Title: UKGPL Season 32 (2017-18) Historic Trophy (66) - Reims - Jan 21 Post by: Phil Thornton on January 17, 2018, 09:13:11 PM +0000 Season 32 Historic Trophy – Round 8 - Reims
The eigth race in the Historic series finds us in France at Reims. Reims-Gueux was first established in 1926 on the public roads between the small French villages of Thillois and Gueux. The circuit had two very long straights between the towns, and teams strove to maximize straight-line speed of their cars; many slipstream battles ensued. Race organizers actually felled trees and demolished old houses in order to make the circuit even quicker. International racing came with the first official Formula One event occurring in 1950, the inaugural year of the Formula One world championship. The circuit layout was shortened and changed in 1952 to bypass the town.
Password: see above (#post_event_password) Driver lists and divisional rules can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=618&theme=6) Only reported incidents will be moderated, there is no Red Zone. Handicapping and chassis allocation. This season the Historics will be using a token system which allows drivers to purchase any chassis of their choice, 2 litre or 3 litre, for a given number of tokens as published on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=618&theme=6). Drivers classed as Amateurs will be allocated an additional 10 tokens. The token allocation will not be managed in SRou this season so (unlike the 67F1 Works and 67F1 Privateer divisions) the tokens available to each driver will not appear in the championship table (when the mouse pointer is hovered over the driver's total). Rather, the available tokens will be published in the race announcement. See below. Available Tokens: Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Another time, not my fault: two ppl spin in front of me. Axel brakes early avoid them and i give him little bump. seconds later i got a big hit from tim who stucks me in the armco. dissapointed. once more. No disco this time, but throughout Qually and the race the FF was seriously weird with zero feel and a huge deadspot at the centre. It made keeping the car in a straight line more difficult than taking corners!!!! Under braking it was just impossible to control and the car just wandered wherever it wanted to...usually onto the grass!! ::) I was glad that I started at the back of the grid and did not cause any mayhem mid field. Grats to those who finished the race and to the podium. For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement). The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error. There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Grats Clive! Had you unchecked the "disable intel speedstep" ? Very sorry Bastian, I had already started an out braking move on one of the Ferrari's when the contact up front occured - so I simply couldn't stop when you all slowed early/extra :( Jonny - No worries, I should really know better than going outside a spinner. But you really looked like you were heading in-field so I took the chance. Stupid cornfield. Not something that I have had for ages & rather disappointing since there were good points for finishing. My better races this season have all been with the cheap token cars. Something 2 litre next time.

Grats Clive! Had you unchecked the "disable intel speedstep" ? Yes Axel, speedstep is now disabled,. But I don't think I lasted long enough in the race to prove that the screen freeze bug is beaten. Maybe next time? But in fact I was not able to join the server. Hi AndreasI can delete you from the results if you like but it won't make any difference to the number of tokens you have. Perhaps you momentarily connected to the server for long enough for the server to recognise you but then imediately discoed. I tend to run the server for practice sessions quite regularly. Please try to join some of the practice sessions it would be useful to know if your problem occurs often or if it was an unusual event. I have no problems with the results. Will look for your practise sessions and hope that I can join. |
