Hi All,

This will be the second test race for my forthcoming V8 Supercars series. The format for this test race may be tweaked after the findings/feedback of the first test race on the 21st January.

Looking very good. It's a mod I was keeping my eyes on for a future series, but looks like that won't be necessary. If it feels good then I'm in :).

Just looked this mod. Don't know i like it or not.
For info - the phisics and tyres of cars is absolutely the same in code. Use which you like by your motorsport religion, guys  :)

Strange, unless someone has changed the server this evening already the server is set for 24 cars, the track supports 28. I just connected ok.

Edit : Timestamp on the server's cfg file is this morning when I set it up.

The track does not support 28! i think its more around 23 from the RD download page.

Strange that I connected ok then. I got the 28 from the ACServerManager app that looks at the circuit details and tells you how many pit boxes it has. RD does indeed say 23.

Stupid 3rd party add-ons!

If anyone struggled at Barbagallo this is is tough! No tire temps, no grip in the slow corners. number of times I;ve understeered , mainly asi cant see through the car to work out where I am!

Damage model is really dodgy on this mod. Whenever you touch the wall it glues to it and basically wrecks your car with the slightest touch.

There are sticky walls on this version of Adelaide. The approach to the kink @ about the 150 metre mark has velcro on the walls or magnets or a death ray  or something. Many of the corners are not accurate  - too open or too tight. That Kink is where a lot of time is hiding from you and where you'll end up destroying your car...happy days!

Ah so it's the track. Few places you sink into the wall a bit before getting thrown out with a wrecked car  :P.

I don't know if it got fixes between the old version I accidentally put on the server and the one we're now running but I fell in to one of those holes at the edge of the track and couldn't escape out as the car wouldn't stop moving. I seem to have a knack for finding these ;)

This track needs to be set to 100% grip at the very least  :o

So not only are the tyres cold for a lap or two the biggest issue is the brakes take a few laps longer to not keep locking up!

And then theres the walls!

Not a track for anyone who hasnt atleast pracirsed some laps if just to make them aware of how difficult its going to be!

I think peoples setups only stay uploaded when they are on the server, couldnt see anything on there. Any chance of someone sticking a setup up?

Make sure you are in the same car, so for Felix' setup you should be in the Ford.

A few weeks ago someone said the physics is the same for all three cars, if this is the case shouldn't the setup work on any car?

The setup will work for all the cars, but it won't show up in stracker if you have a different brand. I didn't see Felix setup when I joined in the Holden, but when I switched to the Ford it was there. After you downloaded it, you can use it for the other cars as well.

Jolly good fun  ;D

Was surprised to be up near the top in Qual, was running with a fairly "safe" setup
gears higher than ideal, more fuel than was required, as the car seemed less stable
on low fuel, didn't use 1st at all in the race, and had the brakes down at 85% I think
as I had a few botty clenchers when trying to brake and change down.

Out braked myself after a few laps, and dropped to 3rd place for a few laps, but managed
to sneak a pass, and just managed to hold off FMG up to the end.  :fencing:

Jolly good fun  ;D

Agreed. Annoyed with myself for the silly mistake that allowed FMG past for P3, but otherwise that was great fun; and always had someone to chase throughout. Congrats podium.

as the car seemed less stable
on low fuel

Hmm, mine just seemed to get better and better as the race went on - set my fastest lap just before the end of the race!

I got velcroed by the infamous wall. And that was just the formation lap! Low speed, just scratched the wall a tiny bit and it completely and utterly destroyed my car. Had to start from the pits and so was a lap down already.
Just stayed in the race to have some fun.

If we are gonna use an Adelaide track, may i suggest also looking into Adelaide1988. Better looking, less bugs and the same layout but one corner as i recall.
Still good fun these cars indeed.

Absolutely fabulous fun! ;D
I started to get the hang of these towards the end of practice, although I never quite managed to put that to use in Qualifying (stupid walls).

After the start I concentrated on going fast safely while I continued to learn the car (I downloaded the track an hour and a half before the race, and have only driven the cars for about 15 mins each at Sandown).
This paid off as I gained 5th fairly early on thanks to a spin from Bob.
4th and 3rd were each gained through mistakes from my opponents, which was a shame as I seemed to have genuine car pace on my side by that point - it would have been interesting to see if I could actually pass here!

My only gripe with the cars is realism based - auto clutch seems to be enabled allowing you to bang it back up the box with nothing more than a blip of the throttle. In real life they don't have that ability, just full throttle shifting up so clutch use is required.

If we run these as a series on a Sunday (please don't!) please can you pick alternate Sundays when I'm not racing in GPL  ;)

This is going to be a Sunday night series, but it will be bi weekly, I will try to position it to miss your GPL weeks!
