and Tony followed suit.  He was soon replaced by a more insistent Clive.  Not much I could do to keep him behind, and he sailed past down the pit straight.

Clive was soon gone, and behind, Tony & Bob dropped back.  All by my lonesome self, my mind began to wander. Missed my braking point, clouting the barrier hard.  Car damaged, with steering wheel crooked and decidedly challenging handling.  Can't say I fancied doing the rest of the race like that and was sorely tempted to quit.  However, did fancy a go at 2nd spot in the P+2.0 Class, and couldn't remember were Bob was in the points.  Decided to stick with it and see how far I could go.  After a flurry of pit stops, I was in 3rd, with a 36-sec gap to the car behind and 10 laps to go. Could I possibly hope to make it in my damaged car ?  Gap was dropping, but only about a second per lap, so held on to 3rd till the finish.

Grats to Geoffers for the win & Ziu for 2nd.  Glad I stayed - can't complain about stealing 3rd in a crippled Ferrari, with all the 917s around  :)

Had a choice of cars for this race, but as I hadn't won a race in this series I thought I would give myself the best chance by taking the 917. Actually turned out to be a fairly lonely race enlivened only by a couple of errors. First when I came up to lap Dan at the Bosch Curve & was caught out by how early Dan braked & in avoidance glanced the barriers on the right before shooting back across the track & hitting them on the left, just a miracle I didn't take Dan off too.  :o Was a bit more careful lapping people after that.
Second moment came 2 laps from the finish when after lapping Bob I spun coming out of the final turn & bumped the barriers. I think I was fortunate that neither of my moments resulted in a damaged car, it still drove fine both times. :sweatdrop:

Congrats to Ziu & Erling on their podiums    & congrats to both again on their championship class wins & overall championship win.  :notworthy: :notworthy:

.......................................... At the post race debrief............"so Arnold, where were those lovely fresh super grippy tyres we needed for the pitstop?"

After Dan's sweet little love nudge at T1, I had nursed the beast of a 917 for 20 laps and from last place back up to 2nd. After 20 laps I had extracted any grip that was available from the tyres and the left side of the car was glowing red. The car was beginning to get a little twitchy under braking and directional control in the corners was becoming more and more random. The thought of having a nice new set of boots and a reduced fuel load had a certain appeal.  :tt1: :tt1:

" excuse me Arnold ??!! you swapped them for a case of Schnapps and a giant Apfel Strudel???"  :o

" I don't give a rat's a** if you and Mable had a nice picnic!!. When I came in for my pitstop, there was no one there...no tyres....no fuel rig...no pit crew!!"

I was never going to catch Geoffers, he was 30 secs ahead, although I was running at a similar pace until the pitstop.  I had to recruit a hot dog salesperson and a girl who had been selling programmes to help me service the car. Found the fuel rig and pumped in a tankful of go juice and then went in search of 4 new tyres........no tyres to be found!!. When I came back to the car it was up on the jacks and the wheels were off. "put those back on again!" was all I could say.
Then the dingbat of a hot dog vendor decided to repair and respray the rear end where Dan had left his mark whilst first Ziu and then Erling went past in their Ferraris...............Geoffers lapped me......I grew a beard and eventually rejoined the race.

The last 11 laps were a nightmare. Erling was already 30 secs ahead and my tyres were already well into the red zone. I dared not push beyond a 1:43 lap and even that was risking a terminal incident. With 5 laps to go HUD was indicating zero tyres left!!. We were now running on the wheel rims and it was only the heavy oversteering setup that allowed me to force the car through the corners. I was just waiting for the inevitable puncture  :-\

I was marvelling at how far I had got without a spin on the final lap and was beginning to think that even if the tyres popped I could still sneak 4th. But just 3 corners from the flag the last bit of grip vanished and the car lost all steering ability. A little grass cutting and a very cautious cruise to the flag finished my race.

Mable says that Arnold should be out of intensive care in 4 weeks and off of crutches by Christmas. He has been given a final warning, and it has been explained in no uncertain terms that the pitstops at Goodwood on the 29th December had better rival the speed of Mercedes or else he can look for alternative employment!!

Grats to the group winners and podiums. Found these quite a challenge to drive quickly even without my pitcrew's help.

Grats to all the podium drivers and also to the champions of the series various classes.  Always kind of liked the track with all it's quirks, but not in these cars.  Need more talent than I have to navigate and not get into trouble.  After Qual. with me 8 seconds or so off some of the others times, I decided to just try to make it to the end and be safe.  Well that didn't happen as I went off into the green stuff several times but luckily didn't make contact with anything solid.  However when I made it to the pit stop the board said I had suspension and body damage.  Made a quick decesion just to re-tire and fuel.  Car was good enough I thought.  After that Dan and I met up and had a little racing, he must have wounded his Por as was struggling on every curve both in and out.  Just decided to run with him then got a chance to get by him, and he stayed close to me for several laps and then must have lost it cause he dropped way back.  After that it was just trying to stay out of the way of the leaders and hope I got lapped a lot to put me out of my misery.  Again grats to the champs!!!!
