wow, very nice mod of the track, its so detailed and looks authentic. Quite bumpy though! may have to raise our cars a tad. I presume we are using the F1 layout? though surprised you don't want to try the banking  :-\
Stunning on the replays.  8)

ps..Peter-San, can we have it on the server? Ta  :)

I think the F1 version is the one they used in real life.

It is bumpier than I can remember  ;D. I think I have all 4 wheels off the track at some point.

Jeffrey, i need your good lap replay and setup. Otherwise my hate to road mesh author will win on me and i will not see myself in this track mod anymore.  ;D
Let's this track mod convert author will learn from Lilski how to build a proper vintage mesh ( Bridgehampton).  :(

I used Felix' setup from last time with different gearing and I think that's all I did  :P

My Rothmans team engineer measured a track mesh some minutes ago and said that this track is not racing approved due hollows more than 10 sm depth in 5 meters length of surface in some places. He said that in Siberia we have more better road surfacas in village- village routes. I agree with my engineer, guys, and will be absent in this event. So sorry, this track in AC should be more better. More closer to real amologatoin to racing on. Or used only with higher suspention movement and softer springs car( Jeep Cheroki) .
No question to admins and Jeffrey i know- he want only good things and wishes  :) I hope Felix will end the race alive and will get his championship in this Fuji track! I will ask a race replay file to see how it was  :)

Anyone found the trick for coping with the bumps here? I tried various damper increases front and rear and raised the car a bit but it still feels like a bucking bronco in some corners.

Funnily enough I was running Group Cs here yesterday without realizing you were racing here tonight. I've finally managed to get some kind of feel in AC from my DFGT so I might join you if that's ok.

Good to see you again GT. Did you see the controller thread in the stickies? I found it on Race Department, could help  :)

Yeah, I read through that thread on RD and tried a few of the suggestions but never really got anywhere with them. However Stefan kindly pm'd me suggesting I try loading the default G25 settings and after a couple of additional tweaks things seem better. I still don't get much help with the feel under braking but I seem to be able to sense corner grip better and feel exit oversteer better than before. Still far from perfect but at least workable.

Ride height, dampers, springs, arb's and hold on tight  ;D

I went high and soft for mine. Need to have a play with aero yet and might tweek the tires more - I still need to go faster to catch Felix and Matteo...

Still struggling with feel in AC  :( Cars just feel like they're on ice in and out of slow speed corners with no sensation of mechanical grip and therefore no way to judge my throttle on exit. Braking just puts me into terminal undesteer no matter how I apply or bias the brakes. I gave up midway as I had no-one to race with  ::)

Buy a better wheel GT   ;) the amount of hours we spend racing it’s worth the long term investment.

Mixed race for me. Car was pretty good until my tyres wore out completely. Ran 5th for most of the race with a few place swaps with Stefan, who I enjoyed a good chase with for a long time. I must have had too much wing as I could never close on the straight.
When I saw Stefan pit with about 15 mins to go I thought that was it 5th in the bag. But about 5 laps later the tyres got so bad I just understeered off in the fast last sector and smashed my car up including a shattered screen  :'(
I pitted to get new boots and a screen but my pit crew did nothing  ??? I just sat there wasting seconds and drove out again. All I could do for last 9 mins was just nurse my battered Porsch home for a lonely 6th.

Despite the nasty bumps I did enjoy this old school track with these cars, they looked fab in action  8)
Congrats to Felix and the podium  :)

Slow speed corners will not generate much load in any wheel, but you surely should notice the moment the back end starts sliding? Probably best to increase the minimum-FFb level which effectively increases any FFB signals upto that level.

Unfortunately these car do inherently understeer off throttle, but then give you lots of oversteer when one of the rear wheel loses traction.

Mark: depends if your setup had a pitstop set up in it.

Mark: depends if your setup had a pitstop set up in it.

Can it not be over ridden in pit lane? Surely the pit menu should pop up when you stop? So you can choose what needs doing (if not already configured) ie you don’t know if your car will get damaged in race or get a puncture  :-\

Re feedback, I can pretty much feel what all my wheels are doing in AC, even feeling the tyres bite or slip. You haven’t got your ffb levels too low have you GT? I don’t know anything about the dfgt wheel so no idea how good or bad the ffb is on it. I only have the mid range fanatec but get great feel through it, far superior to my old g25

Not one you're stationary you can't as the stop will have 'started'. If you have available logitech wheel then just press the D-pad at any point in track and the menu pops up.

You have the length of the pit lane to you stall to try and change it but I've found it to be really difficult to do! At Brands I hadn't quite cycled through the tyre options to turn off tyre changes, it will do what it is set when you get there, so I had softs!

Or press any keyboard arrow key. Pit menu will appear during 20 sec.

Thing is the DFGT works very well in Raceroom and rF2 (as well as the older sims). I have my doubts about how good Fanatec is in Raceroom so I'm reluctant to change. Also not impressed by Fanatec quality or customer service.....my Clubsport pedals were effectively scrap after 12 months use and were problematic throughout my ownership. Don't really want to go there again!

True, I had no feel in raceroom at all with my fanatec wheel. Surprised by your comment on the pedals though as my clubsport2 pedals are a great piece of kit and I’ve had them 2yrs now
:-\. I’ve been hovering over the buy button for their fancy higher end wheel hub and Gt rim for a while now.  :)

Yeah Fanatec

The brake sensor on my CSPs packed up within 6 months and I had to send them a video of the fault in action for them to send out a replacement sensor which then took 3 weeks to arrive! Another 6 months on and the bushings on the throttle were worn out and another brake sensor had failed. After insisting that I send them another video they said the problem was due to normal wear and they were not able to offer any further support. Never again Fanatec!

Well done Felix - I'm gutted my challenge this round was knocked out by my controller jumping out of 4th  :(
I'm sure you were playing safe at that point but I could at least pretend I was in control of the race up until that point  ;)

I'm not sure if I missed the apex and ran wide or understeered off because I was too close behind while fighting to re-pass you - but that trashed my car and loosing it a lap or two later on the bumps took most panels into the Orange - probably a good thing I was running 0 wing or I'd have probably been hurt even more than I actually was.

I think I may have dropped as low as 5th during the accident so am glad I put my angry face on and drove like crazy from there on. Being in a position to actually fight Manteos for 2nd at the end of the race made it worth it ;D

Thanks to Fabri for giving me an easy pass - I really didn't expect that. Damaged car or no!

Great championship - Don't think I can challenge for 2nd, but I hope to hold Manteos off for 3rd next round.

Any idea what we're driving next so i can start on a silly paint job?

I'm quite puzzled now. 5 minutes ago while taking my coffee I was thinking about writing a post to suggest a championship with a 250 GTO. That sounds me like telepathy  ::)

So, yes please! Give us that 250 GTOs!

About my race I would avoid any comment because it would result in a series of blasphemies, so I spare it to you. I can't really say that I'm happy for my second place, because I'm not.
With one race to the end and 2 races less than the leaders another wood spoon is in plain sight ;D

Hope to be there for the next ;)

I had a heavily damaged windscreen and I could not see anything. I preferred not to create mess and let pass you easily and safety. But don't get used for next times.  :P

Congratulations to Felix, absolute domination in the championship!

I hope the next series will be with an old F1. If you really want something exotic that both the Maserati 250F.

PS: another hour of understeer and everything will be end, fortunately ...

I seem to have finally sorted out my ffb  :)

This is a real game changer for me  After all these years I finally have great ffb in AC. Anyone who feels their Logitech wheel is lacking needs to give this a try!

I may not be any quicker with it, but at least AC is now enjoyable. See you at Sebring  :)
