Round two of the series moves to Rockingham Speedway (road course layout)

The server will be up and running before the weekend

I will add the link to Stracker when I get the chance

@MJ, I will look into why the server jumped straight to the next session after last weeks race, it wasn't intentional.

I will publish the ballast list before the weekend

It should be noted this is not Rockingham in the US!

The server normally jumps straight to the next session, it didn't for me, it actually dropped me straight out and showed the results screen which I haven't seen for years!

I can't get this track to work for offline races (hotlapping works), maybe somebody should check if this track works online (if this didn't happen yet  ;) )

Thanks for the heads up, the track works ok online in practice session, I will try it in a qually and race session tonight

I have just done a couple of races online and it seems ok, I am still experiencing the jump straight to the next session after the race like we encountered at the race at Oulton last week, but I think this is a separate issue.

The server is set for practice for this weeks race at Rockingham. I have also updated the first post in this thread with the ballast list. I am still working through getting the results list for last weeks race put right

Well its a pretty poor track version genenrally but doesnt seem to suffer with a poor driving surface like other 3rd party tracks. Very tight though :o

since the server is passworded etc can we make it so the drivers who have ballast have it on their cars.

cheers.

as far as I know the only way we can apply the ballast is by using a booking server, which will cause all manor of complaints if it is turned on before Sunday night :(

i have just been doing some practice in AC, for some reason I cannot change the onboard settings anymore (seat position within the car) I recently updated my NVidia drivers to the latest version (390.77), not sure if this is related to the problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

If the server is pasworded, might as well make an entry list with just the people on it who are in the series.

i am not sure it is possible, the only option where you use peoples GUID's is in booking mode. Picnic may know if there is another way.

Im pretty sure thats exactly what you have to do..

You would need the 3 guid’s and when you put them into the server manager you allocate them the ballast..
Along with that you can allocate skins and fixed setups.

Set the server up like the 599 series, that has password and balance.

All being well I should be joining you tonight, not sure about choice of car, probably the Porsche - don't tell me its the slowest. Not sure if I've done this version on the track live but certainly not done the sim version.

@Felix, sorry for the touch, I slowed down to let you past, thought I had left enough room and gassed it up again and unfortunately clipped the back of you :-[

good race,

apologies to Jeffery and whoever was in 4th.. i was 3rd in qual then i didn't look until we was sat on the grid, flapping about with fuel i didn't take any notice where i was then when we started everyone jumped the gun and i totally lost what position i was in..

but Jeffery you should of been in front of the macca when the lights went green, not your fault.. whoever was driving the macca should of made sure he was behind you..

Sorry for being a muppet when the lights went green. It's been such a long time since we used rolling starts regularly  :-[.

When I realised I tried to slot behind the 2 Audi's, but for some reason the McLaren wanted to be infront of me as well. I tried to get back in 3rd a few times, but I didn't get my position back. So before the start I just slotted into 5th instead of 3rd, thinking I might have missed a very late lap in qually, eventhough I was looking at the timing when the session changed.

Lost quite a bit of time following the McLaren which made it even more frustrating in the end, but I wouldn't have been able to keep up with Felix anyway.
The AMG seems to do okay during qually, but on mediums it's quite rubbish so far and I stand no chance against the Audi's. I have no idea what the strength of the AMG is, it's not fast in a straight line, it turns in like a boat and oversteers everywhere else  :P.

Track had a pretty nice flow and some tricky corners to keep you aware, which kept your eye off the graphics :).

Snetterton should be good fun I think.

When I finished qualifying it said position 3 and when my car was dumped on the grid I saw 2 cars in front of me so I didn't twig that I was 4th. I was fiddling around trying to get the fuel levels right for race and pit stop so didn't have a chance to look round. If the start had been a bit more orderly I might have realised Jeffrey was ahead but when 2 or 3 cars flew past me I had it in my head I should be in third so apologies to Jeffrey for that.

As for the race this car was really unpredictable on this track and it would just swap ends randomly. There is a thread on the AC forum talking about the ground collision box being incorrectly placed so whether or not this is causing problems I dont know.
Spun the car another twice and ran out of fuel and came to a halt halfway down the pit lane. Not a track that will be getting on to my favourites list, just did not enjoy it at all.

Very much enjoyed the race, good few laps chasing Larry and Spanner. Apologies to Jeffery for holding up under blue flag, I was aware of you but also aware that Spanner could get the jump on me if I didn't time it right. When I did slow I don't think you were ready for it, if I could have stuck my arm out to give you the go ahead, I would have done. Very difficult for the back markers, on such a twisty track, to get lapped without compromising their own race. All part of racing and the best answer is to get quicker I guess.

Having driven this circuit for real, I can confirm that it is very accurate. The long turn to the left, in reality, you pull a lot of 'G'.

Cheers Chris

Ah so I wasn't the only one struggling with that. At the end of the banking in the oval part, if you were on the inside, the back would also suddenly step out. Same goes for the fast left hander over the crest, I've lost it there a few times during practice and it was butt clenching a few times during the race.

No problem. At 1 point I thought you stayed right before the hairpin but the nature of this track makes it so it doesn't have straight braking zones, which makes it tricky to judge.

Tried to make the car turn in faster in the left hander by lifting off briefly a few times, but I still brushed your rear bumper, so I'm glad that didn't end badly :).

No idea how I managed 6th in this race with 4 pit stops due to my terrible maths. For some reason I thought the lap was approx 120 so I was well short on fuel and tried to adjust in my pit stop to take on a lot more than I was intending to. I got it wrong and had to pit again thinking I only needed X more and then with 1 or 2 to go I realised I needed to pit again as I still had got it badly wrong. It was only after the race I realised where I had gone wrong! 60 + 18 = 78 not 118! What a muppet! ::)

Oh and to top it off I hadn't read the rules and didn't realise the start was rolling, but to make matters worse I did a jump start too so had to pit lap 1 for drive through! Definitely a noob night for me!

Didn't think much of the track for those cars, but it was a new experience at least.
